How much Faster/Taller can we get?
coastermaniac replied to Sir Coaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ I agree. Building a ride taller and faster than Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka AND having a layout...would just get way to expensive. Also, with Cedar Point being as land-locked as it is I doubt they'd be able to add on a layout to TTD. -
That park looks interesting. I plan on visiting at least one park outside the US before I die!!

Biggest Disappointment of 2010?
coastermaniac replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Planet Snoopy at King's Island. I know I'm not a kid anymore but living close enough to Cedar Point going there all the time and seeing Snoopy gets annoying. So when I used to go to KI it was a change to see the Nickelodean theming to the park. Now that they have the Snoopy characters...ugh. -

^^ I agree. -
If you could combine any 5 coasters into 1 park, what would they be? It doesn't necessarily have to be your top 5 coasters. Also, what would you name the park?

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Even though I never got a chance to ride I-305 last year, I'm sure it'll be better this year without the trims. -
Suprising Soakings
coastermaniac replied to Kingsislandfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On lazy rivers they have those overhead water container things that collect water and you can dump them on people as they pass/float by. Yeah, when I'm just laying in my donut then I get soaked without notice beforehand. -

I just came across this and now I miss my RCT2 game...like a lot. Now I may have to start playing it again. -

It's an alright show; I never really got into it. I like some of the songs and listen to them on YouTube but I'm not addicted (unlike many other people).

I don't really have a favorite but one really good one is Footloose. I actually just saw Fame at my old high school and it was relatively good.

Video games are over-rated. I'm just joshin' but yeah, I used to play them but then I kind of just lost interest in them.

It depends; in school sometimes, on a bf/gf...never. Have you ever jumped out of an airplane?

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
coastermaniac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For some reason, I really enjoy the Spongebob 3D show. I think that's just because I really am sick of the Peanuts gang; I really enjoyed the Nickelodean theme at KI...even though I'm not a kid anymore. So I hope it will return this year. As for SoB, I really wish they'd open it back up in the next few years; I rode it back in 2007 and really enjoyed it. -

How much Faster/Taller can we get?
coastermaniac replied to Sir Coaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think we are able to go taller and faster but I think, as many have already said, it's more or less just about cost. Sure we could build coasters taller and faster than TTD and KK but honestly what park has the money to spend for something like that. A chain lift hill might be cheaper to build than a launch but still, it'd probably get expensive quick. Also if it were a launch the amount of G's would be a lot, maybe too many for a person to physically handle. -
Kind of. Just more so articles that talk about why engineering safety is so important.
