  1. Final tally from today on Storm Chaser: 20 rides, from virtually every seat on the train, both colors! I loved it! My first RMC, and my new #5 coaster! It's a very interesting coaster... It is more intense in the front than the back (marginally), and row 1-2 (particularly on the faster blue train) is THE new ejector seat, putting Magnum's 1-3 in its place! There is major hang time on the drop, and through the inversions, in the front, and you whip through those elements with speed in the back. The coaster it actually reminds me of the most, is Maverick. Wild, and twisty, from start, to finish! Kentucky Kingdom had a real winner on their hands here, and RMC is everything I've heard them to be! I got seven spins on Lightning Run (also my first times), and while it was a good little coaster, I actually found it a little uncomfortable, more so than Storm Chaser. Seven rides were about all my thighs could handle (especially after 20 spins on the similarly thigh crushing SC!) As for Thunder Run, and especially T3... *shudder* Still, on the whole, KK is a nice little park, with a good looking water park, and a lot of flats, and kid attractions! I will definitely return in the future!
  2. I'm here at the park today, and have ridden Storm Chaser 12 times, so it is definitely running again! (And is an amazing, amazing coaster!!! )
  3. Truer words have never been spoken! I think understanding the mind of women is actually easier, and we all know how impossible that is!
  4. Oooohhh! Shizz is about to get real! #IcantwaittogettoAltonTowersfinallyonceSW18isopen
  5. 4th different final coaster at CP, in four visits this year! First non-B&M!
  6. Wow... Never in my 50-ish rides on GateKeeper would I have ever considered it rough! I also haven't had any issues with the restraints since the first year. Of course, I'm not as tall as you, it sounds like, so that could be part of the issue... Regarding the Valravn restraints, I don't find them uncomfortable at all. But again, I'm not tall... I love that first drop, however! I definitely consider it the best drop in the park, with MF close behind! Strange that you weren't enamored with either drop... I guess that goes to show how different everybody's personal tastes are! (Not to mention, you actually had positive things to say about Corkscrew and Mine Ride, one of which is terrible (in my opinion), and the other of which is dreadfully dull...)
  7. Well, that's a horse of a different color!!! Here's the thing about this part though... It's great that it's non-painful to you, but it has caused me, and others I've ridden with, temporary pain before. Now that I expect it, and adjust accordingly it doesn't. But a couple of rides in the back, where I forgot to prepare... Don't get me wrong though... I still greatly enjoy the coaster, even if it isn't one of my favorite Inverts!
  8. I do think the Inverts are the most forceful (non Giga) model of B&M coaster, but the only ones that I would genuinely say are a little rough are some of the Stand-Up models, and now Rougarou's second half as well. And by rough, I'm referring to the head-banging. I try to ride it defensively, but unfortunately, I have a short-ish neck, so I can only do so much... Agreed on the first part wholeheartedly! On the small print, however, get your adult beverage of choice ready, because there is a bona-fide, noticeable, gets the people I'm riding with who don't know it's coming every single time, SNAP coming into Raptor's break run! Sorry, my man, but it's as real as any experience I've ever had on a coaster, in all my many years of riding!
  9. In all (sorta) seriousness, my Birthday is August 19, and I can safely say, in all of my 30+ birthdays, it has been awesome weather FAR more than not! So, I'm telling you there's a good chance you'll be fine! Unfortunately, only one of those Birthdays was actually spent at Cedar Point, where the weather is volatile, and rain and storms frequently batter the park when other places are great... Sorry...
  10. Never. If you want to ride all the coasters, and the best flats, more than likely, yes it is. But never say a pay-for- cut system is a requisite. Then the bad guys win! (Yes, this was said somewhat tongue in cheek, but also somewhat tongue out of cheek... )
  11. Actually, I totally get this! The older I get, the less and less I like being around large groups of people! I go to Movie Premiere's less frequently now, and I am pretty much a May, and late August/early September Cedar Point attender, because I simply can't stand the mobs of people Summer Amusement Park-ing attracts. I think, as much as I sold my interest in the "spectacle" of the movie premiere's in my last post, this more accurately reflects why I go to them now... If a movie just really interests me, I want to watch it as soon as possible! Same with coasters that look awesome! But you got to be smart about it, and I'm just thankful that my early season plans to go to Dollywood were not set in stone, and I can wait until it's open, and reliable. Also, I'll be going whenever Thrills in the Hills is finally rescheduled, so I'm going to be able to ride without the lengthy waits that a normal operating day trip would have (presumably, at least...)
