I don’t remember those, but wasn’t there a gator show where Pandemonium is now? It was some other aquatic show before my time, I think mentioned a few pages ago. Can’t wait to see what all has changed when I go tomorrow! Do they still have the metal detector airport screening style entry? -

^THIS. The fact that I can come to this forum after all these years and there are still nerds like me posting DAILY about a park that doesn't make any headlines says a lot. EDIT: I think Theme Park Review deserves some credit here too. Thanks guys for providing a home for our nerdiness. -

^It would take new LIMs in both valleys to ensure enough speed and multiple passes to recover. I am sure there is someone willing to do the math, but it probably doesn’t work enough to make Six Flags make it happen. They’ll take the occasional valley and figure out operating limits like Boss... -

The POVs I have seen recently of The Boss have been painful to watch. As much as the original Boss kicked booty, I wouldn't be sad to see it modified at this point. We will see what I think after this weekend, but it never hurts to go in with low expectations! My expectation at this point is that it will be closed anyways... -

My husband and I have reservations for this weekend to get our season passes and ride a few rides while we are there. How have the crowds been? We are mostly going to get our passes set up so we can go to other parks we have never been to. Also to see my husbands family who lives nearby. We won’t be motivated to stay too long, but it’d be nice to hop on a few favorites. I haven’t ridden Boss since they modified it, but it might be too cold for it to get up and running anyways. Poor old thing needs some love! -

Am I missing something? All of those structural components can't just be for a sign. They certainly don't look like they are for a ride, what is it?! -

Did the old trains have a single lap bar and the new ones were that orange individual foam stuff? You all are sparking my memory. If the “old trains” were single bars then I totally rode it like that and it was wild, that was when my dad had to hold me in! Maybe the new trains are better for that “sense of security” younger riders enjoy. I’d hate for rides to be scaring potential coaster lovers as kids away. -

Just for the sake of nostalgia... Eagle was my first “big boy” coster as it was for my sister. My sister rode with a another kid her first time and got off crying and didn’t enjoy coasters ever since. My first ride my dad held me down ( I might have been an inch or two too short) and sat next to me. I was hooked from then on out. ^Nobody is too old or young to share! We are all here because we share similar interests in roller coasters and theme parks! -

I am quite upset I didn't get here early enough to share that video! You can see the modification when you ride if you look close, it is after the main turnaround (after the first drop). I am not old enough to have ever experienced the double up, and I was born in 1992! That said, I probably didn't ride eagle until I was about 6, if that gives any frame of reference for time. Regardless, yes, Eagle used to have a double up near the end of the course that has since been removed. vs -

Check my last sentence. Stop at any grocery store between the airport and the park and pick up a styrofoam cooler for a few bucks. The convenience is way worth avoiding unreliable service at the park. I guess it just depends on how "doable" you really want it to be. For me, insane markup on crappy park food and waiting 1+ hours for it is not doable. -

I have almost always brought a cooler with grapes/carrots/something like that and fixings to make sandwiches when I went to SFStL (and many other parks, for that matter). Leave the cooler in the car, throw some drinks in there and bring some snacks/chips and you're all set. A walk to the parking lot and eating picnic style under a tree takes the same or less time than eating in the park. It also takes less time than trying to drive somewhere and re-park. Saves a ton of money too! I think I am going to use this method on my park visits this year given the reports of lines and to keep the trips budget friendly. You can always buy a cheap styrofoam cooler to throw out if you are traveling by air and don't have a cooler that travels easily. -

Hmph. I guess it is a better location for Catwoman. Wish I could have gotten a last ride in though. Surely it is in good enough condition to be refurbished and moved somewhere again? Surely Six Flags needs the money enough to try to sell it instead of scrapping it... right? Right?! I am not holding my breath. -

^As a traffic engineer who has recently worked on multiple projects in Northwest Arkansas, I can attest to the insane (and generally higher income) population growth in the area. The growth rates for traffic projections are some of the highest in the country there! Walmart is building a whole new campus in Bentonville similar to what Amazon, Apple, and Google have (look it up, there is info online about it). Arvest Bank pops up frequently in sponsorships and advertisements around Kansas City, so I am not surprised to hear they have the smart business backing that comes with the Walmart family. I haven't been to SDC in a number of years, but they have made some incredible investments that make me really want to go back! Glad to hear TNT is getting love, I knew nothing about that ride when I first rode and it and knocked my socks off! -

Please PLEASE not an S&S space shot! S:TOP is one of the few drop towers that give me that insane freefall feeling that just isn't there on the S&S models. I totally agree they should replace it, but I want my stomach to churn just as much if not more waiting to fall at the top of that hillside! -

^I was thinking something more along the lines of donkeys to pull it up the side of the hill. That way there's NO debate it has been slowed down. It would fit the theme of the park perfectly! -

^I grew up in Columbia two hours from both WoF and SFStL and I always chose SFStL when presented with the option. Oceans of Fun is definitely more popular, and they have kept it up with exciting additions. Not adding coasters is one thing when you are investing in other things, but WoF's recent investments have given me zero excitement about going. Since their last coaster they have added: 2010: A light show and a Subway restaurant (eat fresh! $20 footlong!) 2011: Planet Snoopy (okay, family areas are a good investment... but not really that exciting for anyone who isn't a kid or doesn't have them) 2012: FastLane (literally... that's the addition for the year) 2013: OoF gets new slide complex, WoF gets Dinos Alive (happy 40th birthday!) 2014: SteelHawk (another good investment) 2015: Nothing notable... some stuff was removed 2016: More Planet Snoopy stuff (woo!) 2017: New front entrance and some (sucky) flat rides (the front entrance is nice...) 2018: Another (sucky) flat ride and Timber Wolf got neutered 2019: A new BBQ restaurant (a NEW RESTAURANT guys! come visit!!!!) 2020/2021: New ride for the water park So in over a decade they have made ONE investment in SteelHawk that was interesting enough for me to be like "oooh, I think I should go to WoF." The place is essentially the same as it was in 2009. Meanwhile during the same time period, SFStL has added (or is about to add) six interesting flat rides (SkyScreamer, Tsunami Soaker, Fireball, Spinsanity, Supergirl, and Catwoman Whip), a new coaster (okay it was a Boomerang but hey, it's at least a coaster), updated their dark ride, and managed to keep the water park updated. They continue to at least add rides that are newer within the industry and provide exciting experiences. As much as people say Six Flags doesn't care about SFStL, it seams like Cedar Fair has literally given up on WoF ever being a place people outside of Kansas City will ever bother spending their time going to. I don't want to sound like I don't like WoF, I have had many fun times there. However, they really need some investment if they want to pull any sort of crowds.
