stricklandCC
^^^Scott: I totally agree! When we rode that back in...I don't remember, I loved it, easily still in my top 5. I don't think many others feel the same though.
Ace Of Spades
Haha, I meant without stating the obvious. But I am considering getting them depending on the response. A 15-30min queue I can deal with. Why do I recognize your username from somewhere? Â Anyway, I went a few days ago (same park hours), and if you're willing to sacrifice shorter lines for Tatsu and X2, I've found that the best idea is to high tail it to the back of the park and ride Terminator, the DC coasters, and Goliath first (re-rides!) and save the others for later in the day. We managed to get in every major coaster (save Tatsu and Scream!) in the same timeframe with that plan. Â Oh, and Riddler's single rider line is your friend! ebl
With all the walking and climbing involved, $10.50/hour sounds kind of low. However, with me looking for work right now, I'd think about it if nothing else pans out. And I guess it'd be fun to get to walk coaster track. Bolliger&Mabillard
^I'm quite sure it applies for both. My guess is that this is for the structure of these rides and not necessarily for the coaster operation of it. I'd imagine its just patching up boards and loose nails. It's still a stepping stone to alot more responsibilities, though.
ebl
^ I suppose I could drive a tram for $8/hour. Â Of course, any job at SFMM would require a 40-mile drive each way for me. Â Eric

I don't think many others feel the same though. Â Yeah Flashback was always one of my favorites I never found it to be the monster is gets made out to be. I got to ride it in its final monts of operation and it was a bit rougher but not unbearable, I always get a much more severe beating from an SLC or an older Arrow Looper to tell you the truth
ebl
^ My only problem with Flashback was with its restraints. They were identical to the OTSRs on Revolution, which slam-bang-smash your head every time there was even a little bump or jolt on the track. I know they were that way because of the tight clearances, but I think they could have been designed better. Â Eric
TheCoasterGuy
^Agreed. But, have you noticed (I'm asking this to everyone) that with Al Weber in charge, that he's already making things more like Paramount did, where they're trying to make it more based around movies (warner in this case)? Â Actually, Al Weber isn't in charge. He only took control temporarily while they found a new President and CEO. Weber is now back to being the COO. James Reid-Anderson was named the Chairman, President, and CEO back on August 13th. He has an extensive background of running multi-billion dollar companies, so Six Flags is pretty small potatoes for him. I'm anxious to see how he does at not only making the company profitable again, but also growing it. Â Also, the reason I think we're seeing the focus on the DC and Looney Tune characters is because they cancelled all of their other licensing deals. They still have licenses to use these characters so they might as well use them and get their money's worth.
ebl
While it was good for Six Flags to explore other properties, they'll always be known for the Looney Tunes characters. I hope they don't get rid of those anytime soon. Â Eric

Or that one of them isn't allowed to express a thought or an idea because of their title? Don't underestimate how much weight a suggestion by a very experienced person in a very influential corporate position could have, even if they are not the CEO of a company. Bolliger&Mabillard
^Very True. JR Anderson may not have the experience in the amusement industry that Weber has, which means I'm sure his advice is often sought after in board meetings.

Geauga Dog
I agree, Flashback had so much potential to be a great fun coaster and new restraints would have improved the ride quite a bit... Â Though I only got to see the ride SBNO when I was there in 2001 I wonder if Intamin would consider bringing back the concept now that design technology and the restraints have vastly improved since the Space Diver was first introduced. It was definitely an interesting take on what could be a vertical Wild Mouse.

I would love to see that happen even a slight redesign to the layout opening up some of the tight clearances so it would only require lap bars would be great. They were identical to the OTSRs on Revolution, which slam-bang-smash your head every time there was even a little bump or jolt on the track. I know they were that way because of the tight clearances, but I think they could have been designed better. The coaster was originally designed to be put on the German traveling fair circuit. It wasn't meant to be a permanent installation. It only became one when the showman that was buying the ride deal fell through. The original designs and blueprints did not have OTSRs on the ride. Those came later...after Six Flags got ahold of the ride.  The restraints DID come from the same company that made the ones for Revolution. They were an after-market addition and it would seem that not much thought was put into rider comfort.  Personally, I thought the ride was a complete mess. It wasn't thrilling enough to appeal to the thrill seekers and it wasn't family friendly enough to appeal to everyone. And it hurt like hell. Even without the OTSR's I couldn't see that the ride would have been very successful.  There's a reason why a second one was never built. Sidra
I don't want to alarm anyone, but it seems that Hell has indeed freezed over and I may be going to the park tomorrow!!?!?!?!  I'm considering a trip too. Just not sure I want to commit to a 2 hour drive. I'm itching for a real coaster ride and I don't think I can wait for WCB.  My kiddo got a season pass for Christmas she wants to go through the gate with.  So maybe we'll (Calicoasters, his girlfriend, my daughter and myself) see you tomorrow.
