  1. Yes, the tickets will be good for any stateside Six Flags theme parks (not including the seperate entry water parks) and will be valid until Sunday, August 16, 2009
  2. ^What happened last time?
  3. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44192 Dave's TR from a while ago is another great thread you may want to check out.
  4. ^If you haven't yet seen the video's posted, Steven Davison says, "That gives way to a drum sequence that leads to the Chernabog. That's another kind of great illusion that we're going to create. The Chernabog's created completely out of water, as a projection piece." at 0:52-1:00 in the third video, so no solid Chernabog despite what rumors have been saying. I'm pretty sure there will be no solid pieces used in this incarnation of WoC and it's all going to be water, fire and projections.
  5. And I thank you for not reading at least one page back as it was just posted on the last page (same videos from the same user too) Still impressive show to say the least.
  6. ^A ridiculously easy Google search turned up the main site http://www.ocfair.com/2009/ which says the fair runs untill August 9 closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  7. My buddy Joe (Hi Joe!) had an interview in Vegas yesterday, so I decided to head out and hang out with him for the day. Crazy random shenanigans resulted. This trip was very last minute on my part and originally I wasn't going to do a TR at all, but I started taking pictures on my phone and had enough for this small TR. I hope you enjoy! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=0715091547_1284[/coastertube] Why yes, yes I will thank you. This is the las pic I took asmy phone was starting to die and I was kinda really drunk. If you haven't watched the video above, I think you should HA! And what better to wash it down with then a yard of mango and Bacardi 151. Also to note this was my second Yard of the day (the first being a Margarita with an extra shot of tequilla!) A little on the expensive side, but i think it's worth it and the Planet Hollywood loacation is now open 24 hours a day. My Staple, the Hawiian BBQ Mmmmm Earl of Sandwhich! The Cosmopolitan or Denzian, or whatever the crap Hilton names it. Fungus Fountain, this was made up of fungus and bark, it was really tall too. B is for bellagio! Non working Ferris Wheel. Fountains are fun in most forms. Dare you to lick it! That's what he said last night. Stupid giant metal Flower ruining a great picture. They stole a Kraken baby! They always have the best displays of floral arrangements. The Bellagio Conservatory has Lorikeets! Male bits for those who like them. Female bits for those who like them. Yup, Bacon Mints, worse then you are probably imagining right now. Just watch the video, it's the new beverly! Went into FAO Shwartz for the first time and found the most amazing thing ever! We've been both to vegas many times, so we just wandered around trying to see new things to see. This was in the Palms. I'm sure there's a Joey joke in there somewhere. While Joe was rocking his interview, I went shopping at the Outlet center nearby and found this nice hat for $10 Don't feel like getting Donkey punched by the coaster, let's leave that to the fun later on. Nifty little panorama feature on my phone. This end of the strip is way better then the other end. (LOOK HOOTERS!) This would be the view a $51 NY NY Hotel room looks like.
  8. The one with Ice Bat playing Jesus! lol I'm a fan of 8, 6, and 4, not necessarily in that order lol. Looks like you guys are having a blast, hope the rest of the trip will go well.
  9. *COUGH**COUGH**HACK**HACK*COUGH**COUGH*
  10. The only B&M Hyper I've been on would be Nitro, and I've been on MF and Expedition GeForce, and Intamin wins hand down, I don't like MF as I think it's boring besides the first drop, but Expedition GeForce hands down blew Nitro out of the water.
  11. The only fail I see in this thread are some of the people who are posting, good lord what makes this ride an automatic failure!? Because it doesn't do what you want it to as opposed to doing what the people actually paying for the ride want it too? If they wanted a higher capacity ride they would have went with the company that would have gave them a higher capacity, or like Powder Keg, they could have went with full multi-car trains. And obviously they (meaning the RACE TRACK, NOT AMUSEMENT PARK) didn't want more track or it would have it. Unless you are paying for it, their shouldn't be the level of criticism that some of you are displaying. It's one thing to express disappointment, it's quite another to call it failure when it hasn't even been open a week! Let's see how this does on an actual race day and see if it'll hold up, and if the lines will be supremely massive and people complain and want their money back since it's so short and doesn't go 500' in the air or have 12 inversions (for reference, indeed my eyes are rolling at this point). This is S&S's fourth launch coaster correct? Aside from the problem's Hypersonic XLC had (which is the same situation as Intamin and Xcelerator with the actual prototype system that was used at the factory became a part of the ride), do the other two systems face a lot of down time? I would assume that S&S has learned quite a bit since then as has Intamin with their Hydraulic and Premier with their LIMs. Either way I'll wait a few months to see how this thing is doing to determine whether it is a failure or not. Another thing is this isn't the only coaster S&S has made this year, it also has Tranan and Mumbo Jumbo so it's not like this is the last chance for S&S and the company will go belly up if this coaster has a few issues. I'm sure they are also busy with all the support they are doing for all the Arrow rides out their already, plus any future coasters in the works.
