  1. Furius Baco on Friday As rough as that coaster may be, it's still probably one of my favourite rides ... or that might just be the concussion talking, who knows.
  2. ^ Yep, was working the entire time I was there, Animatronics and doors were bust though (though I'm fairly sure those have been broken since the opening season)
  3. ^ They practically never run with the brakes running on the MCBR before anyway. I'm back home now, and had a great time at PA. Operations got better throughout the week I was there (abysmal at the start (running 1 train on DK when there was a 1,5 hour queue) then got better as the week went on (to the point where they were dispatching trains as if it was the peak of the summer season)). Angkor, for the most part, had really short lines almost all week. Unless there are a lot of people at PA, I'd say give Angkor a miss, the whole experience is great when there are a lot of people in the area/on the ride (such as after the show that is done in the plaza). My favourite thing of Angkor though is probably the new shots you're able to get of DK and Shambhala. Also, I just want to say, the neuter on DK is not ride ruining, the part of the ride after mcbr is still pretty intense, just not as intense as it used to be, the loop gives a lot more of a floaty feel (like an actual loop) instead of practically being an "upright helix", and it still snaps through those corkscrews pretty quickly.
  4. The thing that made notice all the brakes was that they were using tbe trims on el diablo that practically never get used. I remember thinking "something isn't quite right" and began to notice the brakes on all the rides were getting used. As for the restaurants, they are only open between 2 and 5 -ish. Although it might just be too early in the season for them to open most of them.
  5. I'm at PA now, just finished my first day. I'm not sure why, by they seem to be using all the brakes (whether its a trim or a block brake) on every ride, like the mcbr on Shambhala and DK, the trims on el diablo and Stampida, that pretty much never/barely used before. The neuter on DK is extremely noticeable. You get about half way through the mcbr then slam into the restraints as the brakes kick in.
  6. My god, did they seriously neuter one of the best B&Ms out there? Hopefully this is just a temporary thing and they stop using the brakes again after a few weeks.
  7. It looks like it would barely make it's way around the first loop.
  8. I can't wait till next season when the plants and trees have grown a bit more and actually make it look more jungly. Couple of things I've found out from reading about the opening day: - The effects of Tutuki Splash are back working again (the volcano actually has smoke coming out of it now) - Dragon Khan's MCBR slows down the train a lot more than it used to (the train used to pass straight through the MCBR with practically 0 brakes), meaning the second half of the rides is taken at a slower speed and is less intense.
  9. Furius Baco As much as I love the ride, the rear seats are the only time I've truly felt unsafe on a coaster, it vibrates and bounces around so much it feels like the wing of the train could snap off at any time.
  10. Personally, I count 8 (but this is including the triangle one at the top). I'm more intrigued by where PA-Community got the 118 meter figure from in the description of the video, like is that actually going to be the height or was that just the height the creator of the recreation decided to put it at.
  11. ^It says in the description it's unofficial and made by fans in NoLimits 2.
  12. Amazing. It looks and rides really great. Like everyone else, I love that first element. My only criticism is the music, not that it's bad, but because NL2 has a doppler effect, when flying/walking/riding the coaster close to the plaza, it really badly distorts the music.
  13. Terra mitica The last new coaster they had was an Intamin Ball coaster back in 2007, aside for that, they have an SLC, an RCCA woodie (I'd still love to see what RMC would be able to do with that double drop off the cliff) and a family coaster. They don't really have a good, big coaster
  14. The Smiler. Though I've been on a good few coasters that either used to hold the world record or hold the European record or something.
  15. New pics of the ride/theming. the boast have also arrived. Also, TV spot! (french) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcaBk6uDcu0 (trivia: this tv spot was mostly recorded in the polynesia section of the park) Source: http://port-aventura.pa-community.com/construcciones/portaventura-novedad-atraccion-2014/fotos

  17. Considering I don't usually go to many parks, and when i do I spend 3 to 5 days a time, for me I'd say no. Because I usually have extended stays, I know to pace myself when at a park since I know if I don't go on something one day, I can go on it the next which means I never get burned out at the park over my stay.
  18. Steel: Shambhala (249ft) @ PortAventura Wooden: Coaster Express (120ft) @ Parque Warner Madrid
  19. New pictures of the ride have been posted to PA-Community by arracuu. Theming is coming along nicely and the track was been laid down.
  20. PortAventura 14th - 18th April The week following the opening weekend, hopefully to avoid any families.
  21. I don't think you understand. S&S, from what I have been told, have actually not been part of this project for a very long time. I was under the impression that the last two years it was taken over by another company, an independent engineering firm to complete it. I might be wrong, but when we were recently at S&S they told us they had nothing to do with that project anymore. I wasn't sure the situation with the coaster, I didn't really know if the manufacturer was still working on the coaster during them 4 years or if it was given to someone else. I guessed S&S since they were manufacturer, and I thought I would be closer to being correct than incorrect. Basically, just replace S&S in my old post with whoever was working on it.
  22. I could imagine S&S are pretty angry right now. "what? you made us spend 4 years trying to get this thing to work, just to open it for about a week before scrapping it!"
  23. Not bad, But I think a bit more detail could go into the mountain, it just looks too "polygon-y" for my liking.
  24. Not just a 230 foot hypercoaster, but what is generally regarded as B&M's best hyper coaster.
