  1. I like the slowly-ness of the lift as well. I'm indifferent about the speakers; I guess I'm just used to them.
  2. You must only go to terrible parks. He's got a point.
  3. ^ Front row taken off? Like completely removed?
  4. This. I just don't think rewarding the parks monetarily for slow operations is always the best idea. It all depends on how the system is implemented, though. If q-bots are only sold when the park reaches a certain capacity, then I'd be for it, but when I visited SFNE a couple years ago there was almost nobody there and they were frantically trying to sell me a gold q-bot at the front gate. If I hadn't been astute, I could have easily wasted money on an unnecessary convenience. Also, if I'm in park management and I know I get more sales if lines are longer, and it costs more in wear and tear to run two trains than one, why should I run two trains on every coaster on a weekday? It saves me maintenance costs and makes lines longer, leading to more q-bot sales to only run one train. Sounds good to the people who buy q-bots, huh? To those of us who barely have enough money to pay $10 to park and $50 to get in the front gate, let alone $3 for a drink and $10 for a hamburger, the added lines just don't seem worth it to me. I agree 100%. I don't have the extra money to spend for the q-bot after already paying for the more necessary things.
  5. Personally, I'm not a fan of them adding this to any ride at neither KI nor CP. Like mentioned, X-Fli...Firehawk and Invertigo have low capacity and therefore the lines take forever. If they added a fastpass to these rides (and to others as well), do you know how long the line would take for everyone else? It would be super annoying. Same deal with CP; many of the coasters can have a long line already because of crowded days so it takes a while to get through. I'm a regular at CP and therefore wouldn't pay extra for the fastpass; so the lines taking longer than they should due to other people being able to cut the lines would be annoying.
  6. I just watched all 3 Pirates of Surburbia films for the first time. They are quite excellent; very nice work.
  7. Those pictures are really hurtful to see. Where'd you get them?
  8. Without even comparing the two (since I've never been on KD's FoF), KI's FoF isn't the best coaster; kinda rough. What is the "Walk on Wednesday"?
  9. I've ridden Mean Streak many times this season and have only noticed the one car (mainly yellow). I guess I just haven't been looking hard enough to see any more.
  10. So I guess Dorney Park is out. It seems that Michigan's Adventure would be next in line to be out. From where I live, Kings Island is the closest and Kings Dominion is the farthest. Even though I wouldn't mind going to Kings Island just because it's closer, it seems as though Kings Dominion would be a better place to go because of their collection of rides. Comparing each other, how much better is KD than KI? And is it really THAT much better than KI that we'd spend 8 hours driving vs. 4? I mean, they both have a Backlot coaster AND FoF...as well as Rebel Yell is pretty similar to Racer and Anaconda is comparable to Vortex...
  11. ^ We have platinum passes. How good are the coasters at Kings Dominion?
  12. It makes sense that the car is sitting to the right of the building, because the red building is 'behind' that building in the picture.
  13. ^ Right in front of DL's station? There really wasn't anything across from the station; it was mainly open space.
  14. My family lives in Cleveland, Ohio and we're trying to figure out which park is the best to go to for a vacation. We've narrowed it down and the choices are Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Michigan's Adventure, and Dorney Park. We've looked at all the rides each one has and how long it would take to get to each one (mileage). I could use some TPR input on which would be the best. Which park is worth taking the time to go to of these four? "Note: We've already been to Kings Island but not any of the others; however we are still considering KI.
  15. ^ That would actually make sense because the building behind it looks familiar, like from the park.
  16. I've only seen one Double Loop car in Mean Streak's infield.
  17. If I had to choose, I would have to go with floorless because personally they just look cooler. Also, since I've never been on a 'floored' B&M and the fact that one of my favorite coasters is a floorless I'd slide toward floorless.
  18. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/06/Double_Loop_coaster_car.jpg/300px-Double_Loop_coaster_car.jpg It's a coaster car from The Double Loop. It looks like it is on display or something. Can anyone confirm where this might be at? I came across the photo randomly and have been wondering about it. **Note: I didn't know where else to post this.
  19. Geauga Lake (I know it's not a 'ride' but the park in general), even though it really wasn't that shocking after Cedar Fair bought it. I grew up going to that park. Even though I am currently only 19 so I know there are people much older than me who went there years before I was even born, I still made memories there with my friends and family. It was a great park and Cedar Fair should have never even touched the place.
  20. I was at the park yesterday and it seemed that they were doing a great job with Millennium and Dragster getting those trains in and out as quickly as possible. Other days, with Dragster especially, it seemed like they were taking their good ol' time getting the trains out. Usually with Raptor, they do a good job at getting their trains out as fast as they could; like right after a train would clear the brakes at mid-way they'd send the next train out of the station. However, I've noticed this year they've typically not been sending out a train from the station until the previous train is almost or even at the last helix. I guess the cause is a combination of the workers and the GP (cause we TPR enthusiasts know to be quick).
  21. It does seem that Magnum's capacity is always the best for some reason; they always manage to get those trains in and out so fast.
  22. A wooden coaster along the beach would be an excellent idea.
  23. Almost every coaster at CP, I always find myself saying how great they are as I'm getting off of them. The few times I get off Maverick (I rarely ride it) I'm always shaking my head asking myself why I rode it. That's it for what else I have to say about that rapture.
  24. I don't find Magnum rough at all. However, Maverick is so over-rated. There's too much whiplash and it's just not a fun coaster. The only good part is the lauch in the tunnel but they have to use trim brakes right after it so that makes it pointless just like Formula Rossa. Some people like the sharp twists and turns, but I'm not a fan...at least how Maverick uses them. They are just too quick; if they were a little less forceful they'd be more enjoyable. It seems like Cedar Point tried too hard.
  25. Even to this day, Maverick still makes me go: "wow...this is crap!" Anyways, I think a floorless would be a nice addition to the park. I could easily picture people being stunned by it...as long as they can do it right.
