  1. Man, this movie has been in production for 10000000000 years already....
  2. ^The mall. Cedar Fair only operated the park.
  3. Maybe it's just because I work Haunt and get to see/do a lot more than the typical guest...but I've only seen one or two shaker cans this year at Haunt. Hell, we even took one away from the monster trying to use it in the Asylum. And where do you think the snorting idea came from? Haunt monsters have it perfected! Haunt fans/monsters get defensive about that because being around Haunt more than the typical person gives them a better opportunity to see that Haunt is not all about shaker cans. I haven't used a shaker can since I was a Bunny in C3 (where it is actually a great scare tactic since the whole point was to blend in and startle) and currently spend my whole night taunting, running around in character, and scaring the f*ck out of people. And I'm definitely not the only one. So that's why you hear Haunt fans/monsters speaking up about that. And again...where the hell is this no shaker can thing coming from? Practically every monster I saw on the upper lot had one and wasn't using it very well at all! I thought the atmosphere was great, and also think HHN has a very bright future, but I was horribly disappointed with most of the talent. When they were good, they were GOOD. But for every awesome guy I saw (like the Norman Bates characters), I saw 5 with shaker cans just walking around and shaking them in peoples faces. Then I saw five more with chainsaws (which there are WAY too many of at HHN) doing nothing but running their saw.
  4. Maybe something changed from opening night to last Friday, but I saw shaker mugs (seriously...these things were giant shaker cans with handles attached) EVERYWHERE on the streets. And they weren't even using them very well.
  5. Intamin to the rescue? Oh man this is going to get ugly.
  6. It's threads like this that remind me why I wish I could take back my first year as an "enthusiast." When I would have known WTF pumping is. Which I still don't entirely get.
  7. Not selling booze isn't going to stop people from getting trashed. It'll help, but definitely not elimate it. Halloween events just attract the wrong crowd. -Joey "drives through a KBF guest parking lot filled with empty booze boxes/cans/bottles/etc every night" Mandel
  8. ^^^Well....yeah. I knew that already. Just another reason you should wish death upon them in this thread.
  9. ^^^I'd settle for the ability to upgrade our ticket from a single-day ticket to a multi-day ticket.
  10. Oh come on...Just with death upon them. It's real easy.
  11. There are parks in Nor Cal?!?! Seriously, nothing even close to exciting has happened up there since Boomerang Bay opened.
  12. I think Dave will love this movie.
  13. What is there to make of it? So a train is parked in the station while the ride is down? That never happens!
  14. ^Nope. I'm sure they used some of the resources/knowledge/etc. that comes from 16 years of doing HHN in Florida, but it was definitely not "plannned from Florida."
  15. C3 and Asylum @ Haunt.

  17. Not anymore. I believe they are down to somewhere in the 60,000-70,000 range (if that) due to all the rides/shows/shops/restaurants that closed with no replacements. I also know Disneyland can't handle those crowds very well.
  18. I like to think of it as "old school" and "new school." Old school is Haunt. Nothing over the top, just pretty good sets and lots of talent scaring/harassing people using things like shaker cans, sliding, hiding behind corners, slider gloves, etc., etc. New school is HHN. It's more of a production than a traditional haunted house. There's more detailed sets and the goal is more to engulf you in the scary/grotesque/horrorifying atmosphere more than it is to straight out startle/scare you. To me, both are cool. Both have their place, and what works for one haunt may not work for another. I actually think that the perfect event would balance the two. It would be totally awesome if, for example, the Doctors in Haunt's Asylum got to "kill" a "guest" every 20 minutes (or whatever it is) like they do on the Terror Tram. On the flip side, I also think that the Terror Tram could use more traditional scares to balance it out. It's boring to me to see a bunch of monsters just taking pictures/interacting with guests, so I agree with Shaun and Andy in that regard. But I also agree with Elissa that interacting/taking pictures/making fun of guests/etc. are all a vital part of the experience too. Again, it's all about balancing that with scares IMO.
  19. I'd say on the streets it's more make up/prostetics than masks, but in mazes masks still dominate the landscape.
  20. 1. Wow, first bad review of Asylum I've read all of Haunt. 2. The bungee spot is definitely still there in 13 Axe. 3. All pre-scare people go in at the same time. 4. I highly doubt Family Guy was the first to use that joke, so I wouldn't call it a rip off. Unless you want to say Family Guy ripped it off too. 5. Did you actually have fun?!?!?! All I read is bad stuff...
  21. They went from speakers, exhibits (coaster trains and what not), backstage tours, and special events for hotel package guests only to the same bland itenerary of "ERT, Food, Raffle" and an extra dinner+extra ERT for hotel guests...Hell, they even have mixed solace in with another park buyout!
  22. I hope they go back to actually trying for the event...
  23. What's wrong with that?
  24. Thankfully the "underestimating" happened in the first weekend. Bringing in more people/adding more vehicles/more shows/etc. is a pretty easy thing to do.
