  1. ^Those would be obscure. First I've heard of them
  2. ^You are going to hell for that
  3. This brought me joy! I'm still of the mind that this is a great decision by Cedar Fair. More flats is always good and although not inexpensive, a heck of a lot cheaper than a mega/hyper/giga/whatever. Plus - as I said before, these things look TERRIFYING to me. David
  4. Bite your tounge heathen!!!! Well - I guess it is not for everyone, and if you don't like cinnamon, definitely not for you...on the good side, that leaves that much more for the rest of us! Thanks for the pictures. David
  5. Brandon - it was great meeting both you and Matthew this summer. Had a blast and hope to see you again soon. These pictures, while beautiful, are making me a sad panda as I sit at my desk wishing I were somewhere on a lift hill or something.... David
  6. ^^ well, after large capital expenditures at a couple of parks this year - this is probably a good idea. Not that these things will be cheap, but this could position them for large cap. expenditures in the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
  7. ^ stirs the pot.... Has there been any more news on the girls condition? Ride/operator/park responsibility aside, someone was hurt BADLY. I truly hope she pulls through this. David
  8. ^ Judging from you reaction to Dollywood - you will LOVE Silver Dollar City when you get the chance to go. It is like an older version of Dollywood with a big a$$ cave under it. The ride ops and shops and staff have that same "niceness" to them. This was a definite standout park on the Mid-America tour.
  9. Thanks for this. Great pictures! It has been a LONG LONG time since I've been to SFoT. Mr. Freeze was being built (gosh that makes me feel old.) I am really glad to see that the park is looking great. I remember it fondly. I also dislike the new color scheme on Freeze. It should be ice blue, damnit! D.
  10. ^ regarding Leslie Hall - you got it in one!! That entire evening was just surreal. Awesome... but surreal. Imagine her and an Aussie trekking into the corn field to take Dominatrix style photos. Then, imagine the horror of them emerging from the corn to take over the Skoal Cellar Lounge. Awesome with a side of awesome.
  11. ^ As am I! It will be great to meet you. My BF and I are going as well. It will be my 5th trip!! They are so awesome and addicting that you have to go back every year.
  12. ^ Good point! I forgot to add in the "prototype expense" into the equation in my head. This raises my hopes some. Perhaps The Boss at SFStL will get this treatment. Huge coaster with a unique layout that seemed like it wanted me to pee blood during the SFStL day earlier this month. D
  13. Guy - have you been trying to re-create Nights in White Satin at home???
  14. ^ I am hopeful that other rides will receive this treatment. Let's remember though, this is not cheap. I could see that being an issue with parks. Why spend this kind of money to re-vamp an old structure? Will it increase attendance? I truly hope so, since I think that this is amazing...but I am just a lone coaster enthusiast and not a decision maker at the Park Management Level. D.
  15. To me - this thing looks TERRIFYING! You can take me up in a coaster, flip me three ways to Sunday, launch me or send me backwards - but put me on something with my feet dangling at that height and then spin me around - oh the horror. Can't wait.
  16. Just got to read your trip report. You had me laughing ALOT. Also - BONUS points for adding a Sisters of Mercy reference. For that - you rock. D.
  17. Don't be dissing on the Gold Vest of Awesomeness (henceforth referred to as the GVA.)
  18. Meh - I'd do it. Sounds like fun. Actually, when this news story came out, alot of my friends thought it was "my group" that did it. If you think about it, it does sound very TPRish
  19. It's been a good summer! SFoG Wild Adventures Carrowinds Nick Universe Worlds of Fun Adventureland Silver Dollar City Six Flags St. Louis Six Flags Great America Indiana Beach Holiday World Mt. Olympus ValleyFair Orlando this October as well!
  20. ^ I loved Boondock Saints!! I had never heard of it and when I heard the synopsis I wasn't really looking forward to it. Then it proceeded to blow me away.
  21. There is currently a mountain of regret on my shoulders that I went home after the Middle America Tour and did not do both . I hope, again, that everyone is having a BLAST! It appears to be so.
  22. I'd definitely go with Mine Trains. Lower hight restrictions, out of control, banked turns and they are always something that kids talk about after riding. My first was the Dalonegah Mine Train at SFoG and I remember describing every twist and turn to my friends at school the next day.
  23. I used to know this, but TPR trips and ERT totally screwed it up. I'm pretty sure SFoG's Goliath is over the 100 mark. I've been riding Mindbender, also at SFoG for around 30 years though, so I'm sure that it is the clear winner. Never get tired of good ole Schwartzkopf loving.
  24. Pay off all debt. Finish restoring my house. Take care of family and friends. Travel!!! A lot of TPR trips, of course! I wouldn't invest in or buy or build a theme park - that would take all of my time away from having fun. That kind of money - life of leisure for me.
  25. ^ This is true. Ichi the Killer and Audition come to mind. IMPRINT was a Masters of Horror episode. It is only like an hour long, but Sweet Mary F$%^ it was uber-violent and disturbing. I've seen a lot of gore and even torture porn, but wow - this one even had me covering my eyes. See this if you like Takashi Miike - well worth the rental. D.