  12. Hey, it's my Birthday in August! A trip to Holland would be a great gift!
  13. Gotta disagree with you on this one, Robb, at least from my personal experience! I don't find the crowds to be too obnoxious usually, and I love the vibe, and ambiance that goes with a "first showing" of a movie! I definitely prefer those viewing experiences to the "normal" ones, from the perspective of being a part of something big and exciting! Having said that, I do also get reserved seating in advance for said shows, so a lot of the stress, and potentially obnoxious people while waiting in a ridiculous line of years past is no longer present. Still, I love my (used to be) Midnight (now is 7:00 or 7:30 the previous day) showings! Different strokes for different folks, I guess... Now, back to your regularly scheduled play by play of Lightning Rod's every waking (or sleeping) moment!
  14. I'm going to take a wild guess, and say that either the guy running Screamscape, read this thread and posted that, or somebody from here told him that, and he posted it. I'm not trying to take a dump on the site entirely, because sometimes there is legit info there. But this seems a bit fishy, coming right after it was discussed in here...
  15. THIS! How could I forget this one???
  16. I feel like the Valravn line moves relatively quickly. Not GateKeeper quick, but assuming it doesn't break down (which it's done briefly both of the last two times I've ridden it), the line doesn't leave you in one spot very long.
  17. Acrobat, GateKeeper, and Mako for me! Having said that, my perfect coaster combo, would be the blue of the supports on Valravn, with the green of the supports on Rougarou! That would be amazing!
  18. To make it worse, they replace Gwazi with petting zoo! Lightning Rod #itneveropens
  19. Granted, but Epcot mistakenly puts you on the BANNED list, and you can never enter the park again. I wish Wildfire from Kolmarden, and Expedition GeForce, would get moved into the U.S...
  20. Then you must LOVE Fury's first hill after the drop! Maverick has some of the most forceful ejector air that I've ever experienced! It actually feels like somebody grabs you by your shoulders roughly, lifting you out of your seat, and then slams you back down again! Very intense! Magnum has tons of ejector air too, as does El Toro, The Voyage, etc.... On the topic of floater air, I got possibly the best floater air I've ever had last Tuesday when I went to Cedar Point... on Skyhawk! When the ride op pushed the lap bar down, I was adjusting myself in the seat, and the bar pushed against my protruding belly (I'd had a bit of beer at this point! ), and didn't go down very far. It was completely innocent on my part, I wasn't trying to gain any extra room. However, I wasn't about to pull it down further either! So, the ride gets going, and on the last forward swing, I lifted so far out of my seat, my friend next to me actually got worried that I was going to fly right out! Thankfully, that did not happen, and it just gave me a good floater air story to tell!
  21. I don't know if I started that discussion or not, but I haven't ridden Scorcher, so I can't comment on how it rides. I have ridden Riddler's Revenge, however, and actually enjoyed it. It's definitely the best Stand-Up I've ridden! Hopefully, I'll get down to SFOG before long! My comment about making Scorcher, Floorless, was more based off of wondering why they've let its appearance get so bad, and surmising that perhaps it's because a conversion, or replacement is in the works. If it's still a great Stand-Up coaster, than I would hope it just gets repainted, and not replaced...
  22. Disappointing to hear they don't sell beer at either SDC or Dollywood, but I guess, not altogether surprising... As a devout Christian, let me just say: "I love my beer, liquor, and wine, and I'm glad that Jesus enjoyed it too! (Well, at least the wine part!"
  23. ^THIS is what I'd like to see! Although, it'd definitely need a cable lift system like MF, and move quite fast. TTD and Kingda Ka just don't provide the same effect on me going down that MF and Fury do, and I'd love to see that feeling expanded to another 100 or so feet!
