Dave & Ice Bat's Thread Of Awesomeness!
jynx242 replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That was an amazing night. I remember when some of the sleeveless locals walked in and we had to pull James out of the bar. I think someone made the comment, "he's gonna get dragged behind a truck!" Thanks for the updates Dave - I love me some Ice Bat (and you're pretty ok too .) David -
Biggest Disappointment of 2010?
jynx242 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Totally bummed that my lazy a$$ didn't get to Hard Rock/Freestyle while it was (briefly) open whenever that was. Ghost town in the sky - the little park that couldn't? The Middle America trip had to end (biggest bummer by far ) I am really scared of / disturbed by spinning tower rides so Windseekers, although cool looking, aren't going to be my "thing." USF - Halloween Horror Nights - although epic as always, seems to have hit a plateau. I was expecting more for the 20th anniversary. I think I let myself down with expectation vs. reality there. AWESOME MOVIE!!! Yes it is gory as hell, but still amazing. Sarah Brightman as Blind Mag is absolutely brilliant! I love this movie so much I bought it. As far as gore goes, it is from the guy who did the original SAW movie. 'Nuff said. David

Thanks for the update Kevin! I miss my summer trip again Glad to re-live it through your photos. SDC was also my favorite park of the trip! What a great time....Can't wait till this summer!~

Just saw a horrorish movie called "Rest Stop" this weekend (netflix.) It was actually a pretty good flick. Kind of gruesome, hopeless and had pretty decent pacing.

I loved that show! Anywho - the hours and hours of entertainment that this is providing me is wonderful. Job sucks right now, so a little break for some Dipper Hilarity is just what the doctor ordered (if doctors actually ordered such things, that would be cool.) David -

If this is what they are doing, sounds great! I guess we will have to wait to find out for sure, but widening the turn sounds reasonable and a bit less Intimidating (excuse the pun) than re-profiling huge sections of the ride. David -
^Those are great. The flapper is classy, and the cerial boxes on the Lady Gaga costume have me giggling.

Most disturbing movie you've ever seen?
jynx242 replied to Sasquatch's topic in Random, Random, Random
^^ Ichi the Killer!!! Awesome and bizarre flick. It is one of the Masterpieces of Takashi Miike that I spoke of earlier (Audition.) Seriously, if you get the chance, see IMPRINT from the Masters of Horror collection. It is SO OVER THE TOP! -
^^ I love this!!!! This smile should last for the next few hours!

Christmas wishlist 2010/Official list?
jynx242 replied to SymphonyWorld's topic in Random, Random, Random
In this vein - The Aston Martin Vanquish please! If Santa is feeling poor - a mid-80's Lotus Esprit Turbo would do in a pinch Otherwise - CA$H is king. Home Depot gift cards have replaced all other gift cards on my agenda since buying a century old house. Peace on Earth That's it for me . -
Her with the tape over her mouth was AWESOME. I always want to say, "just shut up until you sing sister!"

I totally, TOTALLY enjoyed the Evita number with Kurt and Rachael. "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" was made for them. Also - I absolutely LOVE the Warblers. Enjoyed last night. David

^ My story EXACTLY! I couldn't have put it better myself. As far as gaining weight - although Wes' advice is quite on point - there might be somewhere where it is not the amount you eat but WHAT you eat. Carbs vs. proteins, etc. Just a thought. I used to be in that situation, and am now in kind of the opposite. My mid-30's I ended up at almost 200lbs, which was WAY TOO BIG for me. I now hover between 165 - 175 lbs and am pretty okay there. Just the middle-age spread is really starting to kill off my "inner child."

Sad, but true my friend. Sad, but true.

I just want to interject how much I still love this show. The Warblers version of "teenage dream" made me like the song again, even though it was totally overplayed. Also - I just love the plot swerves and curves this season. I did think the Sue marrying herself storyline to be a bit odd - but Carol Burnette made up for everything!!! David

Did Summers/Dinn make ANY good coasters?
jynx242 replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great thread! I'll agree to most everything that has been said. There are a ton of variables to consider. I am of the "trains" school. PTC's have done their jobs well over the decades, but with the more maneuvers that the D/S coasters tried, along with the even more agressive designs of Gravity Group, the PTC's just aren't built to do those things. I think they seem to rip the heck out of the track which causes a rougher ride. I don't bash too much on PTC's though, when I think of G-Trains (shudder) David -

^ Remember - they are calling it a "Family" coaster rather than a "Kiddie." They used to mean roughly the same thing to me, but the more I go to parks with TPR, the more I learn the difference. This looks like a lot of fun and I look forward to riding it next summer (bearing no problems with construction) on the North East tour! David (wish it could go NINETY- DEGREES) McCollum
