  1. Maybe it just felt that way. The loop playing on the little TVs was shorter as well, iirc
  2. Outlaw Run. A fantastic woodie and incredibly fun Loaded with airtime.
  3. Outlaw Run and NTaG take the cake. Iron Rattler is pretty good too.
  4. Yeah, I was really surprised at the wait times, especially considering the number of people in the midways and at the shows. It truly is a super fun park, and makes me excited for Dollywood as well! Holiday World is indeed my next stop and I'm super hyped! I'm a big wooden coaster fan, and Thunderbird will be my first wing coaster too.
  5. If it's anything like Outlaw Run it should be a very amazing coaster! The quadruple down especially looks awesome.
  6. None of the waits were terrible today. We considered water rides but didn't really want to get wet. Tried a ton of the food and all of it was great, park was fun and had a ton of random things to do and see. We didn't end up doing the cave or too many of the flats (not a big fan of long cycles and some of them were giving really long cycles today). Outlaw Run is my new #2 coaster overall and #1 woodie. I'm waiting to update my main list until next week, but overall none of the major coasters here are even remotely bad. Seriously awesome terrain usage, good sense of speed, generally really fun rides. Didn't end up using all 8 Trailblazer rides. The coasters never had lines over 30 minutes or even 15 unless you wanted the front. We got to ride front row on all of the major coasters and back row on three of them. Seriously fun park! Great food and charm too
  7. I'm not totally sure about weekends as the one time I went to SFOT on a weekend it rained everyone out, but on weekdays NTaG was around 20-30 minutes, Titan 5-10, BTR 30-ish.
  8. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I am really with you here, regarding The Beast in the daytime. It's definitely nowhere near a top wooden coaster, let alone a top coaster overall! Now The Beast at night, on the other hand... You definitely need to make sure to get a ride on it then at some point! I don't think Beast during the day has any amount of hype at all, that's a pretty popular opinion. I don't know if I'll end up riding Beast during the day at all on my KI trip.
  9. I think the main difference is that CP is locked in how much space they take up. They only have the peninsula (which is big don't get me wrong), whereas KI does have a decent amount of expansion space with empty land they could obtain and use as they're not on a giant body of water. CP is definitely expanding faster at the moment, but KI's attendance numbers are getting pretty close to CP's as time goes on. I wouldn't be surprised if twenty years from now KI had become on CP's level. Then again, I'd also not be surprised if it wasn't.
  10. won't KI technically have 5 woodies if this is the case? Both sides of Racer, anyone? In all seriousness if this is legit I think it's one of the better things they could be adding. I think in the long run with not being as limited on space as Cedar Point, KI could eventually become on the level or even higher than CP. That obviously wouldn't be for another decade or so, but KI does have hella potential and they're still doing great as is!
  11. Yeah I can see that. It's just the way I see traditional (although if RMC or GCI were to build an out-and-back like Racer it'd probably be awesome, lol)
  12. I'd hardly call GCIs "traditional wooden coasters." The only one I've been on was American Thunder @ SFStL but even that was nothing I'd call traditional. When I think traditional woodies I think of out and back, airtime hills that give mostly floater, cushiony seats and either buzz bars or those orange ratchety lapbars. Screamin Eagle at SFStL is a traditional woodie. Judge Roy Scream at SFOT is a traditional woodie. Racer is a traditional woodie. Beast seems too unique to really categorize to either traditional or modern, and CCIs also sort of take the middle ground, but GCIs and RMCs pretty much define the modern woodie imo
  13. I think Batman clones are a little overrated sometimes. They're fun, but really not something I'd reride unless the front few rows had short lines as anywhere near the back and it loses a decent amount of its rerideability. I'd assume other fast-paced intense inverts are like this as well.
  14. The dippin dots guy at SFStL told me that Valleyfair was adding an RMC T-Rex Stratacoaster in 2017.
  15. I would have to agree here. Tons of people enjoy it and the line moves pretty quickly despite the lower capacity. It seems to get fairly decent ridership. If anything, Judge Roy would have lower ridership as it was a walk-on in all rows but the front every day we were there. I'd say the same for ShockWave but now that they've added VR it's probably not the case anymore.
  16. Waiting for Runaway Mountain was worth it both times, but it did seem to have the second longest line in the park after JLBFM.
  17. Kings Island was the #16 most attended park in North America in 2015, so income wise, KI is actually the bigger money maker for Cedar Fair. They really don't need to "catch up."
  18. idk what it's like at the moment, but when I was at SFOT last season the line for Runaway Mountain was upwards of 45 minutes all day.
  19. best of luck to you! hopefully you get to ride. it truly does look amazing
  20. While I agree with some of your points I have to disagree here. Unlike Mean Streak, Ghostrider actually had a decent layout. If Mean Streak were to just get smoother, it would be boring because the layout does pretty much nothing. But if CF gave GCI some creative Liberty, I bet they could turn it around. Yeah, if it were something more on the Legend end of the spectrum it could be cool. The POVs really show how much speed Legend retains after the GCI refurb.

  22. ^why wouldn't they? more money is more better although like I said before, I really don't think RMC Mean Streak is happening for 2017. I think it will happen in the future, just not 2017.
  23. ^^I think this can be said for pretty much any looper. Heck, even B&Ms would have less headbanging with better restraints (although I've heard the vest restraints have other issues) ^I'll give that a shot if we ride it. Thanks for the tip.
  24. The view from the top of that lift hill is going to be unparalleled.
  25. ^ yeah definitely. Especially with Mean Streak's current size and layout they could make another ride along the lines of NTaG- the length of that ride totally won me over.
