coasternut Posted August 25, 2025 Posted August 25, 2025 Just to let you know. Those planning to go to Magic Mountain and ride Twisted Colossus, you'll be disappointed. This is from some inside information. One of the lift chains snapped recently. I'm sure these are custom made, so it will be closed for sometime - sadly. Also there is a sign at the entrance saying it's closed.

coasternut Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 Twisted Colossus is now open. It could not have been a broken lift chain. The moose was lying! 3
ryder Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Can confirm it was open, I was in the park today. However, I did notice that Riddler was down and a crane was over it. Could the rumor possibly be for that instead?

statchmoe Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 RIDE BUDDY Anyone looking for a ride buddy for Magic Mountain or Knott's? I just got my Prestige Pass and want to go more often then anyone I know. I also have some ways to help with ride waits,. so that's a nice plus. Let me know if you are in a similar situation and would like to set up a meet at either destination. Thanks, Ron

CedarFlags Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 Are we ever gonna get an announcement for that supposed family invert that's replacing Golden Bear Theater? Or was this another "leaked Knott's giga blueprint" kind of situation?
CaptainUnknown Posted September 24, 2025 Posted September 24, 2025 It's more of a Six Flags cutback kind of situation. Land was cleared, signs teasing a new attraction were in the park. Maybe it's still on? Maybe Vekoma needs some more time with the design?
rba13 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Went to Magic Mountain last week and was disappointed Log Jammer, Spinout, and Swiss Twist were no longer operational. And SPILLIKIN CORNER is no longer there. The new Six Flags has run this park into the ground. I'm particularly sad to see these attractions go, as they were all unique and fun rides that had a lot of character. It's a shame to see these classic attractions disappear. I hope Six Flags will invest in new attractions that can recapture the magic of what used to be.

Based on you calling it "Swiss Twist" I have to guess that your last trip there was pre-1993, when the ride was renamed. You know that Log Jammer has been gone for almost 15 years now (removed in 2011), and they still have another log flume, right? Spinout and and Sierra (nee Swiss) Twist have been gone since 2008. I agree that Rotors and Bayern Kurves are fun rides, but all things wear out eventually. The Spillikin Corner area of the park is still there, it's just called something else. Like did you seriously not expect the park to change in literally over 30 years? Yeah, legacy SF parks aren't the best, but these are all something to complain about, especially this long after the fact. 2

The narrative that Jet Stream is a log flume is a product of linguistic convenience rather than technical accuracy. By virtue of its hydro-dynamic hull, its speedboat aesthetic, and its pioneering status as the first of the Hydro Flume line, Jet Stream stands as a sophisticated evolution of the genre. It is a high-speed aquatic racer that happens to use a flume—but it is certainly no log.

ryder Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I'm surprised you didn't mention that the Scrambler, The Flash/Musik Express, Enterprise, Zforce, Flashback, Mountain Express, Galaxy, Jolly Monster, Metro, Skyway, Circus Wheel, Crazy Barrels, El Bumpo, Dragon, the Ski Show/Magic Lake, and Magic Pagoda are all gone now, too. I hope somebody told you that Magic Flyer, Tweety's Escpae, and Speedy Gonzalez Hot Rod are also leaving, too. 1 2

