Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
TexTitan01 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm serious! And I'm also sorry for posting so many stupid questions that have already been answered countless times, I guess reading and fully understanding directions/information is a pet peeve here for most people. Anyways, and this may be out of line, but is there a way we can get a soundoff for everyone who has sent in a deposit for the Mid-America or Spain trips? I think this would be a good idea just so as people who are curious as to a bodycount dont have to go rummaging through thread pages for the occasional "my deposit is sent". Instead just looking on this page in one general area. A simple "I've sent my deposit for " would probably be good. to start, I've sent my deposit for the Mid-America trip -Tex -

^ Which is why all you can do is mutter under your breath, and go on ejoying what is going up. there will always be whiners, thats just how life works . Not every person on the planet can be pleased by one coaster, but if you honetly believe its a winner, just stick to that belief and dont give a dam what anyone else thinks. Yes, some people are foolish and rude and annoying and ineducated about certain rides, but thats just the way it is, and you gotta live with it. Just tryin to shed a little light... -Tex -

You started it! And I honestly dont remember reading anywhere on a thread, transcript, flyer, forum, ANYWHERE about how long it would take to set up ERT. I've had slips ups in the past, but that I know for sure... I honestly cant think of anywhere where ERT was mentioned before, because I sat at my desk last night when I wrote out the post "Hmm, has ERT been mentioned?.............nope." Now if it has been mentioned, by all means PLEASE point it out; but if it hasn't, then I dont really think I'm at fault. -Tex -
^ Do you not read? On the first page it says 150 POSTS. Solid, bolded, its right there!

Robb, can you release any info on ERT sessions if you've worked any out? If we get ERT at Holiday World, I'll be soo happy. If we get ERT on Voyage, I'll be in complete heaven. Also, just wondering if you've recieved my deposit yet. I'm just a little anxious just because I've never sent money that far over the mail before and I need to be proven it'll get to you. Thanks, -Tex -

OMG OMG OMG!!! GOD IS TRYING TO CONTACT US!! who did that? was it like part of a joke? Anyways, wow I havent been to Disneyland since I was like 6. That makes........holy crap 10 YEARS?!? I have got to get my ass down there. Heh, I still remember alot though, like the cranium command ride my dad rode with me and he was like lecturing me on all kinds of stuff about the brain. We always stayed @ the Mardi Gras Resort (i think that was the name, it was mardi gras themed anyways..). My family went to New Orleans alot so we had a nagging for mardi gras. Not to mention the little waterslide in the back ROCKED (well, for a 6 year old it did). Anyways, nice TR robb! -Tex -
as mediocre as this storm was, I do have a bit of a "danger" story: So, it was about 8PM friday as Ernesto rolled in & over my good town of funchester. I live in the suburbs, and our neighboors have a cute little wooden flagpole, complete with a shed in the back, same as my house. At around 9 that night I heard a rather large that came from my backyard. As it turns out, the wind from Ernesto -puny as it was- snapped my neighboors flagpole. And by the grace of God, the flag snagged under the part where it broke off, and it got picked up by the wind, sort of like a kite. It didnt really fly very far, but it ended up skewering the shed in my backyard! I didnt think to take pictures, simply because I was left there thinking "there is no WAY that shouldave happened...." but it did, and now the shed in my backyard has a puncture wound from Ernesto. what are the odds.... -Tex

It means that your wood & rubber stick would probably crack under an carbon & pressed plastic stick that hockey players use, CCM is a brand of hockey stick. And its not just North Americans that play it. Ever watch Olympic Hockey matches? Its all over Europe too, Its really probably a 30/70 ration on how many people are interested in field hockey/ice hockey. Ice hockey is just more hardcore and more fun to watch IMO; and it was THE original version of hockey. When the ice thawed that canadian hockey ancestors played on (since it all started in winter), they thought "shit now what are we gonna do, eh?" THEN they started playing field hockey. Actually I'm not even sure if thats right. Either way, Ice Hockey is better, and not just for "lousy americans" [/hockey101] -Tex

