  1. So I've been at WDW parks for the last two days, and I can say that I am definitely looking forward to being able to try MyMagic+. The way Disney is using RFID for everything from fast pass, admissions, payments, Test Track car design, and even Be Our Guest orders really means the possibilities are endless as to how convenient this can be for anyone using it!
  2. Speaking of food, the Tutto Italia @ Epcot is amazing! Had it tonight...best pasta I've ever had.
  3. Every topic in this thread has been discussed at least 10 times.
  4. ^^^I'm guessing you have never dealt with any intellectual properties. If you did, you would be able to deduce that using the same theme and merchandise at both parks is not motivated by costs, but rather by the amount of time and effort it takes to get anything approved when dealing with someone elses IP.
  5. ^^Your post should include an asterisk *Work includes no benefits besides park tickets, pays minimum wage (or slightly above for some skilled positions, but way below the market rate), and includes a crappy employee cafeteria.
  6. ^^What other rides are there in that category that offer more bang for the buck? The Mack one? A Vekoma Mine train? There's not many 100ft tall non-inverting/not too intense rides out there.
  7. Finish the paint job on Flight Deck, turn it around for 2014?
  8. Interactive queue elements have been around for awhile (think Indiana Jones and the rope in the well/shaking the bamboo, or the Revenge of the Mummy rides having some gags as well), but Disney is just now taking it to the next level. Very cool stuff!
  9. Yeah...no park in the world could ever want a cheap "intermediate" coaster. Note: by intermediate I mean something that packs a big visual/marketing punch, without being too intense to the point it scares people away. Like most GCI coasters!
  10. I would say that in its original incarnation, it was the best flume ride around. Insane airtime off the drop and you got completed drenched. Even had decent capacity with all the boats running and just lapbars. After the unfortunate accident---the ride sucked, since they never found a good way to modify the boats.
  11. If I recall correctly, leads have the ability to change the ratio (I believed its based on the theoretical maximum capacity) based on operational needs.
  12. I'm not really sure how "straight off the side of a 70's rape van" fits at USH, or with the story that you are visiting a top secret facility that was "hidden" in a theme park for that matter. I guess the technicality is that since Optimus and Megatron fight on the ride, the facade is just an extension of that, but I am going to go out on a limb and say that given how the other two facades turned out...that was not the intent. Especially given that the core creative team was the same for all three projects.
  13. Have you seen it in person? It actually looks quite cool. I would say that I am ever so slightly bias to transformers at ush....and I would much rather have a thematically correct building instead of an obnoxious (but cool looking nonetheless) billboard.
  14. I had no problem getting the wait times on my Galaxy Nexus from California as well. I don't even see the GPS active icon on the notification bar either.
  15. ^But! But! There's photos online showing slightly faded walkway paint! The horror!
  16. Team TPR is by far the largest fundraiser so far! I have no doubt we will raise the bar even higher than last year! Once I get my work assignment squared away for this summer, I will definitely be signing up again!
  17. ^On the flip side, they work through much more severe weather! But we are already expecting this ride to be mid summer, so there's no point in arguing about it.
  18. I believe they are just the U.S. fabrication contractor for Vekoma. I'm wondering if a park already bought one? Seems odd to randomly put it out there now.
  19. Here's the thing about these lawsuits: the lawyers never intend to have them go to trial. They're basically just trying to annoy carnival (or their insurance company) enough to the point a settlement is offered, since there is zero chance Carnival wants anything coming out in discovery that would be even more harmful to their brand.
  20. It's not tourism tax credits he's waiting for. He has 90 days to line up $25+ in loans in order to be eligible for the credits.
  21. Looks like they are putting a TON of detail into this. Can't wait to see the final product.
  22. I'm guessing weight and stabilization are the bigger issues. I'm sure it can be engineered, but is it really worth it?
  23. One step at a time: He needs to complete the funding first before we can start talking about what prototype flat rides he'll be buying.
