I haven’t been on a single B&M I thought was worse than the best Schwarzkopf I have been on. I guess I’m proving a point that it’s the nostalgia folk saying they were great. If they were so great they’d still exist ala Vekoma and they’d be making actual modern rides. Your mention of Shock Wave makes me laugh because I thought it was a total piece of crap waste of space. Mind bender at SFoG was better in my opinion but neither hold up to anything newer in their parks. It’s great to invest in them as SFoG and apparently Knotts are doing, an old ride is better than no ride. I’d still prefer most modern rides in their places though.

You mentioned three, what percentage are they batting these days? There are some great ones left, I will give you that.

It’s a nostalgia thing for old people, most of their rides are terrible among today’s coasters.

^One would hope they are indeed completely dismantling, sandblasting, and rebuilding it. That would signal a long term investment that should be praised!

@WOF_Fan I am curious as to where that second screenshot was found. I can find all sorts of legitimate things about "Project 50 Grading" HERE but nothing including the text in your second image. Next year is their 50th anniversary, but I need receipts.

Bonzai was added 10 years ago in 2012. It is younger than Boomerang added a year later in 2013 (SFOT relocation).

At this point the property owner is waiting for the right economy to close the park. Once it makes more economic sense for redevelopment the park will close. That could be never and the land could be resold if we hit (or the region hits) a major recession. This is America, whatever makes the owner the most money will be the decision taken...

WoF just got a Mamba system upgrade we're all good for 15 years! Really sad news any time a major park announces a closure to be serious, though. Anyone think the pandemic had anything to do with it? I have read some grim things about the region's economy recently.

Nice report! Shame FoF is so rough, I really enjoyed Poltergeist and imagined if it was done in the complete darkness it could be a lot of fun. Does anyone know if the one at KD has the same issue? Orion's lift looks so pretty at night. Do they have lights on in the back wooded section of Orion or is there just enough ambient lighting for it to not have "dark" night rides?

Well clearly Tom's Twister is the old flat at SFStL that I completely confused with Cyclone Sam's! Both tornado themed, totally different rides at different parks. @slickpoetry I meant Cyclone Sam's!!!!!

Patriot, Mamba, Timber Wolf, Prowler, Spinning Dragons, Boomerang. In that order. Timber Wolf has a history of being rough but it has been greatly improved since they removed the helix. Prowler will beat the sh!t out of you and will definitely make you wish you hadn't ridden (unpopular opinion, ride at your own risk, you have been warned!). WoF has the best secret weapon flat with Tom's Twister. Make it your priority to ride it no matter what! I would rank it higher than Prowler myself (unpopular opinion there, but people do like Tom's Twister). I would recommend not looking anything up about it and just letting yourself be wowed.