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
TexTitan01 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
there arent any rides that like hardcore scare me, but there are a few that make me really anxious. Because I just went on my first Intamin rocket last month (stormrunner), and that launch had me blown away. I cant even imagine what TTD or Ka would be like. Its honestly just those 2 as far as if anxiety will get to me or not. -Tex -

no I'm not just talking about those 3 parks. I havent been to a single park on the mid-west trip route. Arent I so deprived? This trip going to be an unreal experience for me, alot of firsts will come into play. First session of ERT, first walkback, first intamin giga/tera coaster, first Gravity Group woodie, I can keep going if you want But I'm counting my chickens too early. First I need to hear the sweet sweet words "you have earned a spot on the trip". Then I'll go fanboy ballistic -Tex "waiting for the sweet sweet words" -

This is looking like it will be a great ride for Cedar Point. First ever Intamin past 90* drop is what I think the record would be, but I could be wrong. I cant wait to hit this next year on the '07 trip. -Tex --NOTE-- Since flame #2 for me is now on the board, I completely reprofiled this post so as it doesnt make me look like a complete dumbass. Sorry for the dumbass-ness -

I'm not really gonna try and whore myself out on kiddie coasters, strictly because I've never been to ANY of the parks on this trip. Cedar Point? no. Holiday World? no. Wisconsin Dells parks? no. If it was my second/third trip to the parks I would maybe either snag a kid of stow one of my cousins away (they're ages 8-5) for the kiddie coaster credits. Screw the kiddie rides, I'm goin for my first ever SLC credit! -Tex -
I just have one sort of doubt. If anyone has seen Robbs ShieKra video, you'll notice that the trains look really sleek, especially on the drops. Now I dont know if its the fact that its 8 rows, 3 cars; or something else, but I just hope Griffon can have that same sleekness without 10 seats looking overly bulky. other than that, WAHOO!! FINALLY A NEW RIDE FOR BGE!

I know GCI uses Millenium flyers, thats like the staple of GCI! I was talking about my maiden ride on Hurricane @ Myrtle Beach and how I had 2 wicked bruises on my legs from the hills and how I got launched into the restraints every time. Mag brakes? Vekoma?? NO... I bet that does feel really wierd, I get wigged out a bit over Stormrunners brakes, I bet going backwards through them is really odd... -Tex -
I get to LIFEGUARD A PARTY!!!!! Actually probably not, since my town is currently being penetrated by Ernesto. Even if the party isnt on we have to close down the pool for winter so as the evil snow bunnies dont ravage the pool and make it look terrible like they did last year.. DAM YOU SNOW BUNNIES!!!!!

Good to see how the trip finnish-ed off . I know that the boomerang had new funky-disco trains, but the ride feel any smoother than other boomerangs? Not like it would be that hard to, Man, Thunderbird looks like it was craazy. What was with the little bunny-hill-hop things, did they offer any airtime at all? It looks like they'd be too short to offer anything but a sore groin from being thrown into the restraint. Oh how Gertslauer trains abuse me so...... Nice to FINALLY see how powerpark was, -Tex -

and what would a little nooblet like yourself know about all this? SO TOTALLY KIDDING. Actually, thats a pretty good idea of what its for. I was first thinking it was to hold the little flywheel on the launches, you know the one that like springs back when the train launches? But your idea sounds like it would be more legitimate. -

Actually thats a never before seen view, TPDave; and it has shed more light on the launch concept IMO. That track looks like it could do with some LIMs slapped on it later on. I think we may have a lead as to the launch/lift question from this view too... but either way, 1 week left...1 more week until the interrogation letters I keep sending Kinsel become empty threats -

Psh, who snores anymore? Drooling in your sleep is the way to be! Will the rooms be just bare necesities, with 1 bed/1 couch per room? Or will we be going higher class than that. It doesnt really matter to me, so long as I dont miss the bus at any time -

Actually, maybe. There will be a whole bunch of cannons specifically places around the ride. And people can like shoot water at riders, something like Roller-Soaker @ HP maybe? I dont know, I'm going on the "alot of something" as "alot of water". My 2 cents -Tex -
