  1. In other words: the Giants and Jets want money for the developer. I'm sure they'll come to some sort of settlement. I also agree with the train comment in the article: when myself & Dan visited for the USC/Syracuse game, we took the train everywhere (including to the game).
  2. I would be a little bit worried that the Panthers D shut the Falcons down when it mattered...
  3. Let there be lights! I just had to wait for the first night of Chanukah.
  4. ^I agree. The other parks are one day (or at best 2 day) parks.
  5. HebrewHammer17
  6. ^That's exactly the problem. At this point, many hockey fans are just over the NHL.
  7. Yes, Typhoon probably won't be around. It has recently been sold on Ital International's website. However, I don't know who it was sold to... Ever so slightly late to respond, but Typhoon was sold to RCS shows and is now up for sale again. I can only recall RCS using the ride once at the LA County fair. Back to the current topic of discussion... Good to see the park coming back to life. When I visited on the TPR "7 parks in one day" journey, the park was VERY rundown.
  8. The feeling is different this time IMO. Last time everyone hated the lockout, but understood changes to the game needed to be made to keep it growing. This time around everyone is just pissed off since hockey has grown steadily since the last lockout and was finally moving forward again....
  9. Looks like it is just going to be one flat slab of cement for the ride. No actual footers into the ground. So it can still easily be removed and the site cleared again if need be...
  10. ESPN reported Tennessee is interested in Kirby Smart (can't really get a better "up and coming" guy if that is the route they want to take) and Butch Jones.
  11. Season's done. Bettman+Fehr=absolute disaster. Neither side is going to win when this is finally settled.
  12. The Facebook Page for the park has a pretty good rendering of the entire park, in which you can clearly see the play structure.
  13. ^He said no. At this rate, Tennessee may end up settling for another younger coach and hope he works out. Seems like the bigger names are just using the offer to get a better deal out of their current school.
  14. ^^I'm sure Auburn will open up the checkbook again.
  15. Lakeside is a private equity club. It's owned by the members. Every single one of them would have to sell. It's not going to happen.
  16. I'll go ahead and say never. DCA 2.0 cost $1B dollars. That wouldn't even cover the cost of purchasing the golf course and relocating the studio facilities. It's not feasible. It's just a ridiculous rumor that never goes away. I'm going to guess that the webmaster for insideuniversal was the one who sent in the rumor to drive some extra clicks to his website.
  17. The "This looks very cool and don't remember seeing one of these anywhere else, maybe at Hershey?" ride is a Wisdom Tornado. Some of the Jeepers have them. John's Incredible Pizza in Buena Park has one too if I remember correctly.
  18. It's not even really worth discussing because there is absolutely no chance it is going to happen.
  19. ^I think it will. See Texas A&M this year. And Auburn's undefeated year. And Florida in the Tebow years. A quality running QB/spread offense isn't what SEC teams are used to seeing. As I've said, a strong push up the middle from the front 7 neutralizes that (the SEC specialty), but it will take time for SEC teams to adjust to preparing for that in a week.
  20. Waterpark version of Lo-Q system? Sweet!
  21. Yeah....no. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the members of the country club (lakeside country club is an equity club) would not be very interested in selling. I also suspect the residents of Toluca Lake (including houses with their backyards practically on the course) would have something to say as well.
  22. Anytime there is a fatality on a ride it is notable. Thunder Mountain probably got the most press, being that it was Disneyland. But they are all horrible and all noteworthy in their local market.
  23. Well at least they'll have one valuable asset to sell off in the B&M invert. Hope they can work everything out.
  24. Nashville is definitely a market where a midsize park could be successful. Hope to see something happen!
