  2. Still - Takashi Miike's IMPRINT. Needles - enough said.
  3. ^ A lot of our group did the Zip Lines on the Deep South tour and enjoyed them Immensely. There is a Photo Trip Report of them around here somewhere.
  4. ^Cory - what you described about TPR and the trips in particular is the exact reason why they are so addictive! This summer was my 4th trip, and each trip gets successively better. I got the opportunity to travel with some old friends who I hold very dear, but also got to make some great new friends. Seriously - the people are the number one attraction. The parks bring us all together, but the fellowship and friendships keep us coming back for more.
  5. Do not underestimate the awesomeness that is Prowler. Riding Prowler is the equivalent of touching god. Anyways, I'm glad to see everyone having an awesome time on the IntimidaTour Trip. Kevin - gonna' have to quote you for truth there I truly hope that the people on this trip are having as awesome of a time as we did last week on Middle America. I'm jealous, sad, envious and happy for them reading these updates. David
  6. Steve - you will truly be amazed, confused, turned on and a little uncomfortable! Chuck - as always, I love your PTR's. It was great to hang with you again this year and you are definitely the undisputed champion of shooting ghouls.
  7. Thanks for posting these. I feel the same way as you about Dollywood. I knew it was going to be nice, but was completely blown away when I visited. The food was AMAZING (changed the name to Dollyfood) and Thunderhead was just awesome. Glad you had a good time! David
  8. Thanks for the pictures Mikey! I got a few chuckles at my desk from your captions as well. I, too, loved the cheap food, free refills and cream soda at Strickers. Tornado was also a nice suprise. Hot woodie with pops of air (and that's what she said.)
  9. ^It does kind of suck, doesn't it. I do, however, agree with what Parktrips posted. People really just need to mind their own business. You can't legislate morality. Doesn't work. I think the great state of California has other things that they need to worry about at this juncture. I'm choosing to think of this as "growing pains" for equal rights for everyone. Funny though, California used to be the gay "mecca." Now I guess we should all move to Iowa . David
  10. Danny - it was awesome meeting you and hanging out on Bull during ERT! I feel the same way that you do about Knoebels and about Compounce and Boulder Dash. Thinking back - it seems that you had an AMAZING summer. Hopefully you get to de-compress a bit before school starts back. Also - I have managed to not off myself at my desk since returning from the trip. I thought about flinging myself out of my window, but A) it doesn't open and B) I'm on the first floor David
  11. Saw [REC] last night. Absolutely amazing and preddy damned scary.
  12. Renegade ERT with Theme Park Review's Middle-America tour. Epic night rides for an hour! I'm totally bummed to be back at work today.
  13. City Museum is one of the coolest places I have ever visited. Be sure to bring aspirin and bandages though Six Flags St. Louis was a lot of fun last week with TPR. Freeze is awesome. Boss just plain sucked (we did not ride in the front, and others who did say they enjoyed it.) Son of Beast bad... Excalibur was AWESOME fun and the ride op running it was just hilarious. "...if you feel the need to share your lunch, share it with your riding partner, because sharing is caring and caring is fun!" We had a 117degree heat index, so didn't ride as much as we might usually, but still had a blast. David
  14. Although I hate to put down The One True Coaster, I found Renegade rides after dark to have SUBSTANTIAL air time. Prowler was awesome, but on Renegade, my butt was off the seat for most of the ride.
  15. I'll quote this for truth. Our first ride on Bull during ERT was just off the chain.
  16. You definitely need to come say hi to me! I'll be on the trip. Look forward to meeting everyone! Gonna be a blast!
  17. I remember taking a pass on this one during the Mid-West tour. I'll ride just about anything, but this just scared the crap out of me. Several in my group did it and said it was uber-scary. I'd like to say "I wish I could have ridden this...." but I'd be a liar. I truly hope the girl will be okay and am appalled that there have been more than one accident like this.
  18. Thanks for this. It is really cool and exciting to see what the area is becoming. I remember being sad panda when they closed Astroworld. Cyclone - front seat rides were fun - back seat rides were fun but BRUTAL! David
  19. ^^ Hurler was better this year. Even though it is anethema to put a trim brake at the bottom of a first drop, it really made the ride much better. Still not great, but better and my left side didn't end up bruised.
  20. Kimby - couldn't agree more. It was at Indiana Beach during that trip watching the band EZRA (there's a better band out there, but that's not the point of this post) that I realized that I was "home." Even though I joined this site and went on that first trip as an enthusiast (wasn't a credit whore yet...) I stay around and keep going on trips (my 4th is coming up next week) because of the just cool/odd/wierd/amazing/funny people and the experiences that we have during the trips. The coasters really take a back seat to the people and places. I would have LOVED to have been there for that trip! Just loved it! D.
  21. I can't believe I forgot IMPRINT by Takashi Miike. Truly - not for the faint of heart. I watch TONS of horror films and am used to just about everything...but this one had me hiding my eyes on SEVERAL occasions.
  22. I quit drinking and lost 40lbs. Found 20 of that somewhere . Switched to diet soda and lost 10lbs. Now I live by the "eat less and move more" philosophy and have lost the other 10. Really, eating healthy portions (even if it is crap food) and moving works like a charm for me. I don't like (READ: HATE) to work out, so I don't. By just staying active I can burn calories and stay relatively fit.
  23. ^I was being a bit of a smart-a$$ about SFoG . My first job (A LONG TIME AGO) was there and I absolutely love that park. I just found that Carowinds was "nicer." The staff, the guests, etc... For example, the newly re-vamped Planet Snoopy is just awesome. It's in an established area of the park with trees and shade. A lot of rides and it is HUGE. The thing I noticed about Intimidator is that different sections of the train gave VERY different rides. They were all awesome, but it was a noticable difference between say front and back. I figured it is becasue of the new train styles (I haven't ridden any of the other trains like this.) The trains are very long. I noticed a consitancy throughout the trains on Goliath and AC. Still like Intimidator better. D
  24. ^ I thought that was the BEST RESPONSE EVER!!
