DJeXeL
I may be wrong, but wasn't the evac platform added after it got stuck @ Knotts? Correct. The evac platform was a modification to try and get the ride to re-open. I suspect Mondial and KBF could never get it to work correctly or efficiently enough to allow DOSH to approve it. The EVAC procedures (Or lack thereof depending how you look at it) isn't the reason the ride never reopened.
PeoplemoverMatt
Any possible ways it could get to SFMM. Obviously a ride has to be taken away for space, but i'd love a long ride with no brakes.

SoCal_Coaster
Since the announcement of TC, I have been dying to ride it, not just because it looks like an amazing ride, but I also love RMC's. So far I have ridden three in this order from favorite to least favorite: NTag, WC, and IRat. For those who have ridden TC, where do you think it will rank in that order and in your personal order. Thank you!

Thank you! TC is the only RMC I've ridden, so I can't compare it to other RMC's but it's my new #1 overall coaster. There's just so many cool elements to it along with 18-19 moments of airtime. You are just constantly out of your seat on TC, I've never ridden anything with so much airtime. The ride time is long since you do both sides and the dueling really adds to the ride experience. And the Top Gun stall is probably my favorite element ever on a coaster. It's just amazing to be on a coaster and see another coaster hanging upside down above you. I was at the promo shoot for TC and ended up riding it 19 times in one day and I would've ridden it 19 more if they would've let me. RMC really delivered a world class ride experience with TC. Same with me. TC is the only RMC I've ridden, but it jumped easily to #1 on my list. I rode it 9 times in a row, and I was astounded every time at the pure uniqueness of the ride experience. I only hope that I can now ride the others, to compare!
DJeXeL
The maintenance ladder on the inside of the tower is a single spine ladder and Cal-OSHA regulations require all ladders in CA to have a double spine. To replace this ladder with a Cal-OSHA accepted, double spine ladder, Mondial would need to redesign the entire tower for which it was obviously more feasible for CF to simply relocate Windseeker to a state (In this case Missouri) where single spine ladders are allowed. From Cal-OSHA's site: (5) The rungs of an individual-rung ladder shall be so designed that the climber's foot cannot slide off the end of a rung. A suggested design for metal rungs is shown in Fig. 4. Ladder. A ladder is an appliance usually consisting of two side rails joined at regular intervals by crosspieces called steps, rungs, or cleats, on which a person may step in ascending or descending. Jew
^While I know you used to work there so I have no reason to doubt you, something about that doesn't seem to add up. I'm not sure why DOSH would have initially approved that and then gone back on it. I'm assuming maintenance guys could just be harnessed in? Also seems weird considering that climbing on ride track to check for stress fractures is a standard industry requirement... DJeXeL
^I agree that it shouldn't have been approved initially, but it was. V2 @ SFMW (SFDK) shouldn't have been green lit either, but it was. Then had to be modified once the city realized it was over the height restriction. After Windseeker's downtime incident, that ladder on the inside of the tower became the elephant in the room. dylanreich
How crowded is the park on the 4th? Apparently crowds are pretty light at Great Adventure, so I was optimistically thinking things might be the same at SFMM.
dannyboy13
Rode TC for the first time today.... Holy crap what an amazing ride. Now, almost all of my coaster riding has been in California, but it immediately became #1 on my list. So much freaking airtime and so many other cool elements. Kinda of bummed that it only dueled once out kd my three rides on it today, but even without that haooe jng it's an absolutely incredible ride. The dueling ride came on our last ride of the night, around 930. Great ride in the night. Being from NorCal, I really really really hope the Roar SFDK rumors are true. RMC is amazing. Fire2box
I wouldn't hold your breath on that. A lot of us were hoping what turned out to be YOLOcoaster would be a giga that utilized the terrain available... I still like my idea however stupid and insane it may be. Remove Viper and build a *big* coaster in it's space, up and over the water rapids ride and take up deja Vu's old space, Then come back over the rapids ride to complete it's loop. Though maybe it would be better to start it's line where daja vu was just to get it put of Tatsu/X2's area.
DoubleDown
If they're going to go the hyper/giga route I just don't want one of those dumb forceless cookie cutter out and back B&M Coasters. If they install anything I hope it's Intamin and I hope it concentrates on forces, laterals, and airtime rather than just boring floater air after floater air. The idea of putting it in the back of the park is fine, its station could be where Deja Vu used to sit, but there's especially no reason to remove the iconic, photogenic, and still very fun to ride Viper. Whatever the issue is on Goliath I understand how the inspectors in California are and what not, but I guess I don't get why Magic Mountain do a run through on the ride to find this issue when the chain broke? This way they could fix the issue with the lift hill during the 3 months they've been waiting for the chain! That's what frustrates me. Goliath isn't even one of my must rides in the park when I go, so personally it makes no difference to me. I just wish they'd have the forethought to kinda get their s*** together because I remember being younger and getting 1 trip a year during the summer to the park, and if one of my favorite rides was unexpectedly down, it kinda sucked! Jew
Engineering isn't what I would call a simple profession. Considering a roller coaster involves structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering components all having to work together...it's not as simple as "fixing the issue while waiting for the chain." If someone could design a major ride that has 100% uptime, every single park in the world would want to buy one.

Tmcdllr
I'd love a giga like fury 325 Any possible ways it could get to SFMM. Obviously a ride has to be taken away for space, but i'd love a long ride with no brakes. Why is this obvious, is there really no more room for a ride such as this? How do you know this for sure? Do you just assume the park must do that and they would not be able to figure out how to get a big ride like that in there anywhere? Please.... let's NOT go down the "park is out of room" road....again!

TyRush
Just from looking at aerial views, isn't there a good amount of land behind Tasu? Long narrow strip, perfect for your giga There seems to be plenty of room, very doubtful that you'll be running out anytime soon

Superbatboy
A giga would just be way too expensive in earthquake prone California. Goliath cost $30 million with only a 4,500 track length. I can't image what the price would be for a ride the size of Fury Unless they were able to some how use a lot of the hilly terrain, thus reducing the amount steel necessary for supports (like they did with FT). I still think it would extremely expensive for frugal Six Flags.

It'd be nice to see them use the mountain as I wish FT had done (which some thought was going to be a giga).