There will be something fun waiting in every direction. Construction begins this January, and we can’t wait to share each milestone! Follow along for more updates as we track the progress of Looney Tunes™ Land coming to life. #LooneyTunesLand https://ktla.com/news/theme-parks/looney-tunes-land-is-coming-to-six-flags-magic-mountain-in-2026/ Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced a major overhaul of its Bugs Bunny World family area. The area will be reimagined and renamed Looney Tunes Land, divided into four themed areas inspired by Bugs Bunny, the Tasmanian Devil, Wile E. Coyote and Daffy Duck. Park officials say the update will include refreshed attractions, new play spaces and expanded theming throughout the area. The land is scheduled to debut in summer 2026. At the heart of the new land will be a cozy central park, where Bugs Bunny welcomes guests into his home. In the other areas, visitors will traverse the New Mexico desert in pursuit of the Road Runner with Wile E. Coyote, explore lush tropical regions alongside Taz and take in the High Sierra with Daffy Duck. TAZ-MANIA The Tasmanian Devil-themed section will feature a tropical setting. The Whistlestop Train will be rethemed as Taz’s Tasmanian Train Tours, taking guests through the area. However, be warned: the Tasmanian Devil has escaped his enclosure and is set to wreak havoc along the way. A new Taz’s Exploration Trail will replace the former Magic Flyer and Tweety’s Escape locations, offering a walk-through experience with interactive elements. New seating and turf are also planned. ROAD RUNNER RIDGE Inspired by the New Mexico desert, this area centers on Wile E. Coyote’s pursuit of the Road Runner. The zone will include desert rockwork, ACME-themed details and a painted tunnel meant to evoke the look of classic cartoons. BUGS BUNNY PLAY PARK The Bugs Bunny-themed section will replace Speedy Gonzalez Hot Rods and Pepe Le Pew’s Tea Party. Plans include new free-play and exploration areas, as well as a refurbished Merrie Melodies Merrie-Go-Round with updated colors and signage. The restaurant Wascal’s will also be refreshed, with new picnic seating and a redesigned exterior. A new Granny’s House facade with an explorable interior is planned for the back of the restaurant. CAMP DUCK AMUCK In the Daffy Duck-themed area, Taz’s Trucking Company will become Daffy’s Forest Four-Wheelers, a ride that places guests in ranger-style vehicles. The High Sierra-inspired zone will feature updated scenery, character scenes and signage focused on conservation and outdoor safety. The Looney Tunes Lodge will also be rethemed to resemble a mountain cabin and receive new flooring. The transformation of the family area into Looney Tunes Land is set to begin in early January, following the Holiday in the Park seasonal event. The process will be conducted in three phases, with access to areas not undergoing construction open to the public. The introduction of the new land will also coincide with Six Flags’ 55th anniversary. It’s also part of the company’s multi-year focus on the park, which began with the complete refurbishment and improvement of Hurricane Harbor in 2025. Last year, the company announced a $1 billion investment over the next two years to enhance the guest experience. 1
rba13 Posted Saturday at 05:51 PM Posted Saturday at 05:51 PM I am absolutely thrilled for the kids—Six Flags Magic Mountain is finally giving them the world-class area they deserve! The park just announced that Bugs Bunny World is transforming into the all-new Looney Tunes Land, and it sounds like a dream come true for families when it opens in Summer 2026. They are splitting the area into four immersive zones, and there is so much for the little ones to explore: Adventures Around Every Corner Taz-Mania: The kids are going to love the new Taz’s Exploration Trail—an interactive walk-through perfect for burning off that extra energy. Plus, the train is getting reimagined as Taz’s Tasmanian Train Tours, which will be such a fun family ride. Road Runner Ridge: Imagine their faces seeing a real-life "painted tunnel" and ACME gadgets in the desert zone! It’s going to feel like stepping right into a cartoon. Bugs Bunny Play Park: This is huge—they are adding new free-play areas (essential for toddlers!) and finally opening up Granny’s House for them to explore inside. Camp Duck Amuck: The little thrill-seekers can hop into rugged ranger vehicles on the new Daffy’s Forest Four-Wheelers. A Better Experience for Parents & Kids It’s not just about the rides; the whole atmosphere is getting an upgrade to make the day easier for families: Better Breaks: Wascal’s restaurant is getting a total redesign with new picnic-style seating, making lunch time way less stressful. Comfier Play: They are putting in new turf and seating areas at the Looney Tunes Lodge, plus "lush" landscaping to make the whole land feel fresh and inviting. Construction starts this January, and I honestly can’t wait to see the kids exploring all this in 2026! 1
