  1. you just made my day I'm going to see that tomorrow. Now, remind me again wheres this bunny hill? i dont see it on the webcam...unless its off the camera and the track goes back farther than i thought.
  2. pwned Now, what was the link that CD was using? because it didnt work on my IE either. I wanna see....
  3. I never wouldave found that in a million years, but why would Intamin switch from hydraulic to LIM? Ohh yea because for the most part hydraulics have DOWNTIMES FROM HELL. And its almost garaunteed not to be an invert unless they plan to have really screwy banking. but you know, maybe it will be a new intamin model....who knows.
  4. Wow, over 150ft. huh. So I guess Thunderhead @ Dollywood isnt a major coaster to you? Neither is Typhoon @ Bobbejaanland? Or Texas Giant @ SFoT , to name a few Let me say there are ALOT of world-class coasters under 150 ft., and alot of coasters over 150ft. that are amateur POSs. You best be changing how you define "major" coaster, or you're gonna get alot of negative remarks Anyways, back on-topic, yes an Ice Age themed ride coule make for a good color scheme, but that would be it. If they make an Ice Age themed ride in the BOARDWALK of SFFTEXAS, where there is but one day of pure ice a year, I'll proceed to throw myself from said Ice Age themed spinner.
  5. I can believe it, but I dont want to... Amusement Business are dropping like flies these days, and from what I can see, the only companies that seem to be keeping mainstream are the ones that have a good selection of thills (Intamin, Zamperla, Vekoma, Schwarz), or what they have delivers world class thrill (B&M, GCI, Gravity Group). but either way, they dont branch out on ideas unless they have a dam good understanding of what theyre undertaking, and if its a flop, either financially or publicly; they will pull enough profits by the end of the year to still break even. Whats happening to S&S is too bad, yes; but I dont think they had enough fallback profits to recover from constructing EJ. I just think that you need to be able to have alot of legroom before you try to undertake a project of that magnitude. If the 4D coaster really is cursed, good GOD I hope Intamin survives it.
  6. Wow they really do, 2 direction changes and a whole lotta helix, I hope this doesnt just end-up being a ride that twist and turns a whole bunch. I think, the whole idea of the ride is really going to come down to the trains used, because right now the track says it could be anything Intamin. Once trains are on site, or when they make an announcement, whichever comes first (probably the trains); then we'll probably know. Until then, the guessing game continues
  7. wow that looks crazy, it probably picks up alot of speed on those drops though, how would they slow it down? I cant see where theres room for brakes...
  8. the ride wasnt the problem, it was just that point and time that her heart went out. It probably was more affected by her running to catch up w/ her family than riding that little thing. The whole incident was totally random, the ride IMO had nothing to do with her demise. Of course, half of americas gonna believe the opposite...
  9. http://www.pointpixels.com/4images/details.php?image_id=7484 what...the hell...is that? There is some wierd looking track in the staging area right now. I think Intamin gave their tracks mutations...
  10. ah, well I got them close anyways. My point is I lived in Texas for 13 years and SFoT was (and still is) my home park, and I believe it is underrated, for many a reason
  11. My favorite steel coaster has got to be Titan @ SFoT, which so totally outdoes Goliath at SFMM As far as woodies, Lightning racer @ Hersheypark is truly the most twisted wooden coaster I've been on, and I LOVE IT I <3 twisted woodies Good ol' Titan
  12. I'm a woodie man. IMO, wooden coasters have more personality. Like no 2 rides can be EXACTLY the same, like you may bump one way a little harder, or you may experience more airtime on a turn on one ride than on the next depending on the woods bend. With steel coasters, its all the same, year after year. Welded steel doesnt age and change as much as nailed in wood. If you ask me rides that are a bit rough and tumble, the more the merrier. Long live GCI Love live Gravity Group Long Live PTC LONG LIVE WOODIES!
