DINING PASS: does anyone have one? Just two questions if someone could help..... [1] what qualifies as lunch hours and dinner hours? [2] how do you get your meal? Do you show them your season pass and do a biometric scan like at the gate?

My daughter and I both have the dining pass. I've seen in a few places a time period that denotes lunch and dinner. But didn't pay attention. Basically there are two meals loaded per day. No biometrics. Just hand your season pass to the cashier when you order. Remember only limited menu items available for the meals.

I got one for SFDK.

Hours vary, over here they are printed on the bottom of show schedules. Which are in with the general park map stand('s).

As for meals, they take my season pass and scan the barcode or enter the ID number. The never asked for ID or finger print scan. They are worth it if you go 5 times and get both meals, though I rarely finish all of my food since I rarely eat a lot at once. 4 chicken strips and like 45 meh tasting french fries is pretty filling.

Speaking of fingerprinting and whatnot...

I got my 2015 Gold Pass and they never took a photo or fingerprint for either of us. They wrote our names on the back and at the gate just scanned the passes and let us into the park. Did they fail to do something they should have? It really seems like I could hand my pass to anyone and they could get into the park. Is it just Magic Mountain who doesn't put the picture on the front or are all Six Flags parks doing that now? I've always gotten my pass at SFDK so this is my first time getting it at Magic Mountain.

From my experience, the dining pass hours are enforced. However most employees are unaware of the restrictions, so if you try to buy dinner past 7 30, they will try to ring it through, and the system will deny the card. This will probably just result in comfusion and you can probably convince them to give you your dinner. They may give you a warning about when dinner ends, or they may refuse you right away if they've increased awareness of the specifics of the program to their employees.

I generally just abide by the times when possible.

As for the post above me, they will probably scan your fingerprint next time you go. Every once in a while they let people in the main gate without finger scans to alleviate massive lines, I assume you attended while this was the case.

I've had the dinning pass for a year and I like it.

They do have certain meal times however I've had a few times where I got stuck in a long line and then was able to redeem my pass at like 7:40 or when the line of the concession is long they wrote down my season pass number and had a manager override it.

When you scan your Season Pass ID at the turnstiles to enter the park, your meals for the day will automatically be added to your Season Pass card. If you arrive before 3:30 p.m., then both lunch and dinner will be added. If you arrive after 3:30 p.m., only dinner will be added. As you're enjoying the park, you simply stop by one of the participating dining locations and present your Season Pass ID when placing your order for lunch or dinner. The Six Flags Team Member will verify the photo on the Season Pass and serve you your meal. If you wish to order any additional items, you'll pay for them at that time.

Lunch is 11:30- 3:30 and dinner is usually 4:30-7:30 (or earlier if the park closes)

Huricane Harbor hrs are slightly different. I believe they start at 11am. However I got just the MM one since you can easily walk over to MM and MM has better food IMHO with JB's and Food ECT

Thanks Fire2box + JeromyL ... one additional question... for the dinner times, does it end when "dinner" ends (which I think is 7:30pm) or when the park closes? (which could be much later).

normally it ends 2 and half-4 hours after "dinner" starts but the times are fincky and will vary every week or at least every month due to odd park hours for the "off season". During fright fest dinner times for me ended about 2 and a half hours before the park closed. Anyways the park should be handing out schedules of when lunch and dinner starts and ends, don't be shy to ask guest relations about the season dining passes.

2015 passes no longer have photos, it's a finger print scan now. At SFDK there's no finger print scanners at the food vendors and they don't ask for a ID to check the name written down on the pass.

I have a friend where this exact thing happened... she came on a busy Fright Fest night to activate her Gold Pass, but they didn't do her biometric scan. What happens the next time she goes to the park? Do they eventually make her scan?

I don't understand why SFMM does not post this schedule on their website? Their lunch/dinner hours (even general information) does not show up on their site! Fright Fest (fri/sat) closed at 1am, were you able to still get dinner at 10:30pm? All of this important information I would think, for people who have a dining pass :/

Do they at least read the hand-written name on the Season Pass ID? If I had my BF wait in line to get my dinner, instead of myself, would that be an issue?

Nope they just scan the barcode, though even if they do read the name they never asked for ID yet. However, I'll probably never not go to SFDK because even on busy as hell days I could still see the animals and shows.

i think the latest I saw dinner end at frightfest was like 8:30 pm. I only went on sundays too so it was like 9 PM closing times. Either way if you get there before 1 pm, you should get both meals.

Speaking of the dining pass and times...Six Flags did a very "used car salesmen" thing by burying the details of the pass in the fine print and being as vague as possible. The FAQ only says "lunch and dinner," without a mention of being locked into certain times.

If you bother to read the fine print at the bottom, it states "Designated lunch and dinner timeframes vary by day" without providing any additional details.

Yeah, I had no idea about "times" when I activated mine. Just assumed two meals per day. Only reason I knew about the meal times was that I saw it posted in one of the restaurants.

I have a couple questions tho, me and my bf were planning on getting the season dining passes next month. im confused about the 2 for 90 bucks deal. when you get to the quantity selection it does not let you pick 2, instead its 4 or more. is there something Im not understanding about this "deal"? all I want are 2 passes for the 90 bucks each. can someone please explain how this works? also, for how much longer is this price valid?

I just took a look at the site. While the 2 or more season dining passes are listed for $90/each, the fine print says that they had to be processed at the park by Nov. 2nd. I tried to add two to my cart just to see what would happen, and got the same issue you did. But when you view the deal in the cart, it says they are offering a "4 or more" deal that must be processed by 1/4/15. So it looks like the deal you were looking to get may have ended, and the site hasn't been updated to reflect the new sale where you must buy and process 4 or more season dining passes. I believe that this is also how the regular season passes were set up this year- for the Labor Day Flash sale, you could buy any quantity of 2015 season passes at the discounted price (plus get the free upgrade to Gold plus Hurricane Harbor), but since that sale ended you now have to buy 4 or more season passes to get a discount. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong- I already got my 2015 pass (plus dining) during the flash sale, so I haven't paid much attention to the current sales since then.

I would contact SFMM to see if this is the case (or go to Guest Relations if you're going to the park anytime soon): https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/contact-us

It looks like this is the new deal- 4 or more season dining passes at $90/each if they are all purchased and processed by 1/4/15, otherwise an upcharge to full price is required.

I highlighted the part that shows that 2 or more had to be processed by Nov. 2nd. So unless they decided to extend the sale date, this deal has ended.

Obviously as the site says, the timeframes vary, but in my experience it seems like the meal times are generally 11AM-3:30PM for lunch, and then 4:30PM-restaurant closing time for the dinner. So whenever I go I will usually use this as a general guide to planning out my meals, but of course the actual times may be slightly different.

^The point is they don't fully disclose this when selling them online. The average consumer is going to read it as "awesome, two meals a day every time I visit? Or 1if I come late? Sweet!" ...And then have to find out by visiting the restaurants that there are times.

Yikes, good catch!!! I will be calling SFMM tomorrow (Monday) and update this thread. As I'll be there on Tuesday and was hoping to purchase this for $90 for 2 of us. Question: when you purchased your dining pass during the flash sale in September, do you remember how much they had the dining pass for? And if that included meals for the rest of the 2014 season AND 2015? Curious
