  1. a. Yes, but it's still a valid question! b. Actually, it's not simply an opinion... I, and others, have provided concrete facts, proof, that CP frequently will build large coasters twice within the span of a few years. d. What I stated about people saying CP is running out of room the entire time you've been alive, is fact. I've seen and heard it. Yet, they keep adding coasters. Fact. Additionally, I could show you quite a few places they could add a coaster, though I won't, because this is a CW thread, and we're veering way off topic now! z. See how easy agreeing with me when I'm right is? I'm not going to argue anymore, because it's not constructive, but I do recommend taking a step back, and re-evaluating your "opinion", because it doesn't seem to be rooted in facts... Take care, bud!
  2. My memory from last year is very faint light on The Voyage as well. Possibly the Thunderbird brake run, or the moonlight. But I certainly don't recall any floodlights! (Also, I got two untrimmed rides that trip! )
  3. This reminds me... We need a vomit emoticon here at TPR...
  4. A) Did you seriously just call me "bud"??? B) Are you seriously trying to still defend your point, even against all proof that it's not accurate? C) There is no C... There never is a C... D) Cedar Point has been "running out of room" since I was a teenager... I turn 40 in a couple of years... Cedar Point is not running out of room... Z) Have you been to CP this year? It's the most packed early in the season than I have seen it for a LONG, LONG, time... maybe ever! Pretty sure Valravn following closely behind Rougarou and GateKeeper hasn't dampened its hype at all! Doh! That's what I get rushing through posting before having to head out the door! Yes, Draggin' Iron! My favorite coaster from when I first rode it in '88 until I rode Magnum a few years later!
  5. Gatekeeper and Valravn would like a word with you. Not to mention, when I was growing up, it was the norm... Raptor and Magnum (87,89), Magnum and Mean Streak (89,91), Raptor and Mantis (94,96), MF and WT (00,02), and then WT and TTD back to back (02,03)! (Also, technically, GateKeeper and Valravn do not qualify, as they are 13, and 16... But the Rougarou conversion was 2015, so it's still pretty much a new(ish) coaster! )
  6. Mean Streak was built over 8 months from the ground up. We have 12 months till May, soo... Yeah... I think you missed the point of what I was saying... I don't think they're removing Mean Streak this year. I think they may announce that it's its final season of operation, in August, so people can get their last rides in. Then they would have plenty of time - 2 offseasons, and all next season - to get an entire area prepared for the new coaster. Ohio winters can be harsh, and unpredictable, so why worry and stress about construction, when you don't need to? Just sayin'... All of this is pure speculation at this point, and I'm well aware that we're way early to be speculating about a possible 2018 attraction. But I was just pointing out what could potentially be what they're up to. How long Mean Streak took to be built from the ground up (which, incidentally, I actually remember, since I was 12! ), is irrelevant to the point I was trying to make.
  7. I definitely think Soak City expansion is on the docket for 2017, and tying it in with my "new midway" theory posited above, the necessary removal of Rip Cord could result in it being moved to the new midway area taking shape off the end of the current Gemini Midway, putting it and Slingshot over there together, as that area begins to take shape in preparation for the big opening of the new RMC MS in 2018.
  8. I don't know if you guys have noticed or not, but over in the KI thread, they're getting excited about lime green B&M track, which appears to be for a Hyper, or more likely Wingrider coaster. Given that I suspect their new coaster will be a woodie of some sort, I immediately thought of the long rumored "Ziz" Wingrider for CW. It would fit with the bright color scheme laid out in their previous two B&M beasts, as well! To me, CW is still the #1 most likely next destination for a CF large cap-ex, given their stellar attendance numbers, but it wouldn't shock me if both CW and KI got something next year...
  9. I haven't been to the CW thread yet today, to see if they're talking about this there, but did anybody consider that this track might be for the "Ziz" Wingrider likely going into CW next year? Just sayin'... I still think wood is likely for KI's 2017 project, if I were a betting man...