rba13 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago https://ktla.com/news/local-news/six-flags-magic-mountain-teases-new-roller-coaster-here-are-the-plans/ Six Flags Magic Mountain teases new roller coaster. Here are the plans Construction hasn’t started yet, but Six Flags Magic Mountain continues to tease the public with small updates on its ambitious new roller coaster project. In a weekend post to social media, the Valencia, California, theme park shared footage of blue sections of the track spread out on a dirt lot with the brief caption: “The skyline won’t be the same.” Officially, Six Flags has shared very little about the new ride, which was originally expected to open in 2026 but has been pushed back to 2027. “We’ll have more on the coaster a little later this year and more construction movement,” a park spokesperson told KTLA on Tuesday. Coaster enthusiasts, however, have discovered the design plans in Los Angeles County’s electronic permitting website. see more at link: https://ktla.com/news/local-news/six-flags-magic-mountain-teases-new-roller-coaster-here-are-the-plans/ 1
rba13 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago The King of Coasters Reclaims Its Crown: Why Project 90011 Has Me Counting Down to 2027 If you are a roller coaster enthusiast living in Southern California—or honestly, anywhere in the world—you know that Six Flags Magic Mountain isn't just a theme park. It is the holy grail. It is the "Thrill Capital of the World." For years, we have watched other parks make headlines, but the recent teasers dropping for the new coaster in Valencia have officially sent my hype levels into the stratosphere. We finally have concrete details on what is coming to the mountain, and let me tell you: this isn't just another loop-de-loop. This is a game-changer. The "Thrill Glider" Concept The most exciting part of this news is the hardware itself. According to the KTLA report, the new ride—codenamed Project 90011—is a suspended "Thrill Glider Coaster" designed by the Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. For those who haven't been following industry trends, seeing the name "Vekoma" attached to a major 2027 project is thrilling. Decades ago, the company was known for rougher, "head-banging" rides. But in recent years, they have undergone a massive renaissance, producing some of the smoothest, most innovative, and comfortable coaster experiences on the planet. The fact that Magic Mountain is investing in this specific, modern suspended model suggests we are in for a ride that focuses on the sensation of flight—pure, glass-smooth gliding—rather than just brute force. A Masterclass in Terrain Design One of the things that sets Magic Mountain apart from flat "parking lot" amusement parks is, well, the mountain. The best rides in the park (think Tatsu or Revolution) utilize the unique topography to create thrills you can't replicate on flat ground. That is exactly why I am obsessed with the location for this new project. The park has demolished the Golden Bear Theater to make room for the coaster. While it’s sad to lose a venue with such history (yes, including that legendary scene from This Is Spinal Tap), the trade-off is brilliant. The leaked plans suggest the coaster will use the theater’s hillside slope, weaving through the terrain. Imagine ascending a lift hill that hugs the mountainous landscape, then dropping into a series of sweeping turns and inversions that dive in and out of the natural geography. The renderings from enthusiasts suggest the ride will incorporate the old cement seating area of the theater into the terrain, meaning we might be flying directly over the "ghosts" of concerts past. It’s a brilliant way to mix park history with modern thrills. The Skyline Change Six Flags teased us with the caption, "The skyline won't be the same," and they aren't kidding. The footage of the blue track spread out on the dirt lot is a tangible promise of what's to come. In a park already crowded with steel giants, adding a suspended coaster that interacts with the skyline in a new way is going to visually refresh the entire center of the park. The Wait Will Be Worth It We now know the opening has been pushed from 2026 to 2027. While a delay is usually a bummer, in this case, I’m taking it as a positive sign. It means they aren't rushing. It means they are taking the time to get this complex terrain interaction right. With Universal Studios Hollywood building their “Fast & Furious” coaster down the road, the pressure is on. Magic Mountain knows they have to deliver something spectacular to keep their crown. This ride is being called one of the most ambitious projects the park has built in 20 years. That puts it in the same conversation as X2 or Tatsu. If Project 90011 delivers even half of what these plans promise, 2027 can't get here fast enough. 1
