Not sure if it has been mentioned, but reservations are no longer required at either Six Flags park in Texas... might be chainwide, but I only know about Texas. ^Thanks for the update, sorry to hear about your experience with NTG! We will have to consider Terry Black's, we were looking for places to visit while in town! Speaking of food in Texas, where is the best place to get actual good food at SFoT? The barbeque place by the Oil Rig looks to have good google reviews....

My judgement says this isn't great. Did anything happen other than one location shooting off a bunch of the same or similar firework? What? There were lights too? Cool. So cool. I bet kids enjoy it at least. -

Sounds expensive for the park (and chain). Is the show any good? Nostalgic (aka an old tradition) does not mean good or worth it. Not me. I wouldn't care. -

I can confirm that it is not even Memorial Day and that no one, not even SFStL employees, know what the last day the park will be open this year. Confirmed. (Yes the calendar ends, the intern hasn't finished deciding what to enter this week because their boss hasn't told them.) -

^It is literally the third day they have been open since being closed forever, on a holiday weekend even. I am not impressed, I would have expected it to be crazy today. How are the operations? Are they running rides at full capacity? -
Someone should be questioning why the dummy flew out, as I can only hope they did. If it’s harmless, great. But I am sure they checked in 2005 to make sure it wasn’t a support or something else that caused the dummy’s head to fall off. It needs to be questioned, the same way it was questioned when the boats went flying off the water slide. Apples and oranges, surely nothing to be amped up about, but not something to ignore. If there’s an ejection death on Jersey Devil in the future I guarantee we will be coming back to and quoting this page.

^Meanwhile, locals like me are driving to Texas next week to hit up SFOT and SFFT... bye WoF, thanks for being true to yourself and never changing.... -
The Boss. The Boss. The Boss. The layout could be improved by RMC, but it doesn't need it! It just needs to be smooth again. I-box was great for rides like Mean Streak that were terrible even if they were smooth, most of those layouts needed revision one way or another. I can see how this is different than I-box which needs new ledgers, trains, equipment, etc. If they can essentially use this in place of the wooden re-tracking/maintenance most parks do in small sections on a yearly basis anyways, this is a no-brainer technology for RMC that should certainly sell well.

I think others have addressed this already... but yea, these are actual in-park prices as of this past weekend, That is the cheap soda too! We ended up getting the "$30 unlimited refills all season at any park" bottle, because that math makes sense quite quick. Of course, Six Flags knows I will think that, they don't know I'll make it worth it though! -

Inequality is rampant in many cities, but this conversation is off course. You could discuss regional disproportionality in any city. SFStL is doing a good job of making the park available to those of any background, at least to get in. If only the prices were as forgiving once you get in the door... oompf. $14 for a turkey leg these days? $8 for a soda? How do parks defend these prices? McDonalds sells drinks for $1 any size right outside the park... those prices have got to be 95% profit for the park! -
This is totally legitimate! I posted about it in Six Flags corporate thread back in November when I took advantage of SFStL's deal. We already activated ours and are ready to park and play across the country. We are planning on going to SFOT, SFFT, SFNE, SFGAdv, SFA, and SFGAm, none of which we have ever been to. It helps we have adult money now, but you can't pass up that deal!

In case anyone was wondering... from a population stance St. Louis is not a great bet. Above is STL metro population. It appears to be growing for the most part, but let’s compare to KCMO across the state: Notice how the population growth remains positive? Now let’s compare to NW Arkansas: In an economic sense, STL is not very investable right now. There are areas with much more potential nearby. -

I am not sure I hear the boo-hoo-ing going on here. This park is still great, and it will continue to be as the improvements come. St. Louis is a stagnant market, the improvements will meet the demand. Be happy you don’t live near Worlds of Fun like me! -

A reply from Elissa and my day is made. It clearly still has a high rider demand and even with the exhausting ride all the younger folks behind me claiming they'd been "re-birthed" went around and rode again. It didn't stop me from riding, and here I am posting about it. As much as I'd love to see it refurbished, if people keep riding why do it from a financial perspective? On a COVID-19 note, the park still requires a mask and they were very strict and vocal about keeping your mask on at all times. They were stopping rides and sanitizing them once per hour. Everything was full capacity otherwise. The mask strictness was especially apparent on rides, the ops would come over the speaker and tell people to put their mask on during the ride. Interesting because WOF's new policies are much less stringent: -

Has LR been more reliable lately? I am guessing it must be based on the lack of feedback here. -

Made it to the park yesterday with my husband for the first time in many years. I don't recall when it last was, but my best guess is 2014 because Boomerang was in but not Fireball or Spinsanity. That said, I used to frequent this park and had a season pass in the 2007-2010 timeframe. The main reason for visiting was to activate our season passes for 2021, which we got for $50 with parking included. We arrived at the park around 2:30 pm. The new sign is not impressive. That is all. The new front entrance was very nice, but the season pass processing was even nicer. How long have you not had to go to member services to activate your pass? I was very impressed that our pictures were taken at the gate and we were handed our season passes immediately as we walked in. It didn't take long to realize it was dead at the park. Since we already had our passes, we figured we would ride a few rides. A nice cool day with rain potentially in the forecast kept crowds low. We immediately walked right onto Batman. The new queue cut-through is smaller than I thought, but it will still be nice. Batman has so much reserve queue available it needed a shortcut. The dividers in Batman's queue were the only ones with plexiglass, all of the others were still little caves. This is new to me, but it had a line and we were not about lines today. My husband used to work in this pizza place before we knew each other. Now it is another boarded up building in the Screamin' Eagle area. Along with this (Superman is in the background here). And all of this. And all of this. Hopefully Catwoman revamps this area. Eagle was a walk-on though and it still holds its place! There might be people here. I see you former double helix! Boss was open, as was pretty much everything (including Excalibur and Thunder River). I have to say, I love Boss and always have, but it has gotten BRUTAL. I LOVE THE BOSS. The layout is the best of the best, as are the elements. The airtime and laterals are still strong, but the jackhammering is just too much. The MCBR doesn't kill the speed as much as I thought it would, but the ride is just too rough. Something has got to give. Even the new helix was terrible. Supergirl was fun and has a great lighting package. Some new wood in the Boss queue. Boss had the cave theme going on too. Headache ensued after this picture. The former Catwoman area. Anyone know what they are doing with the go karts now? We went to Mr. Freeze after this, then American Thunder. Both were fantastic. I think American Thunder might be my favorite GCI I have ridden still to this day. Great airtime today. And the only ride of the day with a significant line goes to DC blaster masters or whatever it is these days. I didn't ride Scooby Doo for years because the line was always long, I guess this one will be the same. Dark rides aren't my thing anyways. Overall we spent about 2 hours at the park and got to ride everything we wanted and more. Off to new parks we haven't been to we go!
