What is your next park?
Projektion replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Considering I only really get to go away twice a year, so it's still a while until around October till my next park. I'm still currently deciding between Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Portaventura, Europa Park and Heide park. I'm leaning a bit towards Heide Park at the moment because of the pretty good selection of rides there. -
While the theming and rides may be incredible, the one problem I'm having with this park at the moment is just how flat the lot the park is built on and the surrounding area is. I don't know what it is, but it just seems off putting and just makes the park look a lot more barren than it may actually be.

Weird Coaster Facts

Don't the Togo ultra twister coasters technically have a tilt track to get onto the lift hill and turn around. -
Well, I can feel less embarrassed about that Spain game now.

No, they seem very similar because he involved with Golden Horse. In the same way "his" trains for this 16 inversion mess are very, very similar to Gerstlauer trains. And another one of "his" creations on his youtube page bears more than a passing resemblance to a KMG Afterburner. I do not trust this Camiel person, not even slightly. 1. Just because the ride has a similar seating layout to an afterburner means nothing, they both offer 2 separate ride experiences. 2. There is a very good reason why those trains look similar, because they are the exact same, those train designs you've likely seen online were made by camiel.

Your first Arrow Dynamics coaster

El diablo at PortAventura I recently found out that I've actually ridden all arrow coasters that are currently in the EU. -
Furius baco, back row. As much as I love that ride, there is nothing that can save those back rows.

Going to parks alone?
Projektion replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I personally like to be by myself anyway, so going to a park by myself is no different, plus it means I can get away with more rides throughout the day since I don't have to wait around for anyone of I can use the single rider lines. -

When I was there last month, I saw someone in the queue for Furius Baco with a gopro attached to their chest, I don't know if they were actually allowed on the ride with it though. I don't know if you can take it, but I assume if you could, they would likely only allow the chest ones. -

I can't say, I haven't been to PA during one of their White Nights, but I can't imagine the queues will be any worse since it's around the time schools with be starting back up in the area. As for front rows, I prefer night time rides, Especially when DK is all lit up. I don't believe there is That's generally up to you. You shouldn't get Express queues of more than 20 minutes on most rides, the only one that may have that long a queue is Furius Baco (because it's the first ride you come to and the booth where you buy Express is literally right out front) and Templo Del Fuego (Because it's a show and each cycle lasts about 15 minutes) -

There are 4 types of Fast Passes as PA: -Express Max: Allows 1 time access to the express queue for each ride in the park. Does not allow front row access. Costs around 25€ -Express Max Gold: Allows 1 time access to the express queue for each ride in the park and allows you to ride 1 time in the front row on Furius Baco, Dragon Khan and Shabhala. Costs around 30€ -Express Premium: Allows unlimited access to the express queue or each ride in the park. Does not allow front row access. Costs around 46€ -Express Premium Gold: Allows unlimited access to the express queue for each ride in the park and allows you to ride 1 time in the front row on Furius Baco, Dragon Khan and Shabhala. Costs around 51€ With the Express pass, you enter through a separate queue line to the rest of the people (usually near the exit of the ride), they will check your express ticket (if you buy Max)/Wristband (If you buy Premium) when you get to the front of the queue. If you don't have the Gold pass, you will most likely NOT get to ride in the front row of Furius Baco, Dragon Khan or Shambhala (If there are no express users with a gold pass, they will let people from the regular queue in the front row. Sometimes you might get a ride op that will let people from the express line without gold into the front row, but they're not supposed to let you). The Gold passes are the only guaranteed way to get a ride in the front row. The Express rides are: -Shambhala -Furius Baco -Dragon Khan -Templo del Fuego -Tutuki Splash -Stampida -Angkor -Silver River Flume -El Diablo – Tren de la Mina -Grand Canyon Rapids Ride ops will usually fill 1/3 to 1/2 of the train with people from the express queue if there are lots of people with express. At most, about 2 or 3 cycles of a ride, so I'd say about 5 minutes. Most people don't buy Express passes. While it may be busy White Night, the park is open till 2am that day, so it may be busy early on, but it will probably die down a lot around 9pm. -

Hard to say, schools won't have started by then so most kids will still be on their summer holidays. Pretty much you'd have to see on the day since that time of year can be a bit odd. Furius Baco is the first ride you come too in the park, so most people will probably ride on it first, if the queue is outside the villa by 11:30 - 12 (most of the park is usually open or people have dispersed around the park a bit by this time), I'd probably recommend getting the Express Pass. -

In the original plans/models of Portaventura, Dragon Khan was originally going to be an Arrow looper with intertwining loops. These pics were discovered by Willy on PA-Community. I get the feeling the intertwining loops is what gave B&M the idea to add the "threading the needle" moment on DK before the zero g roll. -
1 and 2A can sort of be done. You can't make the cars on their own invisble per se (unless hey add this feature in a future update), but you can leave the coaster as a wireframe and then choose the option "hide wireframe". It would make the coaster invisible, but still allow you to script your new car models to the "invisible" cars 2B can be done. 2C and 3, to my knowledge can't be done.

Absolutely love PA, great update. I can guarantee I was right behind you when you took that Furius Baco pic. -
I haven't got the professional edition, so I don't know what it's like, (I'm doing this next section from memory, since I'm not at home so I don't have NL2 in front of me) but in the video export section of the settings isn't there an option to set the file extension and resolution that the video will be in?

I haven't played rct3, but after looking at Mantis, WT and Raptor... how? has there been some sort of big revolution in CS to the point where you can import whole models of roller coasters, the possibility to add more coaster track parts or something? do they actually work? -
^^ As AJ said, in the standard license you can't get that high a quality. The best way I've found to get around it is to play NL2 in a high resolution then use Fraps. Though the problem with that is Fraps exports to .avi files which absolutely eats hard drive space if you run NL2 at a high resolution (a 1,5 minute video for me took up 15gb of space) and it occasionally skips frames/stutters.
