  1. Hey again Dave - Your analysis of Hellcat is pretty cool. I never thought of it that way - I like it, but have only ridden it during two TPR trips and have never ridden it really empty. As far as my beloved Voyage - yes, the rides were that rough on the Middle America trip. Rough enough to drop it from my #1 spot, and I am a huge Voyage fan boy. David
  2. This is great!! Congratulations! I'm assuming he liked it (the ride and the engagement ) David
  3. This would be me! I still absolutely love the Voyage, but it dropped from my number 1 spot because it has gotten rougher. Thanks David for the post, by the way. Welcome, or welcome back!
  4. Thanks for this Joey! I'm totally loving it. I can say that Middle America was the first time in my 4 trips with TPR that I did not lose weight. I actually gained weight. R&E did an amazing job on the trip (as always) but totally kicked a$$ in the food department! Buco De Beppi was AMAZING. All I remember of the bus ride to Iowa was going into a food coma as soon as we boarded.
  5. ^ Oh...my...God...and I thought it dropped in my eyes because of roughness!! Now I realize that Robb must have mentally bamboozled me into dropping it. Damn him!! Get..out...of...my...head...dude!
  6. Another thing I don't get...If you look at Robb's ballot - even with his grouping method, Voyage is a 3rd tier coaster and there are MANY below it. It isn't even really in his bottom Wooden Coasters. Yeah - people are stupid.
  7. Well I think you guys know that I ranked it high . It did fall to number 2 for me due to slapping me around and making me its bitc# last summer - but I'm still an avowed fan boy. And I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love Robb and Elissa and respect their opinions, but have always (friendly) disagreed about Voyage. Opinions are just that, opinions. As far as "rigging" a poll for TPR - why the hell would we want to rig a poll. People are just stupid sometimes. D
  8. When you are young - you just need to be you. There is no need to identify one way or the other at this point. I'm not going to go all parental and stuff (okay, maybe I am) but just be yourself. You don't need to be having "relations" with anyone yet. Straight guys are quite capable of "man-crushes" and gay guys get their "girl-crushes." Doesn't make them different than what they are - we just like people for who they are. Also - before I actually came out, I really enjoyed being Sexually Ambiguous. It adds a sense of mystery and people were always wondering . It's kind of like free press!
  9. ^ Some of the most psychotic evenings in my life (during the 90's) happened there!!!
  10. DEFINITELY!! At least 2 of us (JP and I.) I'll check with Jay at home later and see what he thinks! david
  11. I'll agree! Loved her!
  12. ^ Laura - after riding coasters like TimberWolf and Outlaw with you, it is my opinion that you would REALLY like the Beast. I know I did. Yes there are trims and yes it slows it down rediculously, but it is still just a fun ride to me. I did have one less than pleasant experience sitting on a wheel seat during night rides. That was pretty brutal, but still fun. I'd love to see it get topper track and a little more banking in the helices - it would be epic. David - not a purist - McCollum
  13. When Batman the Ride was new (Brand New) at SFoG, a group of friends and I waited 4 hours to ride, then went back around and did it again. Also - was part of a psychotic group that had WAY too many people in a Splash Mountain boat at WDW ("clench and squish everybody.) Twas an awesome ride, and the splash was GIANORMOUS! Also - HHN and a large group of us Chanting random things like "shark, shark, shark, FIRE, FIRE, FIRE" on Jaws. D.
  14. I waited in line for 2 hours and rode Dive to Atlantis at Mt. Olympus. I'm still bitter and soaked. same
  15. I love the tunnel on Loch Ness Monster. I'll also agree on the SFoG Mine Train. That one is just plain wrong! Voyage's triple-down in the tunnel is amazing and tunnels don't get any freakier than on Hades (wish the rest of the ride could compare with the awesomeness that is the underground portion.) The coaster at Rye Playland has a pretty cool tunnel as well. Kind of reminds me of the old Starliner tunnel. David
  16. I am quite happy with the results of this poll. And take it from an avowed Voyage fanboy - even I didn't rank it number one this year. Boulderdash got that spot for me. I've found that I can still be a huge fan of a coaster, and not rank it number 1. I wouldn't call myself a Boulderdash fanboy, but as of now - it has delivered the most insane and fun ride. I am a HUGE fan of the Voyage, but this year - it was too rough for even my masochistic behind. I really look forward to seeing if the new trains can get it back to where I first rode it, but I voted from my experience last summer which was too rough on the spine to rank at #1. My thoughts will probably change after the NorthEast trip this year - Toro just didn't blow me away last time I rode it - but it could have been just me. I don't remember which day Gread Adventure hit on the East Coast tour - but I do know I was freaking tired that day . David
  17. Station looks very nice! I definitely look forward to this on the NorthEast tour this summer. I've been on Mystery Mine and Spongebob whatever... this summer I'll get this one and SFoG's as well.
  18. ^ I noticed the big, empty stage for that last week! It seems to me, that thinking "outside the box" for theme park shows doesn't really work for parks like Six Flags.
  19. Last night's episode was a RIOT!!! I love the fact that Brittany just knocked Ke$ha OUT OF THE FREAKING PARK! Damn, that girl can dance. We all laughed our way through the whole episode. Also - I love the friendship building up between Coach Beist and Mr. Schuster. Just made me smile!
  20. Had a motorcycle accident in the 80's and broke my arm and my jaw. Having your teeth wired shut for 2 months sucks. D.
  21. Saint Trillians School for Bad Girls - if you haven't seen this, it is freaking AWESOME Bitch Slap - it's like Charlies Angels + Kill Bill, but with lipstick lesbians! Zombie Strippers - I can't stress the awesomeness of this movie enough! David
  22. Larry - when we were there on the East Coast tour in 2008 the lines were pretty long for everything. We has PLENTY of time in the park and morning AND night ERT, but during the day the lines got upwards of 45min - 1 hour for Superdooperlooper, Great Bear and the Racers...we didn't even go near Stormrunner and Fairenheit during the day.
  23. I love love love Lake Compounce! BD is absolutely amazing and the park is just plain nice! I'll agree with WildCat though - it is brutal.
  24. The Middle America Tour!! A blast from the beginning to end. Coaster Stock - getting to ride with Pufferfish and Skycoastin Steve on night ERT on Intimidator was a blast! Easter at SFoG - the godless heathen tour is always epic! HHNXX...had a blast with Scott, James, Jay, Mike and Michael!
  25. You know something? I have just realized that TPR and I have a lot in common. I make fun of myself first and foremost - that makes everyone else fair game . I also want to applaud Robb for his handling of this. It would be EASY to become hurt and angry. It's human nature when someone is attacking you. Hell - I get offended when people spout this crap about the Alveys. I like them and consider them friends. I don't like people bashing on my friends. Robb, however, has handled this with wit and dignity. THAT, I think drives them battier than anything else. You Go Robb and Elissa. David
