Ok I honestly believe it's going to be some kind of large, high-capacity flat ride. Either a screamin swing or something from Huss. Lets look @ the facts 1. They installed 10 new kiddie flats this year, and when I went there the park literally seemed to have alot more rides, why not try the flat ride experiment again? 2. Shapiro said "no more high-thrill coasters for awhile", this means that a new coaster is slim pickins for SFoT. There also isnt really anything I can think of that they could take out (though I really wish they would axe the Boomerang). 3. Large scale, high-thrill flat rides seem to be the "it" product for most parks. Consider this: Cedar Point got a screamin swing, Paramounts Canadas Wonderland got a Jump2 (kind of a long time ago, but no matter), SDC is getting a screamin swing, and so is Liseberg. And thats just what has been announced that I know of. There could still be many more If we had to place bets, I'm sayin flat ride from Huss or S&S

^dont think you have anything to worry about, SFoT is one of the untouchable parks that doesnt face the axe I really do wonder though...Would SFoT maybe be getting a Screamin Swing? Considering there are already 2 going to other places around the world I think they're a hot item...Perhaps SFoT got in on the market for flat rides last year and is keeping the trend. They need a good big flat ride of some kind. Maybe the first buyer from Huss after its reshuffle?

Wha- Wha- Wha??? My homepark's getting an expansion???? Must...find...out...MORE Maybe they'll put a couple rides under the knife. As much as I love Texas Giant it's definately not one I'd ride all day, atleast if I want to stay in one piece. And Judge Roy Scream is getting a little rusty as well. Maybe They're just planning to do overhauls on everything. Either that, or my dream of SFoT getting a Euro-Fighter/Spinner may come true, wishful thinking...

What do you want to do when you grow up?
TexTitan01 replied to GAcoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I want to go into either Ride Design / Manufacturing; or business management/ public relations in the amusement industry. Like I wanna be the guy who's all "yes we have something very good on the way, the press release date is blah blah blah" I just think being in control of what the GP does and doesnt know is a very powerful job -

well considering the most each train will be able to take on is 12 people, I think its pretty plausible that they have an elevator. I remember stormrunners station got packed like the dickens when I was there, hopefully this elevator action will reduce or eliminate that crowding problem, seeing as the trains have low capacity anyways -
RCT4?
TexTitan01 replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
this has probably been said before, but OH MY GOD GET RID OF THE GRID BUILDING SYSTEM!! When it came out in like '99 or so it was the commonly accepted way of designing things (cough...togo...cough...arrow...cough), but now that designers are making more properly calculated formulas for rides instead of just grid systems, the builder for RCT is outdated. I play both NL and RCT3, and it makes me cringe when I go from playing NL to playing RCT because everything is so by the book and so standard it makes me crazy. A few more flat rides and other knick knacks would be nice, but i think the thing to set RCT4 apart from its predecessors would be to remove the grid building... And a Nolimits interface, oh that'll be the day -

http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/diary/index.cfm?entry=591f99e5-d19e-4c5b-a0e1-b48bf05076f1 "From my point of view, the most challenging part of building this coaster will be getting the stators—the motors that propel the ride, just like Wicked Twister has—installed properly. Their alignment has to be perfectly precise, and that’s not easy to achieve." Thats how we can be so negative. The have to get the stators PERFECTLY inline or else the ride wont create the magnetic field it needs to get the launch. All major Intamins with LSMs have or have come close to having this problem. -
^^ now thats just dirty I think Chip and Dale made mad tag-team love to elissa, which will make labor soo much easier since she'll have lil chipmunk babies

^ knock on wood...wait no that'd probably break it more... With all these maintenance and ride issue wouldnt you just think they'd close the ride down? I mean I know its a record breaker and blah blah blah, but I hear about this ride being broken or having broken timbers pretty much every day. Sometimes you just need to take the dog out to the barn and take care of it. I dont honest to god want them to tear it down, but is all this maintenance for a ride that has a rough reputation really worth it? -

Apollo's chariot pumping on first drop?
TexTitan01 replied to jmccalip's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pumping is whenever there are anomalies in the turn/hill/etc. of a ride. It starts at a constant turn that feels smooth and unaltered. Then when theres a spot of pumping, the train either jerks into a tighter or looser radius depending on which way the track turns. It's something to be looked down upon on coasters, which is why computer design is so much more accepted than just point n click designing. If Redunzelizer's ever runnin around here he'd be happy to explain this concept to you... -

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
TexTitan01 replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best: Texas Giant, you get such a fast pace through those last fewe turns and hills it feels like the rides about to crumble to the ground! Worst: Great Bear, twist -> cork -> boring turns; just didnt do it for me... -
Wow, at first I was really skeptic, because I was trying to think of how y'all were gonna balance a 1 bedroom apartment, takin park trips everywhere like once a week, and now 3 kids. Then I started reading into all the treads and everything, and I was like "Holy crap she really IS pregnant!" Elissa you and Robb must have this planning-everything-out stuff down to an art. My hats off to the processes y'all make to make sure everything goes right Congratulations!!
