Has anyone ridden Mamba without the terrible mid-course halt? I remember riding it as early as 8th grade which was about 15 years ago for me and it wasn't any good then either. I get a thrill out of Mamba by holding my hands as high as I can and letting my brain think those headchoppers in the helix are going to snap off my arms at the elbow... Is there any particular reason they run it this way? Do the 3-row-cars increase the stress on the trains through the tight radius bunny hops enough to justify a slower operation, maintenance-wise? And @pianojohn I have never gotten off Prowler excited about my ride... It's never terrible but not quite enjoyable either.

I have always loved Patriot's paint scheme as well, and while it is more tame, it has some of the best invert airtime I've experienced with that hop over the station. I don't know if "good" rides on Prowler are more elusive than it seems but I have never really thought much of it. Honestly, I'd take Timber Wolf over it because if I am going to be shaken around anyways I know I will at least get some airtime!

Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

Interesting resume, if SFA were its own stock market I’d be putting my money in the food scene. I wonder how his food background will be able to make an impact on other park operations. -

That new paint job on Freeze was so welcome, and it was great to see it wasn’t red track like SFoT went for. I remember thinking when you posted that test swatch: “Yuck please, no!” Nothing says frozen cold quite like RED! I am realizing as you post these I might be old enough now to post some pictures of my own that will feel nostalgic for some... strange. *Goes searching for old floppy disks* -

I am not cool enough to receive emails from WoF, but anyone know if they happened to send out an opening date like the other Cedar Fair parks? On another note, WoF broke ground 50 years ago and the park posted a nice article about it with photos: https://www.worldsoffun.com/blog/2021/breaking-ground-on-worlds-of-fun-50-years-ago Riptide racer is looking ready for riders as well: -

Am I the only one who always has these images under the "posted images" greeting them on the right side of this thread? They give me a small heart attack every time I open the thread thinking someone is posting current images and the rumors are true... -

Got an email about this and was surprised no one had posted about it, it's a pretty great deal! This link is for SFStL, but it looks like all of the parks are doing it. Includes admission and parking to all parks and non-separate admission water parks, and a free ticket for someone else any day in 2021. You have until the end of Monday to decide. Things should be mostly normal by late summer, right?!

Prozach do you realize how much of a hypocrite you are? Here is you saying you think SFStL is better than WoF: And here is you in the WoF thread saying the opposite, all while joining in on the ever cliche topic of Patriot's "forcelessness": But wait, is that you saying you haven't been to SFStL in years?! Ah, now I totally understand why you're so qualified to be SFStL thread records keeper... what? Let's keep going though. Here is you getting corrected in the WoF thread for incorrect reasoning and conceding that you should have checked your facts: You're so calm when the person who forgot to do their reading is YOU, yet so volatile when others haven't read 400 something pages to your liking? And was that a mention of subjectivity at the end there? I thought opinions were only tolerable if they were new and innovative? We're doing so well, so let's top it off with a cherry: This post was just 3 posts ahead of the last post of yours I quoted in the WoF thread. Sounds kind of similar to SFStl Fan's innocent post you blew up about, yet you didn't scold xXCcsc918Xx for posting something that many others have. I'd love to keep going, but the more I look around the forums the more I agree with these posts: Pot, meet Kettle. If this person is expected to monitor his posts so they aren't repetitive to you, shouldn't you be offering the rest of us the same consideration? For real dude. So thank you prozach, for I will now have less crap to read on these forums when I see your posts and elect to keep scrolling. On topic: This year's new addition sucks and I can't wait til we get a new big steel coaster! My brain is already on hold for 2015's announcement! -

Timber Wolf was plenty rough for my visit too, it always amazing me how strong of airtime it has though. Prowler was just okay for me. Not bent up about waiting so long to ride it at all. Too much throwing you around back and forth and not enough airtime... like at all. I wouldn't even say it cracks my top ten. Poop. -

^I haven't ridden Prowler yet but judging from past "post retracking" rides on Timber Wolf and rides on other GCI coasters I hope that isn't true; and I feel like it's probably a bit of a stretch. Unless of course the rehab has been incredibly extensive or Prowler has deteriorated like Gwazi.... I'll be there next week so I'll be happy to share my findings. -
Schlitterbahn Kansas - Verrückt Water Slide

Drove past Schlitterbahn today... Can't say I'm all that drawn to visit but Verrückt does look intimidating. I can't tell if its all the Kansas nothingness behind it or if it's actually pretty dang tall! -

I've always thought WOF could benefit from a good solid launched coaster. A launch is something they've been without for... well... forever. -

Fixed. Mamba's height doesn't make it any more thrilling, and Patriot is just fun; if it didn't have inversions it'd be a family ride too. -

I may be biased, but if enthusiasts were able to ride Ninja with anticipation of the only rough part of the ride (the half loop "immelman") I doubt they'd rate it so low. I've ridden much more boring rides in the same park (River King Mine Train, anyone?) and I'd hardly rate it as my worst coaster. -

Looks amazing! Wonder why one of the car's lights weren't working yet, though. Hopefully a minor glitch and not an ongoing problem, those lights are definitely a defining feature of the ride. -

Amen to that. Ninja's shelf-life is way over overdue. Yank it, scrap it, melt it down ..and then put in this 'Signature' ride. They don't need to bother using Ninja's space, a real signature ride wouldn't fit there anyways. There's lots of land in the northeast section of the park near SkyScreamer that is currently full of storage, FrightFest stuff, and trees, which would work great for a signature ride. That area needs a bit more to complete its revitalization anyways. Totally agree SFStL needs a signature steel though. Freeze is great, but it is a clone after all. -
^I understand the reference, but I personally wouldn't consider a drop tower with a unique vertical-to-horizontal aspect the same as a standard vertical drop tower. Nor would I consider the experiences provided by Behemoth and Leviathan the same. A standard drop tower and a retrofitted WindSeeker would, as far as I know, have the exact same straight-up-and-down belly-dropping experience. Feel free to describe the difference in more detail, but otherwise I just don't see the point in converting these rides.
