No sign of Green Lantern testing? Are you sure it's going to open on July 1st? It's just a week away. How many weeks does a coaster like that need?

^Most manufacturers will want a certain amount of cycles put on the ride by their programming/engineering staff before they hand it over to the park so they can start their own series of tests. Amount of time varies but if any issues arise during testing that will obviously delay projected opening dates.

^No idea........it's at the manufacturer's discretion. Plus keep in mind DOSH still needs to inspect the ride before GP can ride it. If DOSH finds any issues they will not sign off on the ride until the park has made necessary corrections.

I know 1st hand that when Sierra Sidewinder opened at KBF, the engineers from Mack did 100 cycles on each train before handing it over to the park.

Realistically speaking, that's not even that much time or many cycles. Consider 20 cycles an hour and you could get that done overnight in 5-6 hours.

True, but keep in mind the trains aren't the only thing that's being tested. Then once the ride is handed over to the park they need to do their own series of testing. What tests Six Flags does exactly I don't know. Plus they need to train the crew that will be operating the ride in addition to their maintenance team receiving some sort of training from Intamin's engineers as well.

I'm just hoping that it opens sooner than later. I can only imagine the line GL will have when it does open.

On Wednesday, June 29, 2011 we need a few more riders for the commercial filming of Green Lantern. Riders must be available for the entire day (8:00am – 6:30pm). Riders will be paid $50 at the completion of the day. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. All riders must be 18 and over and must meet all safety requirements of the ride. Proof of age will be required. This commercial filming does not fall under the jurisdiction of SAG or AFTRA so union members may not participate. Park employees that wish to participate must have permission from their supervisor to take the day off if they are scheduled to work that day. If interested please send your name, address, e-mail and phone number along with a current photo of yourself to sfmmfilming@gmail.com. If selected, you will be contacted by the filming coordinator no later than Monday afternoon.

Well, I was at the park on thursday for the second time this year, and I have made some excellent observations. First, even with a 1 train operation, it was still abhorred riding Apocalypse. Average time between load-dispatch-unload was 6 mins. The ride ops were the worse group of any in the park. Thank god we ended up doing the sliver flash pass, otherwise, I would have totally skipped the 1.5 hour wait for the coaster. Tatsu was generally fine, two trains and the crew was getting them thru fairly quickly. Again, thank God for the flash pass...got thru X2(no audio), Deja Vu, Goliath and Riddlers without the 1 hour lines. I will always buy the pass from now on. Now, I finally took the time to really take in the park this trip and to make some good observations. First, the park was fairly clean, kudos to maintenance for that. DC Universe looked like it was coming along fine(more on that later). My number one discovery....please, please, please, no new flat rides until they can maintain what they have. I know the flats in DC land are being freshened up, but good lord, I had NEVER noticed the huge holes, missing planks in the bottom of the pirate ship! Thats plain awful. They should be embarrassed by that. Not to mention the rest of it looked as if it was some old pontiac with different colored fenders or sandblasted parts all over it. Not to mention the front entrance of the two rides...geez, please fix that up first.

As for the new themed arch to DC Universe, I am all for theming at a park, if they can maintain it, but how long till those superhero prints on the arch start fading and looking like the roller coaster images that are in the arches by Viper. If they are going to do it, they need to maintain it, thats all I am saying. Finally, the bathrooms were horrible...worst I have seen in years(with the exception of the restrooms by Goliath). Heres a question the the females on the site(if any)....do girls trash the bathrooms as bad as guys? Are the womens rooms generally cleaner or just as bad? Oh, and RRE is a great addition to the park. My only other complaint, is it was just too damn hot...how about some misters?!

Just thought I would throw this out here...

(6/24/11) Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been sent a few rumors suggesting that Six Flags Magic Mountain may be working on adding their own version of the Sky Screamer (Star Flyer) to the park for 2012, which would be a big crazy with Knott’s putting in Windseeker just to the south. I’m happy to report that Screamscape sources have confirmed that this is a bogus rumor… something is in the works for SFMM for 2012, but not a Sky Screamer.

Is the water supposed to be dumping out like that??? Why don't they put caps on the openings of the dummies? Anyway, looks great and can't wait to get out there and ride it.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It looked cool though .

Was there on Friday, only important notes:

-X2 had neither train with Audio on. bummer.

-X2's new headrests offer very comfortable rides with no headbanging.

-Ninja is starting to get PACKED lines, most likely because people want to warm up before riding S:EFK, lol.

-Goliath's misters went haywire, gave everyone a shower in the line. Not a problem though, it was burning hot Friday!!!

-Colossus's re-tracking has mad it smooth as glass. No shakiness or bumpiness.

-RRE isn't very popular, but it sure is fast for a kid's ride.

-Revolution has gotten to a point where its no longer rideable, those OTSR's need to either get lost or they need to install straps instead. It's sad to see such a great ride get no love just because of a public fear of falling out on a loop. *rolls eyes*

CANT WAIT FOR GREEN LANTERN!

I hope the audio is fixed when I go next week. Other then that I agree with Revolution being non ride able. Such a great ride lost to an un logical public fear .

^Not public fear, it's SF policy. The public is quite aware that you can go upside down with just a lap bar; Montezooma's Revenge at KBF serves as an example.

That being said, I got to ride it before the OTSR's came in, and yeah, its a wildly different ride now. We don't talk about it much anymore because all hope is lost, but many people hope one day for at least a retrofit with more comfortable harnesses.
