  1. ^ My first experience on Hurler was on the East Coast Tour and the ribs on the left side of my body still haven't recovered. Weren't you and Chris involved in the EPIC photo of about 20 of us under the Hurler sign being in pain?? The trim made it "more" enjoyable, but I'm still not a big fan. At least I can ride it again without the necessity of a medic at the end of the exit ramp.
  2. Let me help...Hurler is crap! Actually - did KD put a trim at the bottom of the first drop like Carowinds? I still really disliked Hurler at Carowinds, but it was at least ridable without a visit to the first aid tent afterwards. I have to mention what Bobby posted earlier about the park being maintained well since CF took over. I found the same to be true with Carowinds. People might bash Cedar Fair, but they are doing a Jam Up job with upkeep and additions to the parks.
  3. Thanks for the pictures. I, for one, LOVE going to the fair. I've never actually seen a Hi-Roller, but would love to try one. I'm kind of a fan of "spin and pukes." David
  4. This made me laugh! I'll chime in with my personal policy regarding Tagging Photos. I don't do it. Really - it takes a lot of time and energy and might piss someone off in the long run. If any of my friends want to be tagged - I welcome them to do it. I actually appreciate it because it tells me that they are looking at my pictures! Perhaps if I took an amazing picture of someone I might update this policy, but I haven't come across this yet (maybe I'm just not a good photographer ) I think it's kind of crappy to bash on Robb (or anyone for that matter) for asking someone to excersize some discretion when tagging photos of him (or them.) It's not like he's going out there and deleting every friend that does it. He's making a reasonable request that is not difficult to comply with. Maybe people are forgetting that you are "friends" with someone on FaceBook when you add them as a friend. If a friend asked you to refrain from doing something that just plain annoyed them - wouldn't you? David
  5. ^ Who cares about the drinks - the glass is AWESOME!!
  6. It is known today for it's huge 70's cheese factor. It was such a HUGE deal when it came out because of the subject matter and time period that it came out in. It is kind of a "rite of passage" for Horror/Gore buffs
  7. We didn't all hate on it . The tunnel is still AMAZING and SCARY and APOCALYPTIC at the same time. Yeah - it's gotten a bit rougher over the last couple of years, but it's still a great ride to me. I didn't ride it more due to one train and a long line. Although doubtful, we can hope that the Timberliners make their way to hell as well as to Thanksgiving Land at Holiday World (if they are as successful as they are supposed to be ) P.S. - I am still of the belief that all girls have cooties as well
  8. Guys - thanks for posting this. I had an awesome time meeting you both and hopefully we'll get to travel together again someday. LOVED the "true story" reference on day one as well. GO BRIAN....
  9. Steve - thanks for posting your trip report. Great pictures as always, and the seagull photo and caption had me snickering at my desk for a bit. Thanks for making my co-workers realize how odd I am again. D
  10. I really enjoyed this! The captions were hilarious and I'm glad to see Voyage lovin', even though it is pretty damned rough at this point. It's still my #1 - that layout is fantastic. It's also nice to see someone who feels the same about Maverick and Millennium Force. David
  11. ^ Cannibal Holocaust is a CLASSIC! Enjoy!
  12. ^^ In mathematics, the concept of a "limit" is used to describe the value that a function or sequence "approaches" as the input or index approaches some value. The concept of limit allows one to, in a complete space, define a new point from a Cauchy sequence of previously defined points. Limits are essential to calculus (and mathematical analysis in general) and are used to define continuity, derivatives and integrals. The concept of the limit of a function is further generalized to the concept of topological net, while the limit of a sequence is closely related to limit and direct limit in category theory. In formulas, limit is usually abbreviated as lim as in lim(an) = a or represented by the right arrow (→) as in an → a. I thought everyone knew this Just kidding - calc SUCKED!
  13. Jake - I've been for the past two Halloween Horror Nights with our group and we get the RIP tours. The lines on the Saturday night are RIDICULOUS. For someone like us who is spolied by TPR trips and ERT and such, the skip the line passes are a really good idea. I don't think I could make myself stand in a couple of hour long line for a Haunted House - no matter how good (and the HHN houses are AMAZING.)
  14. ^Hey Jen! See you next summer since Eli and I are signed up for the North East trip as well. David
  15. Don't forget to mention those damned G-Trains. My first experience with them was on Cheetah at Wild Adventures. It was basically crap. They re-tracked it last winter and it was awesome earlier this year - but I don't hold high hopes for it as time moves on because those trains are just aweful for the track. I agree with you 100% though. I rode Giant when it was the new coaster at SFoT and it was just amazing. My #1 for a long time. Hearing of its slow decline was heartbreaking, so if this gets it back up and amazing again - more power to them.
  16. Thanks for taking the time to post these pictures. They were great. From your report on Elitch, sounds like Adventureland is the better. I have been to Adventureland and absolutely loved it. David
  17. Chang was ALOT of fun. I'm used to the smaller versions of the B&M Standups like Scorcher and Vortex, so was worried about this one being a little too much. It was great fun.
  18. ^bummer We'll be there and I always have a GREAT time during this event. RIP Tour tickets have always been a great value!
  19. The Voyage Mindbender (SF0G) the inverted helix thingy and the last loop. Dragon at Adventureland. Never ridden a coaster that doesn't slow down at the top of a loop before. Hades - that tunnel is scary as hell, but fun. The rest beat the crap out of me David
  20. #1 was the now defunct Mini-Mine Train at SFoG #100 was somewhere at Cedar Point during the Mid-West tour. #200 was Phoenix (AWESOMENESS with a side of AWESOME!) #294 was Renegade at ValleyFair
  21. Yellow! Okay - not really - I'm a red fan myself.
  22. My personal opinion - The Boss had an amazing layout, but was EXTREMELY painful to ride. The helixes were just about unbearable to me. If the TG treatment works, It could take rides with awesome layouts (like The Boss) and make them not only enjoyable to alot of people, but re-ridable. D,.
  23. One great way to watch what you are eating is to cook at home. I know what I buy, what ingredients I use, etc... I still eat for crap on occasion, but at those times - I know that I am eating for crap. Not a secret to me. Sometimes, bad-for-you food just tastes good.
  24. Sorry to hear about the bee/wasp/stingy-thing issue. Glad it didn't ruin your day. Thanks for taking the time to post this trip report! I haven't been to any of those parks since the East Coast tour in 2008, so it's great to see them.