  10. Even if the marker is legit, and not just a troll job, I don't think this will be for next season. I imagine they would be in prep phase now, and then towards the end of the year announce that Mean Streak will be closing. Then destruction/construction happens 2017 for 2018. It just seems like Valravn this year, and then Mean Streak RMC next year is too quick, even for CP! The only similar examples would be Wicked Twister and then TTD the following year (and WT is a much smaller project than an RMC conversion), and then Rougarou/Valravn last year and this year, and though it was another conversion situation, it's still on a much smaller scale. I think MS conversion would be a pretty massive conversion, and rather than just try to complete it all over the course of an off season, they'll actually have it completely gone for a year, before it opens completely ready in 2018. Maybe we'll even get a complete new midway, and connected area like they did with Valravn this year, where all that space back there between Perimeter Rd. and the park is utilized! That would make a lot of sense, given the transformative effect most of their major coaster projects have had on the look of the area around the coaster recently! The elimination of another dead end part of the park, and allowing for people to bypass even going to Frontier Town going directly from Gemini Midway to the new RMC MS, would be great in and of itself, and the creation of a lot of extra space for flats, ripcord and slingshot, or other future expansion, would be a nice benefit as well!
  11. I like wood coasters that run smooth but throw you around laterally by design (Twister at Knoebels for example) but wood coasters aren't supposed to feel like you're riding on a jackhammer with square wheels like Wildcat does. At least not in my opinion. Definitely. Anyone who thinks Wildcat is "normal rough" either hasn't been on woodies like the ones at Knoebels which are way more intense but much smoother, or is some kind of masochist. I don't mind a rough, intense ride, but Wildcat is not very intense, just rough. Jackhammering does not equal intensity. In fact, if they actually smoothed it out and actually fixed the problem (I don't care if they have to strip it down to the ledgers, it must be possible, I just think they don't give a sh*t) I think it may actually run much faster and more intense, juging by what's happened to Twister in recent years. But it hasn't happened yet so I doubt it ever will. I'm guessing sooner or later its headed for the scrap heap. When I'm somebody who has The Voyage as his #1 Wooden Coaster, and thinks Wildcat is too rough for my tastes, that kind of says it all! There's intensity, and then there's just roughness borne out of poor design, or simply age.
  12. There should be a new rule that I can't post before downing my first cup of coffee in the morning. This is a rule I've realized I should always adhere to when posting online, here or Facebook, in general! Imagineer Josh, while I agree that The Beast at night is a definite must ride, and multiple rides then would be ideal, don't sleep on Banshee at night! It's also a very awesome night ride, and the queue experience then is tops of any that I've been in!
  13. Never smoked a substance a day in my life! Maybe that's why I can correctly assess Banshee's greatness, that you have apparently missed! Honestly, when it comes to B&M Inverts, I feel like each person's preference has a lot to with what they want from their coaster experience, be it intensity, a unique layout, or simply something special that just sets it apart. For me, it's splitting hairs with my top 3... I really like Banshee, Montu, and Alpengeist all about the same! But if I have to rank them, that's where I have them... for now at least!
  14. Probably not... However, I bet there were plenty of people who liked the old Texas Giant, the old Cyclone at SFNE, Roar at SFDK, and even Colossus at SFMM. Yet they were all RMC'd, and I would bet virtually all of those people prefer the new incarnation of the coaster. Just sayin'... It would essentially add a new coaster to Hersheypark, and wouldn't involve any additional space to be cleared.
  15. Granted. But they are from previous seasons, and no longer valid. I wish I had a lifetime supply of Valravn Ice Cream!
  16. To make it worse, they removed any of Strong Bad's tradmark snark from the park, and it felt super generic. Hillary Clinton's first act as President, is to ban rollercoasters, and have them all dismantled.
  17. Ghostbusters 1984 Giant Spiders, or Giant Scorpions
  18. 1. Banshee 2. Montu 3. Alpengeist 4. Dueling Dragons (The old, actual dueling version from 15 years ago) 5. Afterburn Honorable Mention: Great Bear - Very underrated Invert!
  19. I just had the thought, looking at a SFOG TR, and seeing pictures of Georgia Scorcher, that maybe they aren't investing the money in painting it now, because they already know they will either be removing it, or more likely, converting it to a Floorless, as mentioned above. And obviously, when they do, it will get a re-paint, and look good as new - a fitting coaster to adorn the entryway to the park!
  20. First off, I am adamantly of the opinion that doesn't feel like there was a long-past "golden age of B&M", but rather that they are still churning out fantastic coasters! Having said that, they seriously need to get back in the business of making coasters like Kumba, because that IS a crowning achievement for them! As such, I wouldn't put any of the Batman clones (which I put well below many of the B&M Inverts I've ridden) anywhere near Kumba's level of excitement, and all-around ride-ability!
  21. GateKeeper! The third different final coaster of the day, in three visits to the park! (All B&M coasters, interestingly enough!)