  12. AHAHAHAHA Now this is how you start a great marriage!
  13. ^There is also something called Lightscribe that burns the image using the same drive that you burn the CD in and special disks. Not sure if it's what Robb uses, but there are lightscribe replcators out there so it's very possible, it would also save on ink and the chance of screwing up a perfectly good playable disk with a sticker-type label.
  14. Nice to see a TR from here, Sea World was the only park I didn't get to when I was out that way in 2006 (plus it wasn't that big of a draw with just Corkscrew when I had Superman to get too!) and it looks like fun, plus i really want to ride Jet Rescue!
  15. ^^Absolutely not, if parking is not included and you already have parking it's not like they will turn you away from the booths if you don't pay.
  16. Speed is a lot of fun. Before heading over though, try checking one of the tix4tonight locations as I know before Speed went down a while back it frequently was there for half price all day tickets (it was $10 which was the price of one ride last time I rode it). No clue if it'll be there now so soon after it reopened or since it's such a "prime" tourist season, but it can't hurt to check real quick. As for The Roller Coaster, you can handle quite the beating when you are younger (you would have been around 12, I'm sure it was butter smooth lol) it hurts plain and simple, the newer Premier trains didn't stop any of the head bashing, they just have softer padding around your head to slam into. I wouldn't invest into an all day pass for this one.
  17. There's an extremely good reason for that besides the joke answer of "it's Cedar Fair." I really like the colors on this.
  18. Couple of things I want to point out, the movie has made $350 million worldwide so far, kinda lackluster stateside with only about $122 Million but that's not the point really the movie was $200 million or so to make so The Halcyon Company (the company who actually owns the rights to all things terminator after the third movie and who SF would be paying royalties too if that was the deal) and all the companies involved with the movie will most likely make a small profit. I'm sure the rest of the planned trilogy (Yes there will be two more movies to get through and to keep interest in the ride going) will get made keeping the ride semi-relevant for quite a few more years. And it's too early to guess how long the license is good for, and how long SF will remain in debt after the restructure going on now with the bankruptcy. ^Most of the time in these situations, Six Flags would most likely pay a certain amount of money to use the right to the names and images each year, how much and for how long are up to the two companies when they make their contract.
  19. What I remember reading was the Brea maze is completely seperate endevour. The guy basically did it all himself and just borrowed the name and likeness but had no help from Lionsgate. On the flipside however, Lionsgate would get nothing, profit wise, from the maze. I'm more intrested if it's coming back this year or if Lionsgate would stop him this year with Universal taking a stab (or bear trap) at the franchise.
  20. ANNNNNNNND for the THIRD time this thread.
  21. I think anywone who's actually talked to you would realize that. Good luck if you do! This would be last year's winner "The Prank" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YnXu3n7GWQ There are a cople more of the top 10 finalists in the related videos as well.
  22. There were a couple of really good scary short films from last year's contest, so I'm excited to see what sick twisted things people think of this year!
  23. Yeah, no, the pre-show will be around for a long time, there's not really much that can't be easily replaced (speakers, TVs and lights) really the only thing is maybe the Terminators in the last room might not sway anymore, but it wouldn't be detrimental to the per-show itself. And I just have to look at X2 to see they still have the fire and audio on the trains going (most of the time) to see that they'll at least try to keep it running for a few more seasons.
  24. As with most shows, the station a show airs on has little to do with who actually makes the show including filming locations. Most of the time, a pilot is filmed and shopped around to different stations hoping to get picked up. I'm sure it was just Knott's offering the cheapest filming option to the production company at the time.
