haux Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Thread of the year. I just realized that saying "Have a magic day" makes sense considering the park is Six Flags Magic Mountain. I didn't understand it at first, but I'm kind of an idiot.
Moose Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Umm the flash passes are bought at the Flash pass center that's on the map! And you will save time with your online ticket because you won't have to wait in the tix. booth lines! Apparently you can get vouchers for the Flash Passes online now. (Note this is not just a SFMM thing). Does anyone know if doing this would reduce the wait time for them?
larrygator Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Being from the east coast I haven't yet visited the park and I was wondering if you have any future plans of including it in a TPR trip as that would be the best way for me to go and get my moneys worth out've a west coast adventure. TPR is planning to have a West Coast (California) US Trip in 2009.

Bolliger&Mabillard Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Sorry, I typed this whole long lecture on how I felt about the off topic posting, but that earthquake right now kinda screwed that up. here's the whole thing in a nutshell. I know that the architects who built this site from the ground up don't want it "tarnished" or flooded with stupidity. I mean, there's enough stupidity in the world already, so why bring it here? I get that and agree with it totally 100%. But when it gets to the point that opinions are abridged or invalidated, then that defeats the purpose of a "forum" and is no longer a forum by definition. I know not everyone is as coaster saavy as others, not does everyone have the same "facts". But its when you bring that cluster of what you, me and this guy knows do we try to find whats really the issue. Sometimes that takes 14 pages of what a few people thinks is stupid. After all if a stupid topic can span 14 pages, it may not be that stupid after all. You have my word, that this will be the last INTENTIONAL off topic post in this, or any board on this site. -Eric
ebl Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 If we say that Mike came out of the "locker" instead of "closet," would that be off-topic? Eric
robbalvey Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 After all if a stupid topic can span 14 pages, it may not be that stupid after all. Yes it can be...
dammie16@vt.edu Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Thanks to LarryGator, and hello to a fellow NYer as I'm originally from Nassau County! woot
TheRapidsNerd Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 First, Congrats to Mike. I'm sure he's feeling a great swelling of pride...or something. Second, I didn't understand it at first, but I'm kind of an idiot. Haux, you have a sense good sense of humor and a sharp wit. Idiots don't come up with good captions or zingers. Third, TPR is a fun site once you get how it works. Take it from the tempermental (yet lovable) mullet guy. The "I'm Gay" update this morning was great! I did a double take.
PeoplemoverMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 People don't complain much about 14 pages of locker discussion but get their knickers in a twist about less than 2 pages of "I'm gay" ? That should explain all that there needs to be explained about this. Off-topic: God was pissed that Mike came out of the closet. The quake is all your fault Mike!!!!
cooksta77 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 After all if a stupid topic can span 14 pages, it may not be that stupid after all. Yes it can be... That's true! 14 pages of locker discussion... In my opinion pointless! _______________________________________________________________ Off Topic: So. Cal's Earthquake today was cool! _______________________________________________________________
robbalvey Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 So how could be possibly follow up the Mr.Six is gay post with something better? How about KidTums at Magic Mountain photos? There are only 4 of them, but they are all awesome! Elissa "This is more like it!" KT: "Can we go back on the Frog Hopper?!!?" Of course she LOVES it!!! KidTums' first Frog Hopper! She looks excited, but Elissa is not so sure.... "I'm driving a truck...drivin' a big ol truck..."
Scaparri Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 You know, when KidTums goes to school and has to do all of those family and 'when I was younger' projects, she's totally going to have the coolest baby pictures of the class.
Moose Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Kristen's face on the frog hopper is absolutely adorable. Off-topic: God was pissed that Mike came out of the closet. The quake is all your fault Mike!!!! or he was excited and shook his bootay in delight.
thrillgeek Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 OMG that's the cutest kid tums pic I've seen yet! Thanks for sharing Rob!!!
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 ^^^^Haha, Weird Al reference FTW. The look on KidTums face is priceless.
John Peck Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Ah.. the Weird Al reference.. you beat me to it! I bet Elissa had as much fun as Kid Tums just watching her.
cooksta77 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I went to SFMM today and it went very well the X2 crew was very fast I think there was apoint were it broke for about 20 minutes but other than that 2 and a half to 3 minutes on loading and unloading! Tatsu was was not crowded and Goliath was a walk-on! The crew for Tatsu was a little lagging but not too bad but X2 also turned the Fire effect off! All in all a very good day at SFMM!
sixflagsmagicmountain Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 ^Was the fire off all day? Or only for part of the day? Or did they just stop doing it entirely for the time being? I haven't been to the mountain in a while.
cooksta77 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I found out the fire was probebly turned off because it reached 99 at the mountain 2day! I went on a night ride and the fire was on so i think it was because of the 99 degree heat! The fog was also turned on at night after the first drop and after the second Raven loop! That supprised me!
Andy 24 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Deja Vu got stuck again yesterday. Here is a video of it (not mine). Did they reopen it today or was it still closed?
Jew Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I'm guessing it was open. The ride is designed to valley in that section.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Even to this day I wonder if the fire effect was a good fit for the ride. It looks cool and everything, but for a park that has an average temperature of 100 degrees in the summer, it can get a little uncomfortable.
SFMM162op Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 the only time when those effects make sense is at night when you actually get the full sense of them otherwise durring the day they are somewhat a waste of time
