The Six Flags Magic Mountain (SFMM) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

-Deja vu single ride line was closed.

-Mike

I noticed that too, but the two times I rode last week I still walked up the single rider queue. The first time I told the grouper that there was an empty row and he let me through. The second time I checked with the unload side first before walking all the way around, he said single rider was open even though the chain was still up. I didn't really need it the second time since it was pretty early and the line was only about a train deep, but there was an opening so I got right on anyway.

Perhaps they didnt realize the line was closed off?

I realise that this thread has taken a new turn but thanks to those who responded to my question. Hadn't realised the lines would be so big even for opening. I had planned to arrive about 10am for 1030 opening. Looks like it may still be a big wait for X2 then.

With my online ticket is it easy to get in? And where and when is the best place to get the flashpasses?

^Mr. Six just came out of the closet and all you can talk about is DJV's single ride line?!?

What's wrong with you?!?

^^

This counts as a SFMM update and won't be deleted. Neither will a full page of "I'm Gay"

Mention the lockers (that are actually IN the park) however....

I know Mike's closet adventures may not be on topic but at least it's interesting and funny. The locker debate was an endless loop of stupidity over such an unimportant policy. I don't see why you're butt hurt over this.

I would like to make it to the park before school starts again...I need a break from work. Maybe then I can renew my interest in coasters...

Unimportant is an opinion not shared by all. Interesting and funny is an opinion not shared by all.... which is a good thing, many voices and many opinions is a good thing. I'm not trying to stop their fun, but I am using it an example of how they may be trying to stop others. How do we know when the moderators will find something off topic "funny and interesting" and when they won't? The "I'm Gay" page is as off topic as anything here, but it became front page material. What stuff will others of us find interesting and funny but never get to see because the moderators found it off topic and cut it?

I don't have a problem curtailing threads that get out of control. It did go on far too long. All I'm saying is after getting our hands slapped for going off topic, it is pretty hypocritical for the moderators to take part in this one. The policy Jahan should have stated is apparently "We'll be pruning off topic posts, but only those that we don't like or don't agree with. It's your board, and your thread, do with it what you will... but you run the danger of limiting the board to one voice and one opinion. Drink the kool-aid or leave.

Speaking of untucked shirts and cell phones in the park, LLC employees would get fired on the spot if a supervisor were to see one of us texting even off the clock or walking around with an untucked shirt. It's pretty bad when it comes to some of the retail workers.

^^Mr. Six being gay is the update to end all updates for Six Flags. The locker policy argument was honestly just a stupid revolving door. 14 pages WAS excessive no matter how much you say the charging of one dollar is hurting your well being.

^^ Missing the point entirely.

I'm not defending 14 pages of locker arguments. I thought I made that clear when I said

I'm attacking the stance the mods have taken with regards to off topic posts. They say they'll remove them, but they aren't really. They're only removing those that they don't like. They advertise the ones that they do. They impose their judgment of what is funny enough to be off topic yet can stay on the board. It's their board and it is up to them to censor it as they see fit, but to say that they are removing a post because it is off topic is not honest because they are leaving plenty of very off topic stuff around (and even taking part in it).

For the record, I'm not saying things should be cut at all. I am of the laissez faire mindset. More voices, more opinions = more interesting discussion. Lately it's been feeling like the mods are only interested in opinions they agree with.

As a mod I'm slightly irked by your remarks. For one, we aren't prowling around looking for stupid posts and threads awaiting to lock them. And we certainly don't have ulterior motives in regards to who/what is acceptable and/or cool. If you had any idea how many completely stupid threads we delete before anyone even sees them.....oy.

This thread has gotten of course so many times by moronic discussion, I don't see how a silly little joke that took up a page and a half, could get anyones knickers in a bunch. Especially one that Robb is obviously partaking in.

This is also a lesson. Don't visit the Alveys, and forget to log off. You've been warned.

^^ And Mike works for Magic Mountain, so technically, it is a Magic Mountain update. I'm sure if there are any other MM employees that wish to come out of the closet, TPR would gladly have them do so in the MM update thread as well.

Oh, and congrats to you Mike. Coming out is a wonderful and glorious experience. Hope it was filled with many huge moments.

Frist off, don't take things so seriously.

Secondly, it's our site. If we choose to have a little "fun", we will.

Third, read our disclaimer:

if you don't have a sense of humor, or are easily offended, please turn back now!

Every once in a while we may take a break from discussing Deja Vu's single rider line and lockers for 14 pages....

DEAL WITH IT!

Umm the flash passes are bought at the Flash pass center that's on the map! And you will save time with your online ticket because you won't have to wait in the tix. booth lines!

To deviate from the off-topic posting about posts being off-topic I have a MM question!

Being from the east coast I haven't yet visited the park and I was wondering if you have any future plans of including it in a TPR trip as that would be the best way for me to go and get my moneys worth out've a west coast adventure.

I realize it is your home park and thus you do events there rather then trips (West coast bash etc.) but I was just curious!

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: If this is more appropriate in a different thread feel free to move or delete it or let me know!
