sixflagsmagicmountain
I've been stuck on Goliath at SFMM three or four times, always on the lift. I don't think it likes me.
neovortex2k
I've been stuck on the hulk, big thunder mountain paris and on the fire coaster of DD. On the hulk it was just after the launch, it jumped forward and than slammed on the brakes. We had to climb off and walk down the stairs. It was quite scary when the harness came up and we had to walk across the whole train to climb down the stairs on the right. I was afraid it would launch and i'd be thrown off. On BTM we were just stuck in the station for 20 minutes but we got 2 laps. On the fire coaster it was at the station after completeing the circuit we were waiting for the train ahead to leave the station so we could complete the brake run but we were stuck there after the train left the station for an hour. methylene
I've yet to date had the (mis)pleasure of being stuck on a coaster, and it's not for lack of riding them either. Matt
QueerRudie
The only really REALLY cool breakdown I can fully remember was on Loch Ness Monster (Daddy's Beautiful Girl!) on ACE Day at BGW in 1992. The transfer block sensors tripped an E-Stop while we were in the helix- and locked the circuit when we were on the second lift hill- which resulted in the shutdown of the ride, and the -terrible pity- of an on lifthill evac. I heard GPs complaining that they were going to die, get injured, etc. and I thought this was the coolest thing ever! Arrow's lift hills are suprisingly steep (At least they appeared that way to me at age 17!) and getting to see the lifthill that close up still amazes me. For our 'suffering' we got a free day at the park (Which I used that October for my 18th birthday, no less-) Nessie was back up and running less than two hours later- but what a great memory I have of that day. Jon Sabo
Strange that I have never been stuck on any coaster, but I certainly had my fair share of "fixing" broken down coasters from BGE during the haydays. Those hot/humid VA. summers really suck when ops had to ride evac any coaster and we had to figure out the problem(s). I think we could loose about 10lbs. in about 1 hr. (just from sweating). Nor rain, snow, nor heat of day kept us away!
Golfie
Never been on a ride when it broke down. However, we did have to wait 6 minutes in the rain on Viper because the track was too wet for them to send out another train.
Scaparri
Beast- top of the second lift for about ten minutes. Adventure Express- last lift for about twenty minutes Twisted Twins- ended up having to walk down the lift. Spiderman- I know it's not a coaster, but it was cool 'cause I got to walk out of it and see the ride with the lights on.
ConleyKE
So far, it's our tradition to get stuck on one coaster each visit to Cedar Point. The first time two years ago, Wicked Twister went forwards, then backwards, forwards, backwards, and then slammed on the brakes before reaching the last and final front spike. We were stuck on the straight launching section for like 20 minutes with a tight restraint and seaguls bombing us from above. The second visit (just two days ago) we got stopped on Mantis's lft hill for about 5 minutes, cause unknown.
ginzo
I got an e-stop on Son of Beast in June at the mid course brakes on the hill before the loop. SOB had broken down twice that day, and I was on the second run after they restarted it at like 3 PM. Unfortunately, we were only stuck out there for like 5 minutes. I totally wanted to get to walk off the ride (there's a flight of stairs right next to where we stopped), but the stupid thing started back up! Walking off a ride, especially down a lift hill, would be so much fun.

I replaced quite a few of those sensors during my time on Nessie. I remember the old "photo-eye" system that used to set-up trains on both lifts when birds would sit and sh%# on them (sensors). All we had to do was go and clean the lenses and reset the ride-cycles. I only hate walking the lift (#1) and if I forget a tool or something the walk back-down and then up again sure is a pain in the butt! Now, the entire ride got an update a few years ago and use the traditional proximity-switches (thank-goodness). *Still LOVE that sound of the braking system on Nessie. Now, it has a similar sound like DF used to have.

jjeerr
Goliath @ SFMM on the brake run (there for about 5 min, took us out, then had to wait 30+ min for my parents who were stuck on the lift hill) Riddler's @ SFMM for about 2 mins on the lift. Indiana Jones Adventure @ DLR the ride stopped just before the bridge. We got to walk the first 1/2 of the ride, and got a fastpass to use on any ride. DejaVu4Life
Acrophobia (twice within an hour at the top), first time for 10 minutes, the next for about 10. Got several free rotations S:UF (SFOG), stuck on the brake run for about 10 minutes And finally the one I enjoyed the most, Deja Vu (with a group of people from SFOG.net). We were on the second tower for about 17 minutes. We drew quite a crowd, and still my best Deja Vu ride to date.
paulTT
well i've never got stuck on a rollercoaster but my worst experience was getting stuck in a flat ride at sixflags darienlake. the "twister" top spin rides. it was my second ride on it when about 5 seconds intothe ride it just stoped. it was about 35degrees celcius, i was stuck for about 30min. i hated the double restraint system (over the shoulder and lapbar). probly never go on one of thoes rides again! (except clifhanger at canadas wonderland!! awesome ride)
viking86
Another RCT breakdown here. Experienced a "Restraint stuck closed" on Wild Train @ Erlebnispark Strasswalchen. A mechanic had to go underneath the track in station and open the restraints manually.
clarkerm
I got stuck on Nemesis at Alton Towers recently.....Twice. The first time, we had just finished our ride and were waiting to enter the station, but the car in the station had a problem. The second time, we just left the station and were heading for the lift hill but the tyres didnt seem to engage with the car properly and we never made it to the lift hill. It took about 20 minutes for them to try....and fail....to fix it and then we were let off.
