Elissa,

This question just randomly popped into my head but what was you and robbs first ever credit?

Sorry if this is a bit spammy but I was just wandering.

Cheers,

Mine was Matterhorn at Disneyland. My parents dragged me on kicking and screaming when I was a kid. It pretty much turned me off from coasters for the next 10 years!

Its pretty cool that you now do that to your folks!!! You father's expression on Expedition Everest was priceless.

What about Robb, what was his first credit, and what was your first coaster ride together?

I had the honour of riding in the same train when Thunder001's 3 year old got his first credit at Warner Bros Movie World, the little fella loved it, went straight back on.

Robb says:

Space Mountain at WDW...

Kind of funny, he's from California and I'm from Florida, yet our first credits were from each others states!

I guess i'm not the only one who had a lnog stand phobia of coasters after there first credit. I rode my first at 5 and hated coasters until i was 11! 6 years!

I was the same.

Always loved watching and looking at and deigning coasters. Always hated riding them (even though I refused to even try).

My first coaster was Space Mountain at WDW. Right side (Omega), last seat. I refused to ride it again for about 7 years.

When i rode it, I was still afraid every time, but knew I would be okay. When I turned I finally saw a special on Rock 'n' Roller coaster and decided it was finally time to go upside down.

I did, and now all of the sudden I will ride anything.

So, yeah, Robb and I have the same first credit. (Even though Space Mountain is two credits and he might have chosen the other). Thats cool.

But what was your first ride together?

I dont think you answered.

My parents did the same thing to me and I wouldn't go near a coaster for several years. Not ten, but still quite a few. They also lied to me about what the coaster was like. Now it always irks me when I see parents dragging their crying kids onto rides. In most cases it'll just turn the kids away from them.

My first credit was Thunderation at Silver Dollar city in Branson Missouri on the ride when it was going sideways I was hanging on for dear life but back then i was like 9 or 10 my 2nd credit was that exact same day WILD FIRE after that ride I was kind of turned off for over the shoulder restraint rides until 2 years later when I rode Serial Thriller for my first time that was my first Inverted coaster and my 7th credit then the same year I went to Sea world San Antonio and rode Great White and Steel Eel 18th and 19th Credit (Credits in between are other coasters through the years) but Great White is just your regular B&m Batman layout no different First a loop a Zero G Roll another Loop and like 2 corkscrews i think and now I'm all lost on my credits so.. lol but I can still remember the fear in my eyes on my first coaster and the big grin on my face as the 1 minute ride stopped and wanting to go again and again.

Okay... what was your SECOND credit?

Posted

First "credit": The Brat kiddie coaster at Erieview Park in Geneva Ohio but my first real credit (i.e. Adult Coaster) Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. The massive airtime did turn my off from coasters for about 8 years. I rode some smaller ones but in 2000 I literally dove head first into the big ones and I haven't looked back.

The kid climbed out of a closed and LOCKED OTSR in the station!!! WTF!

I was never that scared when i was a kid, roller coasters were more-or-less a novelty i could live without. First credit Black Beard runaway mine train at SFGADv.

I was never forced on a roller coaster I didn't want to go on but I got my mom(who hates any type of ride) to go on disaster transport, because she couldn't really see it. Now that was funny
