  1. Some grammar would help here, then this post might be taken a bit more seriously... At the end of the day, whether or not a ride is economically feasible to operate will be the deciding factor on if it is closed or not; barring a legal reason.
  2. ^This place is only 3 hours from me, but I just checked their ticket prices and oof! Apparently they know they shouldn't be compared to Six Flags, a single day admission is as much as my season pass from SFStL at $50.
  3. Am I the only one who thinks Zamperla is a big miss? All of their rides feel like cheap versions of what they should be. Here's to hoping for something better... That said, S&S is typically a solid manufacturer and I couldn't care any less for their 4D coasters. To each their own...
  4. Maybe they can come up with a whole new color scheme while they're at it!
  5. ^Is this who SFFT is currently using? I was truly impressed at how every ride in the park had beautiful sparkling paint, and the only one that didn't (Poltergeist) is about to be repainted. If this means more of this kind of attention to detail chainwide this is great news!
  6. ^Are you kidding this is hot breaking Six Flags America action! https://patch.com/maryland/bowie/six-flags-ride-shuts-down-video-shows-structure-shaking-report Park PR confirmed the ride is closed for inspection. I am an engineer myself, and I can’t tell you how close this was to reaching a critical stress point because I don’t have any specific information about the ride. I don’t work for Zamperla! I can tell you that is not a normal amount of deflection expected in a typical ride cycle though, and if it were this ride wouldn’t last very long. Within a factor of safety? Sure. Comparing it to regular operating track sway on Xcelerator?.... No.
  7. ^My experience is only on Wonder Woman at SFFT, but I am 5’10” and 160, pretty average I think. I can see how shrugging would help while loading. The straps on WW just felt too tight and too sticky/rubbery for such an intense ride.
  8. Given the wood is more than likely treated I would hope it didn't gain much ground! I enjoy this perspective, does Stunt Pilot have the same restraints as the original raptors? I felt like the restraints were quite... constraining... and that they were made out of an uncomfortable rubber that "burnt" my shoulders.
  9. Welp. I came here to mention the new RMC track option for Shivering Timbers (can we call it ShTi?) trying to spice up the thread seeing it had posts in it finally, then I realized I had been beaten to the punchline by the ride itself. Maybe now is as good as time as ever to get that new RMC re-track!
  10. How about rounding it out with Adventureland then wrapping back to Kansas City? That is A LOT of driving, the Midwest is a lot bigger than it seems, and trying to do a park every day sounds exhausting just thinking about it. I just spent four days to drive from KC to TX to hit up SFOT and SFFT and it didn’t feel like enough time! Oof! Sorry you’re not flying into KC before our terrible airport is rebuilt... and also sorry you’re going to WoF... but hey you could get some legit BBQ while you’re here!
  11. It is definitely not a fake video. The guy who took it typically posts completely unrelated videos that haven’t previously gotten a lot of views (not to say his videos aren’t good). This one blew up and currently has 3.1 M views on TikTok. Regardless, he posted a version without sound where you can hear “We’re gonna get someone do not worry we are going to get you off” coming from the ride operator. I downloaded it and it is here for those who don’t have TT. The user who posted is big216teezy. Regardless, sounds like it should be an isolated issue. Still, doesn’t look great... IMG_1291.MP4
  12. ^That is almost more reason to believe it is NOT a backward motor. Six Flags has what, seven of these rides that have opened before SFA’s? You’d think they would have learned to check the motors by now, especially with the extra year. That type of deflection is not great for the structure and should definitely be addressed. It didn’t look too far off from hitting resonance and tearing itself apart.
  13. I can’t find video anywhere else, but this can’t be normal: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMdSWEfr5/ The structure of Harley Quinn is shaking quite violently... has anyone seen anything like this on any other Zamperla Doscoveries? This seems like something other than wind. Anyone at the park recently? This was posted on TikTok yesterday. IMG_1290.MP4
  14. They are saying the reduction in operating hours is due to a lack of staff: https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/worlds-of-fun-closed-tuesdays-wednesdays-through-june-due-to-labor-shortages
  15. Way less excited about riding Jersey Devil after getting a chance to ride Wonder Woman at SFFT... Judging by the POVs available on YouTube it appears to have the same restraints. I have never experienced “restraint complaint” until riding WW. Who decided super tight rubberized shoulder raping devices were the best option for these intense rides? I’d rather headbang than have it feel like rubber erasers are being feverishly rubbed against my shoulders the whole ride. Shame, WW was my most anticipated coaster and now I don’t even care about riding Jersey Devil when I visit. Shorter lines for me on everything else while people wait, I guess?
  16. That was him! He seemed very interested in the guest experience in the best way. What a guy!
  17. ^The darker green looks better, and yes we got a ride in! It was one of my husband’s favorites of the trip. There was a very friendly and only somewhat official looking Six Flags gentleman outside Polty when we were exiting, could this have been the famous Mr. Siebert?! We will be back again tomorrow.
  18. I was at the park this afternoon, full report to come. However, was the green paint on Poltergeist noted previously? Looks like they might be going for a repaint soon:
  19. Hahahahahahaha this is just hilarious. Hey WoF, I do smile when I picture myself at SFStL! Joke’s on you!
  20. Thanks, wow! That is a lot more than I was picturing. If it is anything like most of the overflow queues at SFStL it's a good riddance.
  21. NO comments on Boss? While I certainly appreciate this report, I am going to have to issue a warning for this lapse of judgement. Thanks for posting! I haven't seen any of the new lighting yet so you have reminded me I have a reason to return!
  22. This this this! Sheikra might be the least amount of Gs (maybe) but it is way more "scary" to me than any of the rides at BGT. It essentially simulates being dangled over the edge of a cliff and then dropped as if the person dangling you lost grip. It is extremely thrilling for me, and I love the adrenaline involved. HOWEVER, Montu and Kumba are both more "traditional" rides. Kumba is sit-down so it is most traditional. It might technically pull the most G forces, but it feels the most familiar. I would not recommend starting with Skeikra.
  23. Remember when we all thought theme parks might be doomed by COVID? It is fantastic to see all the people flocking back to parks like Kings Island. Great reports all, thank you!
  24. What did this area look like before for us unfamiliar folk? Just switchback queue on the bottom right?
