dippindotsguy8
Are you saying your restraint on Scream actually unlocked? If this is true you should have notified the ride ops when you returned to the station. Yes actually unlocked only thing holding the restraint is safety belt and i tell ride ops about. singemfrc
Are you sure it was completely unlocked? Those B&M floorless trains have notoriously loose restraints that sometimes feel like they're unlocked when they aren't. I've had that happen on Medusa, for a minute it feels like the restraint is open but it still catches, and you can usually tighten it mid-course. With hydraulic restraints you can't tighten them after you leave the station but it's also virtually impossible for them to inadvertently release. If it was truly fully released I hope they removed that train or at least roped off the seat.
gerstlaueringvar
With hydraulic restraints you can't tighten them after you leave the station You can pull down the hydraulic restraint during the ride. I've never seen a hydraulic restraint that locks it's position in the station and riders can't pull it down further.

colossus_queen
heres a mini TR I guess. X2 is definitely open again!! a little jerky, but i actually didn't pull any muscles this time (that I know of yet) yayyyy! it was extremely hot, at least for me. id say it hit at least 90. yes, superman did "break down" a lot, but was fortunate enough to be there during one of the moments it was running. gold rusher surprisingly had a wait!!!! riddler, yolo, goliath, ninja, and tatsu ran pretty much normally. lots of screaming teenagers on revolution not because they are scared but because they just want to be annoying, and im experiencing that more and more these days! what is up with that? the usual jerkiness I dont mind too much. I did not manage to get in apocalypse, viper (eeeeek, goodness forbid if I ever ride that painful excuse of a coaster ever again), or scream. I managed to snap a couple colossus pics before leaving, but I saw I was beaten to it (as always), im just not fast enough? I have a couple questions tho, me and my bf were planning on getting the season dining passes next month. im confused about the 2 for 90 bucks deal. when you get to the quantity selection it does not let you pick 2, instead its 4 or more. is there something Im not understanding about this "deal"? all I want are 2 passes for the 90 bucks each. can someone please explain how this works? also, for how much longer is this price valid? colossus gap at 1st turn around 2nd turnaround getting prepared for the "treatment" Edited November 9, 2014 by colossus_queen

B&M doesn't use hydraulic restraints other than the vest harness if I remember correctly. Those on Medusa/Scream are ratchet OTSR's.

B&M doesn't use hydraulic restraints other than the vest harness if I remember correctly. Those on Medusa/Scream are ratchet OTSR's. Yeah you're correct. I just meant my habitual tightening of the ratchet OTSRs on the B&M floorless are what make me do the same on other (usually Intamin) hydraulic restraints and then I find they won't tighten like the ratchet ones do. restraint move 4 inches in&out the moment pop open on me if come loose like you say man lots play on it. Yeah thats typical of those restraints. I don't doubt that you honestly feel it was 4 inches, but I'll bet if you went back measured it was less than that. There's a certain amount of space between each ratchet or click on those restraints. If you end up just barely not being able to get one click tighter then it will feel very loose. When that happens it will often get that last click some time during the ride either because you exhale and make yourself skinnier or the forces push it in or both. This is a whole different story from a restraint actually unlocking during a ride. If that happened, it would probably mean mechanical failure of the restraint in which case it wouldn't secure itself halfway through the cycle. Incidentally the real thing did happen to a friend of mine years ago on Goliath. The lap bar had a mechanical failure (Im not sure what failed, this was a long time ago) and never locked when the train was in the station, it was just sitting there. Fortunately Goliath doesnt have any true inversions and the only sketchy part was the tilt after the MCBR. He told the ride ops who took the train off the circuit and I don't know if it was because of this incident or not but not too long after Goliath actually got all new restraints, which I actually like a lot better. singemfrc
^ You're right. Why are we discussing the alleged spontaneous release of a shoulder restraint. That's really not a big deal, that wouldnt be a big deal if someone was hurt or killed as a result of a mechanical failure. There's no reason to talk about that. No one is forcing you to talk about it as well. If you want to talk about IAAPA feel free to do so at the same time; it is possible to have two conversations at once. iloveblueberries
I think that the fact that they have been getting ready to refurbish the scream trains for a while now might mean they are also going to give it a paint job before TC opens. Fire2box
It's unfortunate anyone is gullible enough to actually believe that kid about the harness. I didn't even fully believe about Terminator/apocalypse valleying. I've ridden on Scream a few times and Medusa many times and I've seen/heard restraints feel lose but not ever failing. Anyways asides from the lifthill looking near fully repaired, what else changed on TC's ride layout? The pictures posted I can only see a difference on the lift hill. ::Edit:: oh, I see they removed a large section of the first hill. Not a massive change IMHO but progress. Hope it's very different come the middle of December or January.

Thank you. I, too, am dubious about the restraint "releasing," but I have no way of knowing what really happened. So I do think a lot of speculation about it is pointless. And who else is looking forward to seeing the trains unveiled at IAAPA?

coastercoaster5
hahaha. That would just be so weird. Ill piss myself laughing. While in Goliath yesterday, I noticed them lifting a good amount of pre put together support on the first hill after the speed hills.
