  1. Translation: Prowler is still tossing folks like a rag doll, Zach loves pain. Crap talked.
  2. I completely missed this somehow, so BUMP. Great report, I always love reading first experiences, even if I have never been to CGA. I was extremely curious to hear your thoughts on Railblazer, and I feel like you hit it exactly how I felt on my first WW ride. It was super intense and quick, but the straps? Why?! Multiple rides should not cause such consistent bruising. I have posted about this enough times, but I was just so shocked by how much the restraints affected the ride experience. I went in with such high hopes because they LOOK so amazing. YouTube videos almost look unreal it moves so fast. I wonder if the high expectations played a role in why I was so let down by the ride. Interesting you thought Goldstriker was the best in the park. Not sure what I would have expected, but mainly just happy to hear it was a good well-rounded ride. I wish I could say the same for Prowler...
  3. Why so spicy tonight, Mike? I care what LaRonde is doing, I want all Six Flags parks to do that too. Sounds like there's a chance I might get that, too. I was hoping this whole idea would crash and burn hard on them. How long had the former season pass policy been in place? As long as I have had Six Flags season passes at least. It was a major part of their overall business model as far as I am concerned: get more people in the door for cheap and then rip them off while they're there. This was a complete change of direction and slap in the face to those who enjoyed the model.
  4. Wah wah. This is a bummer. Raptor models have so much potential, it is too bad RMC can't seem to get the restraints right. The restraints totally ruined my ride on WW, and aren't Jersey Devil's restraints a revised 2nd generation design?
  5. Great report! Carowinds is definitely a park I'd love to get to some day. Hopefully before Nighthawk is retired... Wasps? No thank you, though!
  6. I wonder what this data looks like adjusted for number of guests: incidents per visitor. Could just be a nice click bait article. We all know how well Cedar Fair has done recently in terms of operating hours...
  7. Oof! I never fully understood the love for Mindbender and Shockwave, but I did think Mindbender was better. If it is only as good as Shockwave or worse now... Sad day.
  8. The fire happened a few weeks ago, dang. That website didn't say, but the official website says October 31st for reopening as Bill noted. "Just one week after celebrating the long-delayed grand opening of its luxury retail and dining wing, "The Avenue," one of American Dream's longest-running tenants will remain shut for at least one week after an early-morning fire on Saturday." Source Convenient timing for a fire that will bring them back "better than ever" with that sweet insurance money.
  9. Call it Purple Tony's Bizarro Manta Swirl for all I care. As long as it fits in nicely and keeps absorbing people so the lines are shorter for better rides.
  10. I know nothing of the comics world and don't watch the movies. However, the wiki page for "Bizarro" mentioned a battle with Aquaman so I figured there was at least some relation. One way or another seems like a re-theme to fit the revamped area around Aquaman to me.
  11. Is Pandemonium getting a Bizarro re-theme to accompany Aquaman next year since they are right next to one another? Those colors look familiar...
  12. Denver came to mind first, but Seattle is another dead zone.
  13. Most everything was running when I was there last, including the HUSS condor. Very minimal lines, and multi train operations. I wasn’t there for Haunt so I cannot comment on that. If you have never been I urge you to ride Cyclone Sam’s before you leave. Just do it, don’t look anything up about it, don’t worry if there is a line, just ride it and thank me later. You going to be in town just that evening?
  14. I thought the same thing for WOF. I can get to STL in 3.5 hrs, I’ll hope he’s stopping in Columbia to cheer on Mizzou.
  15. Tweeted like the hot breaking VF news it truly is.
  16. Nothing. That's the point. SFStL is still better than the other chain park across the state. What he said. I didn't drive 10 hours as a kid to visit Cedar Point for no reason.
  17. ^^Check the population growth in the St. Louis metro over the past 10 years. Oh wait, there hasn't been any. The park is at the bottom of the chain and isn't getting big investments because it is in a dead metro area that wasn't very big to begin with. Go look for the listing I did of what SFStL has gotten compared to WOF in the past decade somewhere here on the forum and be happy you're in STL and not here in KC. Everyone wants a big new ride at SFStL, I too have been dreaming since the late 2000s. The point here is they don't do things based on fantasy, the investment has to make money. They are investing in keeping the park running as-is and that's fine.
  18. Soooo.... the business knows business economics. They don't have an opinion, they don't "hate" the park. They like money.
  19. I really appreciate this perspective, and I have ridden Prowler so many times and have TRIED to like it, but I just don't. I never get off thinking "that was fun!" It usually is something more like "that was work" and that is a shame. It makes me wonder if I like "fun and floaty" more than I like "intense and snappy," but Maverick is one of my favorites and the Batman clones are always solid. I think Prowler just needs to have a few moments of coming up for a breath of air. Getting tossed about and whipped back and forth is only fun when it is smooth, and a good floater hill would give a moment to break things up. I think it is worth saying one more time just to clarify: Timber Wolf is no longer terribly rough and is totally re-ridable. Everyone in my group talked about how smooth it was. Ride it while it lasts!
  20. I should know better than to read Zach’s posts as written! Definitely sad to see Eagle close, but at least it is just to clean up that corner of the park and not to… I won’t even dare say.
  21. ^I have never had a smooth ride on it… but “newest” was certainly a joke there (yes, technically correct, I know)! I won’t say the wheels are square, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Prowler was equipped with octagons.
  22. I think Kim said just Eagle, not the whole park!
