^Angkor? Well, at least it's not just Aventura en el Reino Perdido. ^^I don't think their has been any delays yet, but there's still another 3 months left yet. It's advertised to open on the 11th and I'm there on the 14th. I'll be able to experience my first Splash Battle. -
The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread
Projektion replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unpleasant: Dragon Khan: while being a great ride, and was my first looping coaster, the way that zero-g roll whips around really makes the train bitchslap you hard. Easily the part of the ride that I dislike the most. Pleasant: Furius Baco: Managed to ride it in the opening season so the vibrations weren't as bad as they've become. It was my first accelerator/launch coaster (unless you count the revolution at PBB asa launch coaster) so the launch quite surprised me, I was expecting a forceful launch but not as much as it was. -
What are some loud rides and coasters?
Projektion replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dragon Khan is pretty loud, there is no where in that park that you can't hear it roaring. -
Flight Deck [NL2]
Projektion replied to jakecallan's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Now I've had the chance to look at it a bit more, I feel like some of the transitions in the ride were a bit quick, for example, the way the seats rotate during the first half zero-g roll thing (I'm not quite sure the name of that element), it feels like they rotated a bit too quick. Also on the bit where the track connects to the final brake run, it seems like it just "snaps on" instead of smoothly flowing into it (don't know how well I explained that). -

As long as you avoid the weekends, you should be fine (I'd say about 30 - 45 mins wait on most rides compared to say 1,5 - 3 hour waits on weekends). -
Flight Deck [NL2]
Projektion replied to jakecallan's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Not bad. I'm happy to see someone actually making a 4D coaster in NL2 for a change, it seems like the least popular of the new coaster styles. One thing that irks me though is the way the seats are inclined forwards during the lift. -

^If you mean it's still wireframe when you go into the park, go to the coaster tab in the editor and click the "Freeze" button. -

This is happening to me also. SO once I create a track, how come it shows up in the simulator as wire-frame? How do I make it normal? lol You go to the coaster tab and click "Freeze" I've realised something, if we could just bank the track on the transfer tracks, some elements for recreations could be easily implemented, for example: The inclined transfer from powder keg. -

Took me about an hour to re ajust. The editor has been almost completely revamped, but I would easily say it is for the better. -

Is there any other way than using the Element 5 thing to buy NL2? I've been trying since it got released yesterday now with 4 different credit cards and every single one gets denied. -

^ Who knows, maybe we'll get them in a future update. I remember reading a while ago how there was going to be a built in feature to use google earth/maps images for the terrain texture. Did it end up making it into NL2 in the end? -

1. Portaventura 2. Tibidabo 3. Terra Mitica All are about 1 hour away from me assuming I'm don't have to wait for flights/transfers/etc., Otherwise it's probably closer to 2/2 and a half hours -

Now that I've had a good chance to play around with the editor, I love it. It's like the lovechild of Newton and the NL1 editor, giving the easy node moving building stlye of NL1 but with the geat visual feedback of Newton. -

I'm also experiencing some frame drops. I'm not entirely sure if it's this, but it appears to be the trains refecting on the water. Aside from that, it seems to be holding up pretty well on my old PC. -

^^True, but to me, it looks a bit much on the skyline now. Back in the days when DK was the only thing dominating the skyline, it had a lot more of an intimidating appearence to it. -

I remember reading on a blog somewhere that the park was going to be opening a bit later than usual around about mid April, instead of mid March, but then again, PA community have got a page saying that they are going to be opening mid March. To be honest, it's a bit up in the air at the moment, but I imagine the park will be doing their announcements for next season (new ride, opening hours) over the coming weeks since they are closing for 3 months. -

Dragon Khan, back in the day before Hurakan Condor and Shambhala were built. Given that Portaventura is built on a hill and Dragon Khan was built on the highest point, it just had a menacing appearence since it could be seen from so far away. -

I don't know what it is about I305, but whenever I see that lift, it makes it so hard to believe that ride is over 300ft for some reason.
