  1. The original Cyclone was AWESOME yet brutal. The back seat almost killed me, I swear. The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis. Okay, WTF is up with that??? It should be an awesome ride - it's in there, I swear but oh...my....god.... Thought I was truly breaking things. David
  2. Elissa - I can't see where this has already been posted, but Kid Tums has definitely been affected wonderfully by all of the experiences and travels with you guys. She travels better than most adults. I was, mistakenly, using her as a guide to how 3 and 4 year olds should act. I had a friend from high school come visit with her 4 year old and I thought to myself, "I can handle this! Kristin is about 4 and she's a blast." BOY HOWDY WAS I WRONG! Turns out - Kristin is nothing like any other 4 year old I've encountered. She is AWESOME! YOU GO MOMMY AND DADDY!! You guys are awesome. David
  3. ^ I couldn't agree more. I'd heard the Scrambler in the Dark comment - but the queue was air conditioned and the ride was inside. If you remember - it was just freaking hot that day. We decided to check Cyclone Sams out and I'm so glad we did. I think I actually went on it like three times and giggled my fool head off during each of them. COW...FARM...ROOF...TRACTOR...COW....FARM...ROOF...TRACTOR...
  4. Soy Sauce Popcorn?? Sign me the heck up!! Thanks for taking the time to post from your trip. Looks like you had an awesome time. BEAUTIFUL parks. A little jealous now David
  5. ^AGREED. I don't even like carousels that much...but in a Ferrari concept? You'd be hard pressed to get me out of the damned thing. I'd be giggling like a fool whilst pushing buttons, turning the steering wheel and hitting the gas pedal - all the while making revving noises! David
  6. YAYYY!! I still have the picture of us waiting for that last ride on Cyclone Sams on my phone. I think I'll look at it now David
  7. ^ I recorded Raising Hope. Martha Plimpton is one of my faves! The Glee episode did quite a bit for the story arc, but I'll admit I was a bit disappointed in the music selection. Oh well - Coach Biest is AWESOME, Sue was funny as hell and next week is the Britany episode. Yay!
  8. ^ I see that my reputation preceeds me . That CERTAINLY is what he said. David
  9. ^ I have to agree with the DownDraft! OMG, that was insane. As for the Whip - I've only ridden one that was just out of this world. Rye Playland (aka: STABland.) That thing was going so fast that the entire tub came off of the ground around the back "whip" section. All others - meh... kind of boring. David
  10. Thanks for the pics Divv. Good to see you are still doing the sexy manly pinup pose for all group photos. You've now set the Divv standard for such shots . David
  11. ^ plus, at an exagerrated speed - the ending that shall not be named might actually give someone an anyeurism. Seriously - it was amazing, just as it was. I remember, after riding, thinking, "WTF was that and how long till I can do it again?" David
  12. Actually - an expansion or addition or refurb of the kiddie areas would be an excellent idea. With the Timberliners (if they work as expected) - they are getting a MAJOR upgrade on their biggest ride next year. They ARE a family park, and although I'm not a huge fan of kiddie areas, theirs could definitely be worked on or added to. Either that, or another family ride (read, not just kiddies but everyone.) I look forward to any announcement. I love Holiday World and I'm sure that whatever they do will be a nice addition. David
  13. Same, damn it. I feel like I am missing an important piece of my being at this point. Damned bank secrecy act.
  14. Thanks again for your trip reports Hanno! The Prowler walkback was a lot of fun, even if it was roughly the temperature of the surface of the sun outside . I've never had so much fun while melting as I've had on a TPR trip. Now I miss my TPR friends again . David
  15. I need a new avatar picture. This one is a couple of years old. Luckily - I still look the same. I think it has something to do with all the vodka I drank in the 90's.
  16. So - anyone having friends over for tonight's episode? Throwing a little dinner party at our house, then watching the premier. David
  17. The Six Flags America - Rodeo didn't run too crazy of a cycle when I was there. I think the cow spun around maybe twice. Most of the time it was a quick swing to the left, direction change, quick swing to the right, direction change, repeat. Wild Mice. Some of them have the wheels kind of in the middle of the car. When the cars are designed like this, it gives the impression of overshooting the track at each tight corner. They don't, of course, but it is unnerving. David
  18. Beautiful pictures! I agree with you on Talon. Fun ride, places after Afterburn though. The thing that really freaks me out about the coasters at Dorney (B&M wise) is how quiet they are. I was told that the tracks were filled with sand or something to dampen the roar. Whatever they did - worked.
  19. ^ and ^^ - Isn't Rodeo a themed BreakDance? If so - they are more Side to Side than spinny like a tilt-a-whirl (depending on the cycle they are running.) Most of the time they are just kind of fun - but at Coney Island a couple of years ago - that crazy Brooklyn carney had the ride set to PSYCHOTIC. I swear I thought I would die. My first ride at Bug Out (Or Go Banannas) at Wild Adventures scared the crap out of me. It's a wild mouse - but for some reason, the way it charged the corners just scared the holy bejesus out of me. Still ride it, still scares the crap out of me. David
  20. I just love their use of the fog machines and lighting to create atmosphere. Thanks for the amazing pictures! Unfortunately, due to the distance from my home, I will be unable to attend HalloWeekends at Cedar Point. Halloween Horror Nights at USF will just have to do . Looks awesome, and I'm glad you live close enough to go often. David
  21. I'd agree. I just brought up Mr. Ethridge because his a$$ is goin' to jail. As a matter of SCALE, Freestyle Rockin Hard Park is a much bigger screw up: but at lest to date nobody is going up the river because of it.
  22. ^ Well - the Wild West World Guy is going to prison... That definitely puts that in the running .
  23. VEKOMA - hmmm.... Getting back on topic (we all know Revolution is a Schwartzkopf,) older Vekomas do have their issues (roughness.) When I rode the Great Nor'Easter with the new restraints - the headbanging was greatly lessened, but it was still an SLC. Cool layout, but had the "shuffle." Some of their new and custom jobs (Everest and RnRc,) along with their Kiddies are pretty damned good. BG is having train problems, but they are completely new (read: prototype) trains. It seems to me that the reliability of the "clones" is a big draw. Minus the occasional valley - boomerangs and SLC's are pretty much ALWAYS running (even when you wish they weren't .) To the GP - they are great, therefore a good draw for the parks. I'm interested to see what happens with BG and with the future of this company.
  24. I have been rendered speechless! Good thing I can still type. Thanks!! David
