  1. ^Not only nightlife, but also another great "take a break from the parks" option while staying at the resort!
  2. ^It's the SEC. They'll be fine. Seriously though, this is another example of all the shady people around college football and basketball.
  3. I suspect the final product will have little connection to the ride outside of being in a mining town with thunder mountain as the landmark. I'm not expecting to see any episodes explaining the backstory of Thunder Mountain.
  4. ^There's lots of speculation the payroll dump was to help make the team more attractive to a new buyer. In other news: a knuckle baller won the Cy Young! That's awesome!
  5. ^I think it is up in the air at this point. Seems like it could be a good idea or a bad idea, which is why they voted to go forward with the EIR. I'm sure with the premium AP price where it is now, plus the ever rising cost of parking at the resort, there are a ton of people who would take advantage of the street car to save a few bucks on parking. It could also help spread the traffic around, as travelers and convention goers could stay at hotels by the stadium and arena and NOT have to drive/take a cab/take a shuttle to the resort area.

  7. It's been discussed numerous times in this thread that the KoD show building is not currently able to be used for anything. It was completely torn apart when they build Johnny Rockets.
  8. I'm sure they meet all applicable ASTM standards. It's just a matter of a park choosing to buy them.
  9. ^I think you are talking about the mold-o-rama machines? They can't do custom designs and are just wax figures.
  10. The ears are definitely a niche product. But when you have an annual passholder base as large at Disney's, it's not really a problem.
  11. I wonder if the judgements were default judgements? Doesn't say anything about arguments or a trial.
  12. They should probably get the Timberliners working on Voyage first... This is certainly going to be an interesting conversion. I love Gravity Group rides, but they are really CCI 2.0: Deliver great rides on a budget, however they require a ton of TLC to say a top notch ride.
  13. I've always thought it was odd that the chinese manufacturers actually exhibit at IAAPA. Bet this will be their last year after this judgement! I'm also sure they'll still continue to sell them to the rest of the world with no problems.
  14. Attention K-mart shoppers: we have a sale on Marlins players on aisle 5!
  15. Love that Alan Schilke is still rocking the mullet!
  16. ^Phil's saying they gave him until today to decide, then backed off and called him at midnight to say he wasn't getting the job. I think Jim Buss is just a moron. Phil Jackson would have been a stopgap solution...but this team only really has this season (and possibly next, but that's questionable with an aging Nash and Kobe) anyways.
  17. Someone had to have sold their soul to Touchdown Jesus to make Notre Dame's season possible. So many close games and not a lot of offense. Hope USC can end that run!
  18. ^Agreed. In terms of BCS computers (whether I agree with it or not ), the SEC team would be the strongest 1-loss team followed closely behind Oregon (after they lose to USC ).
  19. Since I know next to nothing about Harry Potter, I'm all for the expansion being as high tech as possible. That's what made it even remotely interesting to me---Amazing detail and cool FX/cool ride system. I had no idea what was actually going on.
  20. That picture of the sand is nuts! The news focuses on the most severe damage, but stuff like that is fascinating.
  21. ^Obviously it happens, or Jaguar would still have a 42" height requirement and no seatbelt! Doesn't mean it makes any sense.
  22. That's pretty common on boardwalk rides. Being next to the ocean isn't conducive to metal! Hope they rehab it in the offseason...definitely looks bad.
  23. Uhm...guys...it takes money to build new attractions. It's safe to assume a Starbucks branded coffee shop is going to do WAY more business than the old place ever did with NESCAFE. The end.
  24. ^^I suspect that is an "old wives tale." There's no reason to go above and beyond manufacturers requirements unless something bad happened. And if that was the case, the manufacturer would have put out a bulletin requiring all their rides to add the seat belt and raise the height requirement to protect themselves from future liability.
  25. ^The whole process. Still crazy for coffee IMO!
