  1. San Diego already has the wild animal park, so there's a foundation to build on should they choose to make another surprise purchase.
  2. Hopefully this one features the new lapbar restraints.
  3. Smart move for both parties. For Cedar Fair, a stand alone water park away from their other parks was outside of their core. For Sea World, it gives them a stronger foothold in San Diego.
  4. This sounds like it is tied into the whole "Society of Explorers and Adventurers" storyline Disney has been using lately.
  5. ^It had a good pace, decent pops of air, some some lateral forces just for good measure! Definitely a hidden gem.
  6. The pinfari inverted coaster (the bat) absolutely terrified me given how Pinfari loopers are...and the ride actually turned out to be pretty smooth!
  7. ^^I've only experienced a rough day at sea one time...it's really the only time you actually feel like you are on a boat!
  8. ^Agreed. The ride was in my top 15. Such a bummer it is going to be donated for scrap (side note: if they use that 10 million dollar valuation...talk about a tax scam). Also, this made me laugh: Upper-scale retail next to a family fun center. Classy.
  9. ^I don't! Will be curious to see how Harper and Trout fare with a whole offseason for scouts to put together more comprehensive reports on the guys.
  10. ^I think the big draw is the TV Network. And the BIG 10's TV contract is up in 2017, so they'll get that back when it comes time to renegotiate. It absolutely has to do with coaching. Goes back to what I was saying about the end of this season and next season being the turning point in his career. By all accounts, the players do really like him. And he is a great offensive coach, maybe sometimes too smart for his own good in that regard. But now he's running out of time to prove that can translate into being a head coach.
  11. ^Barkley wasn't going to go ahead of RGIII and Andrew Luck regardless, and with the NFL's new rookie salary scale, the money probably wasn't a big deal. His family is already rich anyways. He's not the typical NFL size for a QB, nor does he have the strongest arm. But despite what the numbers would tell you this season, he is a smart QB with a good pocket presence. As a USC fan, I'll always consider him one of the greatest, simply because he (and the other seniors) stayed through the sanctions and tried to make it right and give the NCAA a huge middle finger. Sucks it didn't work out and that his college career potentially ended with that hit, but him staying is what is great about college football. You really think they would pass a 11-1 Florida team who would of just beaten a top 10, 1-loss Florida State team??? I put my money on Florida jumping to #2 (if Notre Dame loses of course). I forgot to mention that Kiffin actually did an amazing job developing Jon Crompton in his one season at UT. Through the first 4 games and 3 quarters against Auburn, Crompton was a compete mess. By the end of the season, he was an above average QB. I honestly don't know what to expect out of the BCS. Florida would certainly have a strong argument, but Oregon holds the trump card of a championship game. That's going to potentially add another quality win to their computer averages, and possibly even help in the human polls if they crush UCLA. As far as Kiffin...that's the dilemma. Is he just a good OC/QB/WR coach and recruiter, or can he actually be a head coach? He's got the game vs ND, the crappy bowl game, and next season to prove it. Will he actually fire his dad? We he actually give up some control of the offense? Will he stop the stupid mind games? I'd like to think that this season has humbled him (one immediate noticeable change---he already declared Barkley out instead of playing that whole no comment game), as he clearly could not handle the pressure that came with being the preseason #1. If he can learn from it, he still has a bright future. Sticks to the same tendencies? Done for. I'm not giving up hope yet, as every single successful coach in the history of college football has had failures along the way. The key is whether or not he makes adjustments. I believe USC does 1 full contact session each week. That's the biggest difference from this year to last IMO. Last year they had a normal practice schedule with more full contact sessions. You can DEFINITELY tell the difference. Injuries are going to happen, but you can't play scared in football. USC's depth is screwed either way because of the scholarship reductions, might as well go all in and hope for the best. We'll see what adjustments are made.
  12. Oceaneering is sure keeping themselves busy between this and Transformers!
  13. ^Oregon has NEVER done well against teams with a solid front 7. I've said it a few times in this thread already: get a push up the middle and read option offenses can't do anything. But assuming Oregon beats Oregon State and then UCLA, I think that will give them enough of a jump in the computers to be #2 vs the winner of the SEC title game.
