Favorite Standalone Haunts?
RCFreak replied to Stephen G's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Living in Southern California, the biggies and (arguably) best are at the theme parks, but I loved http://sinisterpointe.com/ in Brea when I did it two years ago with their "FEAR" and "Silent Hill" mazes (they took last year off to do the Queen Mary Dark Harbor Event) and this year have a new permanent location. I'm REALLY hoping to make it to this year as it's being described as more of a "choose your own adventure" type of interactive maze with different paths to go through. And speaking of Jeff Schiefelbein and his Sinister Pointe team, They actually made an actual attraction this year for them in addition to the flashlight tour. -
Went to the park on Monday and got a few pics of the stuff (there are way better updates out there if you want to go look at them, this is the cliff notes haha) "It's the most wonderful time of the yeeeeeeeear!" Went to Check out Ghost Galaxy agaian (I really wish they would change it up a bit or add more to it, but I <3 it so!) and I got this, WTF? For Captain Eo? Really? Another one that I wish they would change a bit more, I also failed to see the Monkey Bride in the attic this year! You can see the Carthay Circle Theater was topped off.in The back, Totally different dynamic to the front entrance. Closer pic of the Theater/ restaurant being worked on. Another angle, Disney nerds jizzing blah blah blah *Squirt*. Bye Bye Engine-Ears Toys. Holy Shit Carsland looks AMAZING! That's what $400+ million gets you. Something still missing.

I'm not the least bit surprised by this as it was clearly inevitable that CGA was never really in the "master plan" for Cedar Fair's long term growth. And I'm curious if this will have effect on Gilroy Gardens, or if that's completely separate from CGA now? This is an interesting article that says the 49ers owners are part of the financers with JMA Ventures and a little bit more about the company. I wouldn't say bye bye Great America, but I might be saying hello to 49ers land!

Anaheim Gay Days at DCA & DL
RCFreak replied to WFChris's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm probably going, but I just go to the parks to hang out (and get drunk, it's my Birthday weekend buy me a shot!) I usually don't do any of the other extra curricular activities (Wonderland Friday, Kingdom Saturday, the Pool Party Sunday, etc...) or the specific meets or do pictures, cause usually I'm not around when they happen! I did do the eye-spy thing (put on by MiceChat and FREE) last year and it's fun to do, especially if you go as often as I do. There's really no advice to be had, they have their events scheduled, but it's not like you have to go to every one unless you want to, the parks will be crowded (but not SUPER crowded like a few years ago when it was a combination of Gay Days AND Columbus Day weekend. That was a friggin' nightmare.), so remember to utilize fastpass and try and get there early. -
^Not only is it regional, It's also dependent on chain (Busch calls them all "Houses," Cedar Fair's Halloween Haunt events use "Mazes" Cedar Point uses "Mazes for the scare zones, and "houses for the actual attractions Universal Orlando uses "Houses" and Universal Hollywood uses "Mazes"). I think you're not going to go wrong if you use either name.

THIS! And Wolfman will have the shortest line later in the evening. Last year on opening night, ALL of the mazes had at least 1 hour wait while “Vampyre: Castle of the Undead” was only like 5 minutes. The house is getting stale as it really can't be changed that much since it's open year round. The value of this night is great with everything included. My only problem is money and I work on Saturdays! -

^It's the web address youtube now uses in the "share" button, copy the link from the top of your web browser instead and use the youtube code in your response and it should work. I had that same issue yesterday. -
