  1. Nice TR so far, but one suggestion I have would be to be more selective about which pictures you end up posting. A lot of your pics are slightly unnecessary (and blurry!) And you really don't need to try and post every single picture you are taking to try and get a good story across. More pictures don't always mean a better PTR! Can't wait to see more of your trip.
  2. Hate to break it to you, but it says participants, not applicants, meaning both members of the team MUST be over the age of 21 at the time of submitting the application. Which means on or before "June 30, 2009 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time." I wish I could do this, but I already now I'm not the "type" of person they would ultimately choose. Still I'll probably look for a partner in this and still apply lol.
  3. While the train on the 4D coasters does face outward, theseats are spun so that the G forces are on the riders back and butt during the inversion. Exellent concept if not a bit flawed, mostly for the extreme forces you would be placing on riders with some of those inversions, but it could be used very well and actually designed out to provide a comfotable yet thriling ride (I especially liked the helix with retracted the riders while flying close to a wall only to throw them out again as soon as clearence allowed. This also reminds me of another concept for a coaster that used a second rail below the ride to lift, drop and tilt the coaster car while on the ride. Anyone else remember it? The Cantilevered Coaster.
  4. Six Flags might be making a profit from the lockers, but Six Flags has to pay for the lockers, and the locker manufacture is most likely taking a slice of whatever locker profit from every set of lockers it has out. Who knows what the locker deal they have with SmartCarte. I don't think the lockers are a big deal. I agree with everyone saying that the lockers at Six Flags are only being complained about because it's Six Flags. I had no problem with the lockers at Cedar Fair parks or the lockers at any Busch parks before Six Flags went the locker route. of course I usually don't need a locker at any park since I always have my handy dandy cargo shorts with me. In conclusion, lockers.
  5. Canon also now makes an underwater point and shoot (the Canon Powershot D10)
  6. From everything I've read, the 1.1 Billion is not all going to be used for this first phase (everything leading up to Carsland) and that it's being capped at around 700 million (could be wrong here) with about 400 million going to Carsland itself. It's been said Lasseter wants to spare no expense for Carsland so that's my guess as to where the budget is going.
  7. So you can't get their mailing addresses so you can at least send letters and plan to see them in person again? I'm going to have to agree with Wes' last post, seems to be a cry for attention.
  8. I don't get it, Maybe it's just me, but I could clearly hear him say "you're" why are people say he says "you"? Is this one of those fun racist things that because "black" people don't enunciate there words like the white man people automatically assume they are speaking Ebonics? lol yes the above post was sarcasm. but seriously I hear the "'re" at the end in the video when I was there AND in the video Robb posted...
  9. And it's not like they don't give you a free pass to the water park with the purchase of a season pass anyway. I can see the point you are trying to make, but it doesn't hold up, people will figure it out that the ride is with HH when HH is open and might be open during the winter for SFMM only. That's if they even go that option.
  10. Couple of things. First of all, no it's not one of the last great Prime Real estates in the park as really the only thing that could go there would be either something thrilling for Hurricane Harbor, or something tame for Magic Mountain. Wasn't Flashback closed a lot of the time during the summer (mostly for maintenace I'm sure) but used also as a scapegoat for screams distracting the life guards? If there is truth to that there goes anything that could really be big for the Magic Mountain side (and Management has already said they would like to use that area for a HH expansion if they could) There is nothing like Deluge in the area so it would mostly a completely new type of ride to the majority of HH AND SFMM clientele. Very easily marketing for the ride. I think the closest "water coaster" would be the Master Blaster at Roseville Golfland Sunsplash about 340 miles north of Valencia. So there's "The tallest fastest scariest and only water coaster in Southern California!" And they would "waste money" to ride it again, because from everything I've seen and heard about the ride says it's really fun and could easily be re-ridable. And by making sure you can only ride the thing at HH during the summer, it would get people to pay to go ride it (who heard from a friend who rode it during winter that said it was amazing blah blah insert other word of mouth story here). And lastly, people still ride Logjammer, Jetstream, and Sierra Falls and yes they are all water rides and all usually open during the winter months (Baring rehabs of course)
  11. Close, The Halcyon Production company acquired all future Terminator rights (meaning the first two films and the Universal ride are off limits to them basically) but any future Terminator rights would have to go through them. Warner Brothers has the exclusive North American distribution rights for the films (Coulumbia holding the international distribution rights), but Warner Brothers has nothing to to do with Six Flags and Terminator Salvation: The Ride, although I'm sure the Warner Bro and Six Flags relationship didn't hurt.
  12. Dude those first few shots of the Dairy parlor brought back tons of memeories when I worked at the park during Halloweekends. When those of us still in the dorms but not in school, were bored we would usually head off toward somerandom destination and usually end it with some Toft's. Also, one of the rides I worked on was indeed Paddlewheel so THANK YOU for showing some of that. I miss speileing and almost dying driving into the rocks. Oh man learning to drive those boasts was a pain! lol they are not on tracks unlike some other parks so it takes talent and skill to drive the boat, spiel and act (well, those of us who were actually any good...)
  13. I'm going to say yes, a burger joint is BOUND to have chicken strips! Although it looks good, I don't think I'll ever eat there as if I'm at the Miracle Mile Shops I'm going to Earl of Sandwhich!!
  14. hahaha totally missed the "terminate yourself" screen and the fact that the Terminators in the last pre-show actually moved lol.
  15. Awesome pictures, I especially liked Manta cam lol, looks like a great ride.
  16. ^^ everyone just ended up winning (and still no people at the park it seemed!) ^ Let's hope they don't make us wait for every single pre-show during ERT lol.
  17. uh yeah, no, his favorite woodie at SFMM is Colossus? His opinion has been stricken from my memory lol. Terminator is hands down the best woodie in Southern California right now, sure I would have loved something a little bigger and a little longer, but what GCI delivers is solid. Add in Six Flags best attempt at theming so far (I believe it is at least) and you have a solid attraction that a lot of people can ride.
  18. ^What an incredibly sad life you must lead.
  19. Not exactly a musical (but close enough), but did anyone catch the Pilot for Glee on Fox? It's on www.Hulu.com if you want to catch it, and it's like High School Musical, but funny... and not as cheesey... and not Disney HA! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERA2sUpeKKE For fans of Broawdway the upcoming Fall season for the show has a ton of Broadway guest stars coming on, and they'll release a few of the songs from the episode on iTunes (Sumofabetch I hate Apple!) after the show airs. And one of the stars Lea Michele originated the role of Wendela in Spring Awakening (Which I saw her in New York two years ago before meeting up in Spain with some crazy people to ride roller coasters). Plus it has Jane Lynch! I love that women.
  20. ^^^ Dude, Robb just posted that on the last page... Um I don't know if it's juts me or not, but man I hate the nickname "Termmy" for this ride.
  21. Like I said, won't get there before 6:30 so I'll see people at 7:30! Man this is so exciting, I'm actually going to do something this week besides dying!
  22. I highly doubt it will be for tomorrow as Media day is in the morning and the radio staions have at it at after that. Edit: There you go.
  23. Yes, but not by much as many people will not be working on Monday so Sunday has the same potential to be as busy as Saturday. Basically this wholewekends is going to suck lol.
  24. Since apple sucks, here's the Amazon link to the soundtrack lol.