  14. ^Yeah, it will definitely be bittersweet if USC beats Notre Dame. One on hand, I'd love for nothing more than for USC to spoil ND's season. On the other hand, I would hate seeing an all SEC title game again.
  15. ^No question it is horrible coaching. USC is by far the most predictable team in the country and probably one of the least prepared too. Talent kept them around in all the loses, but the same tendencies reared their ugly heads every single time and prevented USC from winning. I can count on Barkley throwing a pick or two trying to force the ball to someone (looking right at him the entire time) while another receiver is wide open, Marquise Lee not protecting the ball, and the defense giving up a 3rd or 4th and long because of that soft zone and poor tackling. Yet despite all that, USC is so talented they were still in a position to win all those games when they were actually playing aggressive...but never could sustain it before one of those bad habits came back. Which falls on the coaches. Like I said, the rest of this season and the offseason is the defining time of Kiffin's career. Change has to happen or he's done. He needs to fire his dad, go back to full contact practices, and get his head out of the damn playsheet so much. I'm OK with him calling his plays, but sometimes he needs to just ignore that sheet and stick with what is right in front of him if it is working.
  16. ^To be fair, Tennessee fans were pretty upset when he left because they realized the program finally showed a tiny bit of life for the first time in ages in that one year. He definitely would have done better than Dooley! I don't think he's a bad coach, I just think he's still learning on the job. This season he basically caved under the pressure of being #1 and went away from everything that worked so well the previous season. Went from playing to win to playing not to lose, which NEVER works. All the stupid things like the injury reports and switching jerseys were completely unnecessary. The biggest problem, however, I think was returning to a policy of limiting tackling in practice to prevent injuries. He's going to get a chance to finish the season on a high note and enter his biggest off season yet. Hold the recruiting class together, keep the top draft eligible people on the team (top RB, CB, and WR), have his dad retire, and learn from this season...and we'll see what happens. USC won't even be favored to with the PAC-12 south next year with a new QB, center, free safety, defensive end, and potentially those other loses. Given the failure of this season, he's gone next year unless USC wins the PAC-12.
  17. ^He said did in the past tense. They may have been separate companies, but there is no question who owned/founded both companies. But regardless of that, the point he was trying to make is that there have been other companies that have successfully used their brand with a theme park.
  18. ^Sad but true. I'm not even really sure I can cheer for Kiffin anymore. I'm definitely at the breaking point...beating Notre Dame, winning whatever crappy 3rd tier bowl USC gets sent to, and having his dad "retire" will change my mind. He's a great recruiter and offensive mind, but probably too wrapped up in calling offensive plays for his own good.
  19. ^And while you are at it, if anyone got details on KMG's new rides, that would be awesome too!
  20. ^I agree. There are no more good seats left on the ride.
  21. ^They already having a flaming moe's packaged energy drink, so hopefully it makes the menu at this rumored place too!
  22. Please note that aside from the high price to attend, IAAPA is a trade show. Companies are there to promote and sell their products, and industry people are there to look at said products and also to network. It's really not exciting as it looks in the photos, since everyone is there for business purposes. TPR's coverage will honestly be better than what you could get yourself on the floor as just an average visitor!
  23. The new chance ride should make appearances at the L.A, OC, and S.D county fairs if it was purchased for RCS!
  24. ^From an older OC Register article: Keep in mind at this point all the city council has approved is funding for the EIR, which will answer a lot of the questions/concerns people have. We're still a LONG ways away from worrying about losing a lane for vehicle traffic.
  25. Shout out to all the manufacturers who took time out of their day to do interviews with Robb & Elissa! Oh, and I guess Robb, Elissa, Jake, Hanno, Adam, and Jack deserve some credit too for putting together the great coverage! But seriously, it's really cool that so many manufacturers respect TPR enough to use TPR footage in their booths AND take time out of their busy day (time that could be spent selling rides) to do interviews!
