  1. I rarely give blood (unless there is a SEVERE shortage around) because I have to lie on the questionairre. I know that my blood is drug and disease free (been tested regularly since I was in my 20's), but they still have the "gay" question on there. I still occasionally donate, as I have a fairly rare blood type, but I personally don't like having to lie about myself to be able to help others. I did sell blood plasma my freshman year in college to support my beer habit (mom and dad cut me off ) Sorry about the aside - I'm still an organ doner.
  2. Matthew - you are overlooking one important fact. You are a good looking guy. There is absolutely no need for you to change ANYTHING! The veneers look great, but what else could you possibly want to change? The above posters are referring to the phenomena of Body Dismorphic Disorder. To put it simply, it is when people look in the mirror and absolutely hate what they see for no reason apparent to anyone else on the planet. This post isn't coming from a slamming on you place, just a post from someone (who you don't really know ) who is concerned for your well being. Unnecessary elective surgeries is DANGEROUS. Just think before you cut, okay? David
  3. I am. Never thought about not being one. I'm being cremated, so no use for the parts that might still work to be converted to ash when they could help someone else. To each their own, so I can understand why some might not - but I will. David
  4. ^ This made me smile! David
  5. I was probably 4 and rode the Mini-Mine Train at SFoG. As soon as I was old enough, the Mine Train was next - then at about age 12, Mindbender. After that, I was totally hooked and it still ranks in my top 10. David
  6. That sounds like a capital idea!
  7. Trust me - you will have NO PROBLEM. TPR is so damned Gay Friendly that you can't swing a cat at an event or on a trip without hitting at least 5 of us! Wish I could go this year, but vacation time is limited (boyfriend doesn't get nearly the time off I do) so we're waiting until next year. If you can make it go Atlanta for Easter, you can meet some TPR Gays at Six Flags for my annual Godless Heathen Birthday weekend d.
  8. ^Who cares what the teacher listens to, he's freaking HOT!! Teachers didn't look like that at my high school. If they did, I might have paid more attention in all of those damned AP classes. David
  9. For some reason I figured this would already be vertical. SFoG opens in March...I expected them to be much further along than this. Hopefully it will be running for my yearly "Godless Heathen Easter Tour" at SFoG. d.
  10. I just have to say that sitting here, 3000 miles away from home; cold, miserable and lonely - THIS THREAD HAS MADE MY DAY!!! Chris - A) I really like your Potterland Photo and it is (if I'm not mistaken) the only picture of Orlando on this thread, and B) I saw your Invertalon Meme Generator thread on Facebook at lunch and had to laugh about it, then look up this thread. Good job sir! David
  11. Dave - I thought we'd already agreed that the name of the bar would be "The Hairy Nipple." What happened?
  12. Um - I think that is exactly what most of us have said...
  13. The current G-Trains don't have a great reputation on woodies. They look great, but for some reason, produce rougher and rougher rides as time goes on (Cheetah at Wild Adventures and The Boss at SFStL). After a SUBSTANTIAL re-tracking, Cheetah was running wonderfully this year, but the Boss...front seat ride or spinal tap - you decide. These trains, however, are actually on steel, not wood, so I'd be more apt to make contrasts and such with their steel car designs. With allowances made for what Chadster said above ^^ beat me to it. David
  14. Along with all of the other replies - Mt. Olympus building Hades and then not maintaining it. They built a coaster that they could not POSSIBLY (and would not probably) maintain. Also, only having one train for it. And - frozen pigs will fly in hell before they spend money to convert it to Timberliners.
  15. Agreed Tomi! Looks scary as hell!
  16. Same thing happened to me. At first I was thinking, "wow - there is a LOT more airtime than usual!" Then realized that the seatbelt was the only thing holding us in. Although scary as all hell, it was truly one of the most AMAZING rides I've ever had on the SFoG Scream Machine!
  17. ^ Laura - on this summers trip, we are totally going to ride a coaster together and I'm getting you the on-ride so you can post it here! David
  18. Quoted for Truth my friend. A FUN group to travel with and enjoy not just the roller coasters, but the entire park experiences.
  19. In the spirit of being a pain in the a$$: tunnel=bad! David
  20. The Boss!! Please - do something! Georgia Cyclone - love that ride but damn, it hurts now.
  21. Scott - it must have been the heat. I'm walking right next to you guys in that picture and am totally not even noticing that you and Jen are having an Ice-Bat-Three-Way.
  22. I am just DEVESTATED about any changes being made to the ending that SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN NAMED . Actually, I'll wait and see. Personally - in its original form, that ending needed nothing. Absolutely nothing. Having ridden this coaster something like 15 years ago and still remembering the absolute insanity of the last little bit of the ride - it had enough of an impact.
  23. Personally - slower staff is annoying, but add ALCOHOL to the crowd and it is just bad news. Any time I'm in a park where there is drinking going on (HHN for example) the guests in the park kind of come unglued. Not saying I'm against alcohol in parks - hell, I used to be one of the unglued guests . I agree with Steve though - I've seen some of the same minimum wage employees absolutely LOVE their jobs at theme parks and work their butts off getting trains dispatched. I was one of those minimum wage employees (a LONG time ago - I made $3.20 / hour) and just enjoyed being at work. Some responsibility can be placed on management, but the ops themselves have to be held to at least some standard and have to be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof. David
  24. This past summer on the Middle America tour, right at the end of Mr. Freeze ERT we went through the course, but stopped before the train got back to the loading station and smelled burning electrics. They finally got things worked out, but had to push the train back to the loading platform. Needless to say, that side did not operate for the rest of the day. On Garfields Nightmare at Kennywood, our boat kept bottoming out, so we had to push ourselves along to keep moving. Then, where the photos are taken, we felt like we almost flipped the boat - our looks of terror are awesome so I bought the souvenier photo as a refrigerator magnet and have it to this day.
  25. Yayyyy for pictures of Kerry B (love you sugar britches) and playdates for Ice Bat!!!
