TPR Front Page RE-Design Contest!
RaptorBoyASU replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't wait to see the awesome designs people come up with. TPR is in need of a bit of a refresh, and what an awesome way to keep the member's in the loop with the process. -
Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!
RaptorBoyASU replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I didn't have any new wood coasters this year besides the Coney Island Cyclone, so the ballot was pretty much the same as the year prior. SUBMITTED! -
PTR - Siam Park (Tenerife)
RaptorBoyASU replied to oriolat's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I want to get to this park so badly. I'm tempted to do one of the transatlantic cruises to Barcelona that stops here. Not enough pictures of guys in small bathing suits though. -
I also can't click on the ad. I'm on Windows Vista using Firefox 3.6.2 I'm very glad the ads aren't obnoxious and actually focused on things I may be interested in.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

That rumor (or some form of it) has been circulating since I worked there, which was 2007-08, and probably even before then. That rumor has been going since I worked there in 2000. A boardwalk theme along the beach with a twister coaster. I don't think we'll ever see it happen. -
Nice report. We were there on one of those 40 Celsius days, and those fountains were a requirement for staying cool. I remember enjoying the park, but not being impressed either. Sad to see that not much is changed, and very sad to see Quetzal gone

Looking at S:UF still makes me want to vomit! -
No it wasn't. I'd say there were two or three of the 'big' trucks missing: Kogi Truck, Grilled Cheese Truck, Grill em All and Dim Sum Truck were not at the event. Dim Sum was supposed to be, but when it was rescheduled they couldn't make it. So I had a winterguard competition in Covina on Saturday, and when I arrived it was a food truck festival instead of concession stand as a fundraiser for the host school. Grilled Cheese Truck was there, so thus the absence of it up in the SCV. I found two new ones that I enjoyed. Phamish which had Banh Mi, fresh spring rolls, and Pho. And Slammin Sliders which had awesome kobe sliders. Glad you enjoyed the festival! It's good that they are doing these events out in the burbs so more people get to experience this "food revolution"

^Personally, I thought Prowler was way too low. First GCI that I've absolutely LOVED! -

Sad to see Mean Streak covered in snow. I would rather see a snow covered pile of ashes..... -

Where in the World is Robb & Elissa???
RaptorBoyASU replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yah, no one in the background has jackets sitting on their chairs or next to them, and they're wearing tank tops! -

It looks like Robb is giving Jon and I the sex talk. I can only imagine how fudged up that talk would be coming from Robb. Elissa, you should probably head that one up when Kristen gets about that age, unless you're planning a career in porn for her. LOL. -

Glad you got these pics Hanno! There were people that didn'1 believe me when I told them those trims were actually full on removed! The ride is amazing, I wish I could have compared it to Goliath at Walibi within the same couple weeks, but I only made it as far north as Efteling. It's been years since I've been on that monster. -

I'll agree with this. Mid course trims were not only off, but removed. Trims before last turn into brake run bunny hops were still on. I rode 12 times, and have bruises on my thighs today. Insane airtime, INSANE -
Nürburgring launched coaster

I can't find any updated news on this thing, is it still set to open in August? I'm going to be there at the end of August, and I was hoping I could get on the thing. -
It's very easy to get to Santa Monica from the airport! As everyone said, take the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus (Rapid 3 line) from the lax transit center to downtown Santa Monica. To get to the LAX transit center, take the "C" shuttle at the airport. You then walk to the transit center from the C lot. Just ask the driver if you have questions. If you're going straight to the pier and Pacific Park, then get off the bus at 4th and Colorado. The pier is to the west where Colorado meets the ocean. There's plenty to do nearby to kill time. The Santa Monica Promenade is only a couple blocks from the pier. It starts at 3rd and Broadway (the next street past Colorado) and continues for 4 blocks. Venice Beach is about a 30 minute walk south of the pier, and there's a pedestrian walkway right along the beach the whole way. Lots of shops, pizza/ice cream stands, street performers, etc. The breakwater is also kind of fun to walk on around low tide to see what creatures have been left behind. Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice has some upscale boutiques and small cafes. Also, the Venice Canals are very charming. They are between Venice Blvd and Washington Blvd, just a couple blocks east of the beach. You'll see the entry ways to the right. If you do walk down to Venice, and don't want to walk all the way back to Santa Monica.... you can catch the Big Blue Bus again at Pacific & Windward right in the heart of Venice Beach (1 block from beach). The #2 line runs through Venice. From there, you can either take the #2 back to Santa Monica to catch the #3 line again, or take it the other direction, and switch to the #3 line anywhere on Lincoln Blvd. The #3 runs down Lincoln from downtown Santa Monica until right before the airport. Just look for the number on the bus stop sign.
