  1. Only if you're talking sit down food, I'll take WDW any day over DLR. But as far as counter service, I'd rather have DLR over anything but Epcot at WDW. At least there's some variety in food from place to place in both DLR parks.
  2. Watch your low range, it's not centered on pitch at all.
  3. Not only has Disney done this, but I know that Cedar Point had an event for Magnum's 10th, and Gemini's 25th.
  4. Wow, between this update and R&E's, I am feeling the need to go on another cruise. We had 2nd seating at dinner on the last cruise, and it came in very handy on formal night. I had 4 or 5 lobster tails. Oh, and when did the HRC in Phoenix close. I went to the grand opening of that one when I was at ASU to see Sugar Ray perform live (wasn't very good either). Sad that it failed so quickly.......
  5. ^I actually liked only working one ride (or trio of flat rides when I first started). You get to know the ride really well, to the point that you would know why a breakdown happened before anyone even read out the error code from the computer. Being sent to other rides for a day or two was a nice break, but it always felt great to come back "home" to the ride you operated every day. My first summer was not what I was expecting either. After the interview, they told me I would be placed on a fast-paced major ride. When the contract came in the mail, it was for White Water Landing (definitely not fast paced). I decided it wasn't awful, and I was going for the experience of working at the park more than the experience of working a coaster. Well, when I processed in, they told me that they could really use help at the Chaos/Troika/Super Himalaya triangle for a couple weeks until more people processed in. I could still go to White Water Landing for now, but they were sending people to other rides on a daily basis there anyways because they were so overstaffed. I agreed, and two weeks later I was given the choice of staying at the Chaos triangle, or going over to WWL like I was contracted for (though with less hours). I chose WWL. It was far more boring than working the flats. But I made sure I did a good job and did all I could to make it fun (including singing at the top of my lungs on the catwalk above the drop). Well, they must have noticed, because when I asked to be transferred to Raptor (they had 3 people leave the crew one week), they moved me the next morning. I spent the 2nd half of the summer on one of the best crews in the park, and I made sure to return to that same crew the next year. It really wasn't what I was doing in the park that made the experience so much fun. It was the people I worked with on a daily basis, and the fun we had after park closing. Even in the first two weeks I was there, I felt like I had made a lot of friends, from all over the park. It really was two summers I wouldn't trade for anything. So if you want to work in a park only because you want to work a coaster, you might be a bit disappointed in the experience. But if you want to work in a park for the overall experience, the friendships, and the strange memories you're sure to make, then you should go for it.
  6. I totally ate my way through the fair. Ribs and fries Pink's Chili Cheese Dog Deep fried oreos DEEP FRIED WHITE CASTLE My partner Jeff on the other hand, drank himself through the fair, he stopped by at least 5 of those beer stands. We totally missed the train exhibit
  7. ^Well last I heard anything from Six Flags..... flat rides aren't marketable.
  8. Wow, Kristen is absolutely adorable in those "peace sign" pictures. Of course, she's been practicing it since the Spain trip.
  9. And why the hell is Illuminations rated higher than Fantasmic at Disneyland? To me, it was just a bunch of smoke and some pictures I couldn't make out on a globe.
  10. They mentioned it on the Spain Trip. They said they were moving it for these exact reasons, and Iberia section would be no more. I can't say I disagree with it, there wasn't a whole lot to do ridewise in that section anyways, and it was quite a long walk.
  11. I always hear the horror stories about the AP holders, but I've yet to actually see any of them in person. I must have good luck. However, the amount of flash photography that I've seen on Pirates lately, it's SO ANNOYING.
  12. ^Are you a drummer? That seems like a crazy amount of time to string someone along to cut them. At G-Men (where I marched) only the battery had a process like that. And how was the show?
  13. ^Would you do hop on/hop off tours again? I saw a lot of tourists using them when I was in London. I did all my traveling by public transit in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Edinburgh, and Dublin and got along fine, but it could be confusing at times pulling out maps to figure out which lines to take where.
  14. ^You forget the cost of the land to leave it onsite, or the cost of moving the thing. Unless you have a couple mill laying around, you're totally oblivious to the reality of this situation.
  15. If it's on, it will only be on during the weekend, maybe only on Saturday. It usually goes to a weekend only schedule in the off-season. And I think it stops during the winter..... can't remember when though.
  16. Hmmm.....if I lived closer, I would be there. I always liked that show, though I was never in the stands, always on the field. Crown and BD are AMAZING this year, though I liked BD's guard program better in the past. Cavies are clean but their music is a little "meh". I've heard that Glassmen and Boston Crusaders both have very entertaining shows as well. ENJOY! I was originally going to be in Indy for World Championships, but the group I teach (Hawthorne Gold, Open Class) decided we didn't have the finances to make the trip this year (it's a shame, we're sitting in 8th in Open Class right now).
  17. ^LOL, of course....... The picture in question..... I took one of a TPR member (ELZ) to make sure the lighting and framing would capture the guy coming out a few people after him. I would only get one shot at said hot guy, and I wasn't missing that picture Test picture of Elz In order to make sure this picture came out
  18. The camera technique should only be applied to taking pictures of people you don't know. AKA my Spain stalker shots. It's just weird if you know the person, then they're "human"
  19. ^Awwww........but I needed to live the trip vicariously through you Lou... Well as long as Moose posts a TR (not holding my hopes for that one.....LOL)
  20. You sure about that? The other signs have lyrics from other songs. And here I was hoping that the coaster would be called Camel. "Sally the Camel has two humps, Sally the Camel has two humps, Sally the Camel has two humps, so Ride Sally, Ride! Boom, Boom, boom. "
  21. Wow, Mel makes those jumpsuits look sexy. That's a tough feat.
  22. Dragon Kahn at night Hurrakan Condor at night BTMR at WDW
  23. OMG, I'm on the Europe trip and sitting at work in Cali at the same time.....PARADOX! On a more serious note, if my cutout rides all the coasters, do I get to count them as credits? Love the update, miss seeing everyone together already! Can't wait to see more.....especially the hilarious update to come from Aqualibi.
