  1. Thank you for posting this! I love seeing these little places that are on the other side of the world from me.
  2. You are dead to me - I kid....I kid... In my experience, I find that I just don't "get" coasters that people love sometimes. Also, it is an unfortunate fact that when you ride and where you ride play a HUGE role in this as well. Example: First time I rode El Toro - we rode it first thing in the morning. Everyone on the trip with me said it wasn't running well - but I really just didn't get the enthusiasm for it. Fast forward 2 years later - rode it in the afternoon and had ERT at night....OMG - face melting speed and stomach flipping airtime. What a great ride. Raven: rode it in the morning, liked it but just did not get it - then, we rode it after dark. OMG, it felt like I was on a different ride! Beast: non-wheel seat during day, liked it. Non-wheel seat at night - LOVED it. Wheel-seat at night: My chiropractor loved it but me... not so much. I've never gotten Milennium Force or Maverick at Cedar Point. I'll be visiting for the 1st time in 7 years in about 2 weeks and I am really looking forward to having my opinion updated David
  3. Love it. Re-watching the series starting from Christopher Eccleston again.
  4. As someone completely uninterested in basketball - this sounds incredibly stupid Oh well - from what I overheard today - he came back to Cleveland. Ugh...I just got used to Dale Earnhartd theming. D
  5. OMG - I LOATHE LOATHE LOATHE Devin. I really can't wait for them to send him packing! I loved the Zach and Frankie "bromance" and I'm totally convinced that there was more going on than they said I love the Hayden, Kristin and Nicole trio. They all seem kind of "out there" but are playing a pretty good game so far. I absolutely LOVE Donny. Cody is incredibly hot Derrek is playing an amazing game so far. Frankie pisses me off. That is all I can think of right now. David
  6. Kind of depends on what you want to do after your first ride, and what fast passes you have booked. I'd start with Thunder Mountain (because it is in the back of Frontierland) - then perhaps Splash Mountain - do both before lines get huge - then fast pass your way across the park towards Space Mountain.
  7. What a fantastic trip report Andy! I look forward to meeting you in a few weeks for the Mini-East coast tour!
  8. I love speculation threads! I also love Holiday World. The two combined....bliss... I am fairly confident, that whatever they get - will be very, very good. I am completely confident, that they can afford to get whatever they want and that they won't "skimp" on this. Voyage is freaking awesome and was truly groundbreaking when it was built. HW has worked dilligently to keep it from beating the crap out of you, even gone as far as to try for prototype trains (timberliners) to help with maintenance. Pilgrims Plunge - was truly an interesting and fun ride. The lift was terrifying and the drop was fun. I never saw it not working, but obviously there were issues. Still - they purchased and installed a fun ride. I know so very little about footers and their coorelation with particular coaster companies - and I really just don't have time to research it; so I am thankful to those of you who have done it for me . If this is truly a B&M - good for them! I'd love for it to be a return to the Kumba days (as that is one of my absolute favorite rides anywhere,) but I think the newer style - really fun but less intense - would suit Holiday World better. Either way - they won't let us down. Thanks Paula for driving us wierd coaster people crazy with this campaign. It has been a blast so far!!
  9. White Lightning - Fun Spot Orlando - first time with night rides - It was pretty spectacular
  10. Great report as always Divv. Thanks for posting
  11. Thanks for the pictures! I always really enjoy Indiana Beach. Sad to hear that the "insane" cycle isn't being run on the flats like it used to though!
  12. For me - Amusement Parks edge it out. I think it is because, growing up in Atlanta, Disney Vacations were few and very far between. It was just too expensive for my family. SFoG, however, we went to often. I am still an adrenaline junkie at heart, so I still prefer amusement parks. HOWEVER - I now live in Orlando and have Annual Passes to Disney, Universal and Busch. I am (slowly) learning to slow down and actually take in the theming and environment around me. Disney has started to blow me out of the water with their attention to detail. I have the feeling, that now that "Theme Parks" are not out of my reach - I will slide toward that end of the scale; but thinking about this question today - I have to go with Amusement Parks. D
  13. ^ Love it! Looks like that was an awesome trip. and Thanks Bert
  14. Well, well, well - Other People Exist - remember this and everyone gets along fine Walking backwards is never a really good decision - especially in a theme park Spitting shows a lack of class Making out in public shows a lack of class - holding hands and hugging is, however, acceptable. If you bounce your basketball to show how cool you are - people around you probably think you are a douchebag
  15. This is great! Having met some of these guys over the years with TPR - I am truly excited for them and really look forward to what they are going to do!
  16. Wow Shane!! This place looks AMAZING and seeing it go from the ground up has been a real treat. I know you are super-duper busy, but wanted to send my best wishes and good luck for opening! David
  17. I can understand skepticism regarding Golden Horse -but sheesh, when did we become so hateful? Good luck to you Camiel and I hope you keep us updated with your progress. David
  18. This is all very exciting, but I have to say.... Paula - I LOVE THE SHOES!!
  19. I've often wondered why this park doesn't operate like SFoG. It is an even older park - but is maintained well and gets regular updates. Sure - it doesn't have an RMC, but it has 4 B&M's, DDD, two woodies, the standard mine train, a vekoma death machine, the best Schwartzkopf in the country (in my opinion ) and a kiddie. Does it just pull in larger numbers each year?
  20. I haven't posted here in a long time. Here I am Dressed for work Casual attire
  21. ^^OMG - I am SO sorry to hear that. I know I'm far away, but if I can do anything to help let me know I'll be thinking of you. David
  22. As always, thank you for the update Adam. I think we will try to go check things out sometime in the next week - to see what we can see. For those waiting on the crowds to "die down" in this area - I'd like to help manage your expectations. They won't. The original Potterverse in IoA is STILL very crowded. I've learned to except it and still enjoy the area for what it is. From what I've read - the Gringott's ride will not be available on Express Pass (like the Forbidden Journey.) What we have done, when we have friends in town who really want to ride Forbidden Journey - is get there around opening - go there and be prepared to wait a while (the line gets much longer as the day goes on.) Luckily - the queue lines are very well themed - so there is stuff to look at while you wait.
  23. ^ Good for you!!! Pride celebrations are a lot of fun!
  24. ^ I hope you have an AMAZING time. Be sure to let us know how everything goes. David
  25. Thanks so much for these reviews Adam. I cannot wait to go check everything out. I was there last week when the walls had come down, so you could see the London Waterfront - but I really look forward go going in.
