  1. Speaking of overrated coasters since the last time I talked about Titan in this thread I rode it three more times and it just got worse. Why do people like this ride at all? It's big, but it doesn't feel like it. It's fast, but it spends all of its speed trying to knock you out with g-forces. It's sorta smooth, but on my most recent ride I noticed a massive rumble. This was still all last summer and I don't have a SFOT trip planned this summer, but if I did I'd probably opt to avoid it entirely. I don't get intimidated by the height like my first ride. The drop is boring, not steep, and is just straight track on a decline. The tunnel is over too quickly to be bothered with. The turnaround does what it says on the tin, and nothing else. The hill serves no purpose and feels pretty much like straight track. The first helix is headache-inducing. The twister section might have been almost fun if the MCBR didn't kill all the speed, but I'm glad it does because guess what there's another helix, and this one is sure to make your potential headache worse. This is, at max, a once-a-day ride. Now I get that some people have a higher resistance to the g-forces, but even then, what does the ride even do that's noteworthy? It just sorta meanders around, and just when you start doing something interesting it throws a giant helix at you saying "look I can be forceful too." I'll be honest, I prefer mine trains to this. I prefer Texas's local Boomerang to Titan. I'm glad I don't see it ranking high but I still hear people praise it and I really just don't understand at all, especially with NTaG next door.
  2. Only like 20 people have actually ridden Lightning Rod lol
  3. RMCs are actually really pretty rides imo, although I do think NTaG looks better with the more faded color for the track.
  4. Magnum has been cranking trains out like nobody's business and Valravn doesn't seem to be doing that bad either. I just caught something that looked like a test run on TTD. Maybe by the time the park closes at least one full train of riders will get to race for the sky today.
  5. Just noticed one of the livecams is on Valravn at the moment. It looks massive, can't wait to see it in person next week. oh and TTD seems to be down. surprised?
  6. I use my desktop for all the videos but I do use my phone for the forums when I'm out and about.
  7. If you're in Allentown you're ridiculously close to a majority of the parks in the northeast. Dorney isn't exactly a bad park either.
  8. idk about SFGAm's, but I remember the SFStL one being a lot shorter and less immersive than SFOT's.
  9. I've heard some terrible things about Green Lantern at SFMM, and I'm willing to bet you'll like the Freespins way more. The restraints are nice and comfy and it's nice and smooth. It is a little disorienting but not that bad.
  10. Pretty much this. I do have some level of formula to it (like I said earlier) but if I don't have any fun then there's no point in riding (i.e. Titan). Sometimes I'll look at my ranking and change something because a coaster is sitting really high on it and I just think, "I don't really feel like going and riding that right now" and I'll look at a few under it and have the urge to ride them, then drop the higher ranking one below them.
  11. I skipped Ninja at SFStL when I was there. I was on a strict three hour time budget and was much more interested in the budget-Holiday-World end of the spectrum with the three woodies and launch coaster (and we got a ride on the mine train because it had no line). I don't know what VR would do to it since I didn't ride it but if I ever am back at SFStL I might give it a shot. Maybe the mediocre-at-worst visuals will give me a getaway from the mediocre-at-best ride.
  12. I think would use an equation of sorts, (fun factor/section of track)*length. New Texas Giant is my favorite coaster (for now) because every moment of it is fun and there's a ton of it.
  13. When I was at SFOT there was a running joke between the ride ops about the teacups being the tallest, fastest, most thrilling ride in the park.
  14. Today was weird. Around park opening only half of the park was open due to power outages, but we got there at 12 in hopes that the waterpark would steal some of the Memorial Day crowds. So everyone was stuck in the front half. Iron Rattler was around a 45 minute wait, Roadrunner probably half an hour, I don't want to know how long the line was for Boomerang or Goliath, but both of them seemed very busy as well (which makes sense because everything in the middle of the park back was closed and there were ropes. Crowds seemed super heavy. Iron Rattler was running great, not any better or worse than normal. Lots of ejector air and crazy fun stuff as always. The last drop off the cliff in the back is the best single moment of airtime I've experienced so far. Super long sustained ejector. It's great. Roadrunner was having weird issues when we were in line for IRat, like getting stuck on the lift hill for 5 minutes. By the time we were done on Iron Rattler, Roadrunner had closed and run 6 or so empty trains. When we got off, the line for Roadrunner had just opened so we went to check it out. The lift hill has been weird this season. Instead of a constant pace, it sort of chugs its way up (which is new, it didn't do this last season). About halfway up it starts getting sort of normal and by the time you're at the top the lift hill is a normal lift hill. This ride is actually the second best coaster in the park for airtime. Both lift hill drops and the first airtime hill are super out of control. After we got off Roadrunner we went to go see if Goliath's line had died down... and it broke down so they kicked everyone out of line. RIP. So we went and ate some decent barbecue at the Crackaxle Canyon Old Blue's or whatever it's called. The meat here is actually really good (despite being overpriced) and this is pretty much the only place in the park worth eating at (unless you're into Asian food, then there's Panda Express). Right as we finished eating the park came over the PA and announced that they had gotten the Boardwalk running, so we headed over there. For some reason the lines really didn't pick up here until after we had gotten 3 or 4 rides on Scooby Doo and 4 rides on Pandemonium and even then it wasn't too bad. Fireball and Spinsanity were running but HF5 wasn't (which is OK because I rode it on Friday night). Superman was down all day and I saw some maintenance workers over in that area. To finish out we went and got two more rides on Iron Rattler. For some reason, the line had died down to 20-30 minutes the first ride, and by the time I got around the second time it was a station wait. So yeah all placements are still solid and the park is still fun.
  15. Switchback at ZDT's yesterday. Very awesome compact ride with an amazing sense of speed.
  16. I'm hoping LR is open when I'm there three weeks from now but even if it's not, at least there are other coasters worth riding there. Do you think it'll be open Saturday 6/18?
  17. Looks like an awesome ride! If it were real it'd probably be one of the best inverting B&Ms.
  18. https://www.mtolympuspark.com/coming-in-2016-wisconsin-dells For a second there I seriously thought it said "The Great Pool of Depth"
  19. it's OK as long as you weren't at ZDT's today to hear me and my buddies' endless stream of roller coaster related innuendos. it all started with this: "This is probably the best wooden coaster in Texas" "I'm the best wooden coaster in Texas" ... don't get me starting on headbanging, banked curves, steep drops, inline twists, or cobra rolls...
  20. oh man if I don't make it to SFFT or ZDT's again by June 10th, then my next park is SDC.... HYPE
  21. Theming and ride elements are both top-notch for a RCT3 coaster! Wow! Amazing job! The only thing I'd worry about (and only if it was a real coaster) would be those two extended helices and blackouts, haha
  22. I remember that area of the park being really dark during my two visits. Next time I'm there (which will probably not be for another year or so) I'm totally checking out the new (not-so-)flats.