  13. I think I have maybe 2 words: OVER TEXAS It is the most well filled out park for its size in the chain IMO. Its not the largest get-yourself-lost-in-it park, but its got very nice atmosphere and a great selection of rides, alot of which are underrated (cough...TITAN...cough). Not to mention it was THE first six flags park and where the six flags idea came from (Six flags flew over texas at different times, Mexico, Spain, USA, French, Its own countrys' and now its own states flag). Can any other state lay claim to that? nooooooo -ramble over
  14. right then 1. raise the main vertex (the purple arrow thing) up pretty high so as to have room below it 2. make another vertice directly below it pretty far down, if it doesnt end up straight select the track section and press the I key to make the track section straight. -you should have a track section that looks like l 3. divide the track section so you have 4 VERTICES EXCLUDING the main vertex 4. put all of the vertices on REL ROLL & CON ROLL (up in the vertex control panel), with the exception on the main vertex, as you cant as far as i know 5. tricky part, set all the vertices banking to 90 DEGREES, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HOW IT LOOKS 6. now you should have a constantly twisting track that has the heartline twisting around it. select all the track sections and double click, a panel that show the color scheme should come up, select individual colors, and set the main track color to solid black (R:0 G:0 B:0), save the track with just what we've worked on in it. 7. pull up the AHG, set the heartline to 1.0 (as its a hyper, and thats what the hearline dist is from the track) set the number of vertices to 16 (more or less can be used at your discretion. 8. click the heartline it! button, save the track 9. open up the track and you should have a vertical heartline twist. using top view in the editor, you should see something that looks like an eye, sort of. there ya go
  15. ^ too much thought. people compare holding onto something with, you'll lose it from the ride going fast; not holding onto it so as to keep it from suffering from a form of oxidation see? theyre appeasing to the common people, not the intellectuals tracks being put in as we speak anyways, so we'll just see what it looks like when the rides done
  16. soo....who's looked @ the project 2007 webcam lately? http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm do my eyes decieve me?
  17. ADMIN EDIT...Wasn't Elissa who posted. SHUT DOWN It's true though, there can be really odd people on buses. I personally think it'd be worth $200 to fly and get there within 3-4 hours rather than sittin next to redneck jack for 2-3 days on a bus. Unless I roadtrip to Cinncinati, I'll be on the plane ...with the snakes
  18. What is it with you and beer? obviously I'm kidding Well it looks like you had a fun time whoring yourself all over the midwest. I've never done a whoring trip before, 'cept for when I went to Myrtle Beach JUST for Hurricane (bad idea...)I probably should try that sometime... Does that avatar ride thing consist of more than just a halfpipe? It looks like it has a little buny hill in it but I couldnt really tell. Either way, seeing PKI and Indiana Beach photos makes me that much more excited about the Mid-America '07 trip. --Tex
  19. wait, so everyone but robby rob and elissa is dead? not cool...I think I know where this is going, but I'll shut up.
  20. Tatsu junior? I think they probably need to focus on more plausible ideas for expansions. But we're getting off topic I think these will turn out to be a very big hit in Six Flags parks. Yes they sound like tons of fun(to me anyways), but terrible capacity; but so do a few other rides I can think of. I imagine they're cheap as well, so we will probably see alot more of these pop up around the country. Is there anyone who could get out to Fiesta Texas or SFSL and take construction pics? Jakizle I know you are in San Antonio, so if someone who lives nearby SFSL could also post construction pics that'd be rockin.
  21. Yea, and as far as I know SFoT has only scored a few Golden Tickets...They need publicity, especially for being THE original Six Flags park. I know its been longer for SFFT since they've gotten a new ride, and they're Shapiros favorite park in the chain...AND they need a family coaster. Yea, the odds are its for SFFT, but it wouldave been nice for this year to be the one that SFoT finally gets something to fill it out.
  22. http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_fiesta_texas.htm Scroll down to the stop sign. I believe the part about SFSL getting one, hell they need a new coaster to keep out of the pits. BUT http://www.screamscape.com/html/six_flags_over_texas.htm The last article/rumour. So SFI bought 2 Gertslauer Spinners, and ones probably definately goin to SFSL, but the other could togo SFFT, ot SFoT. IMO I think SFoT could really use a Spinner, but then again, so could SFoT. However since SFoT is my home park, I'm definately pullin for SFoT to get the other spinner. Its good news for SFSL though, they havent gotten anything new since Boss! --Tex "torn between home-parks" titan
  23. Cool TR. I thought it was Chang, but when did you go down thru Knetucky? because I saw airport pics in the beginning, unless you were picking up your parents. I've always wanted to goto wisconsin dells, Avalanche looks like my kind of woodie; I loooove me some speed and wicked airtime . Actually, I like all wooden coasters And you drove by Holiday World AND Beech Bend on your way back? Thats terrible...If it was me and my family driving, we wouldave never made it home.
  24. Yea, my parents main beef about this whole trip thing is that I dont know anybody I could be going with, that and I'll be all by me onesy goin through 5 states of the US. So, who wants to be my friend?
  25. awesome, but that track is sure moving slow to its happy home...
