  1. I'm surprised the show lasted this long! None of the dinner shows I have seen have been very good...
  2. Why do we care so much about such a terrible ride?
  3. Hollywood is weird like that. They don't focus on the stars, they focus on the franchise. I have no clue about the box office receipts from the first two Bill & Ted movies, but the fact that they're cult hits means nothing to Hollywood. They could have the dream cast of all A-list actors in the movie. If the suits don't think the name on the franchise will bring money, it won't get made. Hollywood only cares about one thing---$$$. Your statement is true when it comes to $200+ million budget films, where needing to become a franchise is almost essential to get a return. On smaller budget films, "being a cult hit" is a HUGE advantage, since they know it has a built in following that will most certainly see it at the box office, buy merch, and buy the DVD/iTunes/Amazon.
  4. ^I don't think that is viable. As cliche as it is to say it, closers are not wired that way. They don't like to share. They like knowing they are THE guy for shutting games down.
  5. The way KBF is headed, I would be surprised if it is anything other than a family/milder thrill attraction.
  6. That's not really a fair comparison, since Walt Disney had the foresight to see that the region was going to grow and had his media empire to support it. This is an unknown company banking on the population base being able to support a HUGE project.
  7. The east is so terrible, they'd have to try real hard to tank and not make the playoffs.
  8. It's miceage. If this were even remotely true, real news outlets would be all over it reporting on how the parks and resorts division (2nd most profitable division of the company) was in any trouble...
  9. Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! I only got to experience NYC for one day when I visited, but I instantly fell in love. Living in L.A. my whole life, I was blown away with a city that actually had personality!
  10. Shouldn't be terrible, but won't be empty either. Winter breaks are scattered all through the month of December, but the bigger school districts are still in school.
  11. Tomorrowland looks really impressive! I went to EDC last year for the first time and was blown away (and I'm not even a fan of that style of music). Tomorrowland looks to be on the same, over the top but completely awesome scale!
  12. 25 years? Dang! Crazy that a whole new generation will probably know them from HHN and not even realize they had two movies as well.
  13. ^It looks like they are taking care in deconstructing it. I drove by again about a month ago and about half of it was gone.
  14. My guess is I-drive. No better place for the ultimate tourist trap attraction.
  15. Would be cool to see a Mrs. Knott's chicken sandwich though!
  16. I don't want them to replace T2 because I need the credit! Seriously though, SLC's might be terrible rides, but they make for easy marketing as a big time thrill ride. So long as it is reliable for the park, I can't imagine it going anywhere for awhile.
  17. ^All very valid points. Unfortunately for the refs (and us fans), stuff like that is such a slippery slope. The human error/judgement part of sports is both awesome and maddening at the same time.
  18. Hope the Dodgers will make an offer he can't refuse to stay a set-up man. He killed it.
  19. Same here. Yet somehow, they are in just about every tourist trap in the country and world!
  20. The shirt sizes are also not friendly to most male visitors from the u.s.
  21. I think it would definitely have to be in the U.K. It's the current nerdy/hip thing to like in the U.S., but I don't think it has a mainstream following here. I personally haven't ever seen the show and don't have any inclination to do so.
  22. Western Conference > Eastern Conference. The Kings would be leading the East!
  23. I would disagree with you about building around Rose, but I agree about the Bulls being stuck. Rose is the hometown hero. They're stuck with him and need to pray he can recover. I also agree they are going to miss out a rebuilding opportunity, since the east is still pretty terrible and they will definitely make the playoffs.
