In other news, under projects that are actually happening: Mandalay Bay is getting its first major overhaul since opening in 1999. Interview with GM Here No changes to the rooms at Mandalay Bay, but the Four Seasons rooms just got renovated & THE Hotel is becoming a Delano branded property. Also the Michael Jackson Cirque show is replacing Lion King, the old Rumjungle restaurant club will become a Cirque branded nightclub, and a few other restaurants are being swapped out.

Umm... No, I don't. Riddler's Revenge and Green Lantern also have a single-rider option, and I also believe Revolution has a single-rider line. There aren't that many rides with them (unless I'm missing any), but at least it isn't like at some parks, including other SF parks, where you have to go through the normal line to get to the single rider line. He said that those were observations from his visit. Perhaps the other rides you mentioned either had the line closed or did not have adequate signage.

Had a blast last year---can't wait to do it again! -
As someone who may or may not have consumed the equivalent of 14 cans of beer at Oktoberfest in a nighy or drank around the world at EPCOT once or twice...it's possible. There's no way I could recommend doing that for more than 1 night a year though, and yet I am sure there are many people on Carnival ships who will definitely hit their limit daily.

Found this just posted. Also found out most of the layoffs will be in Montreal at the home office. But still, sad to find out. And again - I am So Glad I got to see ZED, before it shuttered. That's the typical "ebb and flow" pattern of any growing company. They grew at a rapid pace, so I'm sure they had a lot of "fluff" on their payroll as they expected to keep growing at a rapid pace. Of course, rarely does that ever happen in the business world---so now they have to cut the "extra fat" in the company to get back to what their actual operational needs are. Can't be perfect forever. Iris failed because of the price and location---Los Angeles is never a good place for a residency of any show. Not enough locals are interested in paying the high price for a ticket and having to deal with traffic/parking associated with Hollywood. They ended up having to run a groupon deal the last few months. If Iris was only a limited run, I'm sure it would have sold out. The Immortal World Tour at Staples Center sold out (or came very close to it) for every show. ZED I'm sure was the same thing---just misread the market. I'm sure executives and Cirque and OLC saw the success of La Nouba and said "we want a cooler one" without really thinking things through.

I agree! When I visited with Robb and Elissa and yourself early in the season a few years ago, it was a completely hassle free visit. I also agree Wild One is a great ride---very underrated IMO. -
Have you read the major disney fan sites over the years? The things posted and articles written over the years have had a 50% accuracy rate at best. They also don't like anything that can ruin the experience for them (the annual passholders who generally don't spend money), so it's only natural they would complain about something that is not even confirmed to try and influence things... I'll reserve judgement until the system is actually launched.

I think I bought three or four of the horribly politically incorrect toys!

I don't like Jim Harbaugh (I'm sure Pete Carroll would agree with me ), nor do I want to hear two weeks worth about of sob stories about someone who probably is a murderer (Ray Lewis) retiring. Plus the whole sibling thing is going to be beaten to death, so I could really care less for this Super Bowl.

^That's what I figured as well. Either B&M or a vendor that works with B&M was probably shopping this around at IAAPA. Great idea to bring new life into B&M coasters! -
Why Does Everybody Hate on Six Flags?
Jew replied to eltororider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Simply put, they're the Wal Mart of theme parks: you'll have some enjoyable experiences at the better parks when things go well (I really can't say anything bad about the Texas parks, SFoG, or SFGAm), but you'll have a lot more bad experiences because it's all about the bottom line and keeping costs as low as possible. That means poor operations, bad staff that works for minimum wage, management that doesn't care, and so on... -
