  1. I'm actually going to be at CP BOTH of those days you mentioned, with two different groups of people! Based on what I'm reading regarding crowds this week, which are abnormal, based on 30+ years of going to CP weekdays in May, I think we're simply seeing an incredible uptick in attendance due to the hype Valravn has generated. As such, it would appear neither day will supply me the 15-30 minutes tops waits I'm used to this time of year... However, having said that, I think next Tuesday will be the much nicer day to go, if you are choosing between the two. It'll be highs in the low 60's Thursday, while highs will be in the mid 70's Thursday. Additionally, there won't be the Physics Week mobs then either, and from a lengthy search of school calendars in Ohio, it would appear Tuesday will be one of the last couple days of school for most local school districts, meaning it's less likely kids will be skipping school those days. So, long story short, I think if I had to choose between the two (rather than being there both days), I would definitely go with next Tuesday the 24th!
  2. On the bright side, at least you'll get done with college sooner (hopefully!) I'll never get to ride Drachen Fire or Big Bad Wolf again...
  3. To make it worse, they decided to restrict it to only children under 54 inches, unless you are accompanying a child, resulting in hundreds of devastated coaster enthusiasts who can no longer credit-whore it! Due to working nights, I have to stay up over 24 hours straight at least once a week.
  4. Heard this one while at karaoke last night! Surveys find that 9 out out 10 men prefer women with curves. The other man prefers the other 9 men!
  5. Saw a few great, lesser known bands in a tiny and intimate local venue a month or so ago! The headliners were "Mike Mains & the Branches," and "Seabird." Awesome show!
  6. I've got tickets for this Sold Out concert in a little over two weeks! VanAndel Arena, Grand Rapids
  7. Yes, contrary to our dear friend Guy, #Idothinkitwilleventuallyopen! In Pirates of the Caribbean, do you think Orlando Bloom is a slightly less manly version of Keira Knightley?
  8. Obviously, it depends on the religion, but for my religion, personally: 10/10 Dragon's Milk (The Beer)
  9. Granted, but they're the wrong kind of friends, and they lead you down a dark path that results in you spending 20 years in a federal pound me in the *** prison. I wish I could sleep with Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Marisa Tomei (Aunt May) from Captain America: Civil War at least once, each.
  10. Barnstormer - Magic Kingdom
  11. S: Superman: The Movie
  12. I didn't take a picture of it, but I had this delectable Imperial Stout last night! Dark Horse Brewing (Marshall MI) Plead the 5th Imperial Stout. BTW, I've had that Saugatuck Brewing Blueberry Maple Stout as well, and agree, it's quite unique! Different, but tasty!
  13. My last park was Cedar Point, and my next two park visits are ALSO CP! I'm looking forward to my first trip to Kentucky Kingdom after that, however, in early June!
  14. This is really no different than what most others are saying, but to me Skyrush's airtime is more intense, and El Toro's is more sustained, and plentiful. I prefer El Toro to Skyrush personally, but they are both fantastic coasters!
  15. I'm a long-time CP vet, and have a pass, so I'm not overly concerned about it... I plan most of my trips for early in the season, and late, to avoid the Summer crowds, but it is what it is. I just really want to get a few more rides in on Valravn, since I've only ridden it once so far, but don't feel it's worth waiting in a line longer than about 45 minutes for. So, my hope is for shorter lines for it during this week and next (when I'll be returning with a different group of friends on Tuesday.) If they're not though, hey, it just means lines for other rides in the park are shorter, which is fine by me too!
  16. I'll be at the park Thursday, and I was a little worried that the Physics week crowds might spoil the otherwise prime time for riding. Hopefully, most schools got it out of their system Monday! I've noticed Mondays usually are busier than Tuesday through Wednesday anyway, so here's hoping we get some of those trademark mid-week May CP crowds!
  17. pshhhh....i wore my michigan gear. got quite the banter from the students GO BLUE!!!! I saw a few of you brave souls! Well done! I applaud you! (Even if you're NOT the defending B1G Champions... )
  18. This. I just hope that CP realizes that they have one on Valravn and start using it. I know it's all about the fast dispatches for a new ride, but you HAVE to hold people up there for at least 5-10 seconds in order to get that 'Oh crap" feeling! 5-10 seconds??? Why would do they need to be held there for so long?? Most (if not all) Dive Machines only hold for 4 seconds, yet it seems like an eternity. I really don't see the need to be held up there for much longer than that. I don't think that question was meant to be interpreted that literally. Plus, what do you think the purpose of holding riders at the top of the lift for a long time is? You are right...and thank you for understanding my perspective. Personally, I think it would be awesome if they changed the holding all of the time. One train waits 2 seconds, one just dives, one waits about 10 seconds and then to really freak people out, hold them there for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to get them wondering if the coaster broke down! I'm loving this idea! I always think the anticipation of a drop, is almost the best part of it!
  19. I know, it's crazy how different people have different opinions, right?
  20. now try the front seat at night.... about 10x better than the back! I'll throw another into the mix here, and add that getting to finish the night with back to back rides there without getting up, is even better!
  21. ^It won't be as bad as it will get shortly thereafter! Most (if not all) Ohio schools will be out by then, so you'll have a lot of extra local kids compared to May. However, that is the last week of school for many Michigan schools, which is where the next largest contingent of attendees typically come from. So, you won't have the full-on crowds yet that week. That's pretty much the last chance for that, however, until the end of August, beginning of September! If you can go even earlier, like during the last week of May, I would recommend that even more!
  22. I'm one of the most unabashed B&M fans, and defenders, but even I involuntarily laughed when I read "ultra intense... coaster" there, regarding a B&M!
  23. One of the most shocking things in the world to me (and believe me, I find many things horrifically shocking these days!), is trying to comprehend how it is many of my "enthusiast" friends can refer to MF as "Forceless", in good conscience! I mean, the FACT that it exerts tremendous forces during the course of its run, would lead me to believe they are either trolling (obviously), or have a serious, physiological problem! Ditto what you said about the night rides in the front as well! I have ridden MF many times with people riding it for the first time, and and being "born again", is exactly what they feel like getting off!
