  1. Or you'll all just need to go ride the thing to see what all is in store!
  2. They mention more near misses in the video posted earlier today.
  3. I see the propose. They still look weird.
  4. This seems strange. Why give up the momentum to a brake run when the train can make it partway up the lift, catch a ratchet, and move up from there? Both lift hills will have ratchets I assume (especially as a safety measure to prevent backsliding)? On another note, X2 and Apocalypse had maintenance done and are running MUCH better than during Freight Fest. Apocalypse had its second train back, too, and it was a walk-on twice. It can be very hard on the ride when the train doesn't meet the chain at the right speed. Two slow can cause too much stress on the motor, too fast can put a pretty sharp force on the chain dogs and cause damage. Tremors used to require frequent replacements when ops would let the train leave the station too fast. Although, having a block brake before the lift doesn't mean that the train will ever stop there or even slow down, it just means it has that capability to. In case of something like a train getting "stuck" on the lift with another train coming behind it. It'd be a weird circumstance but that's what blocking systems are designed to prevent. And yes, you might be able to have two trains on the lift, that doesn't mean that if the lift motor can pull up two trains full or start under that condition.
  5. That looks pretty good Is anyone feeling slightly better about the prospect of a screampunk (re)theme?
  6. I know from the open house Six Flags is VERY invested in buying RMC for a while.
  7. I seem to recall having this discussion when banshee first started construction. Everyone kept saying the track is the same, the trains just require more distance between the track and other objects (supports, station walls, etc).
  8. If the ops were watching the lifts (they are conveniently close to each other) they could potentially stop the train there if they had to. But they might not be able to easily get people off the lift so that might make things worse overall.
  9. The off season for those of us still working at a park can be interesting... I need to get to a closet at the end of this hall.
  10. It's because of the website that produced the interview. Not the interview or YouTube itself.
  11. Depending on the energy of the ops we've got, Aftershock can get great responses. If the ops are bored and quite then usually not as much...
  12. The plan may be spring, but the media might say summer. It looks better to be finished earlier than "planned" and makes both parties look good than to disappoint people and make RMC look bad for not finishing "on time". Just a theory.
  13. ^ & ^^ So close! I love the look of the Wing Riders, but I'm honestly not a fan of blue/teal and orange.
  14. Why don't you share some of your stories? Or links?
  15. Well I've never done anything like this, but here it is. Pretty much everyone there was friends of Fredd or other employees and their families. There wasn't really any formal tour, but I was talking to the Manufacturing Manager who runs the machine shop where they build the trains, and she told me some of what they do in the new building. The trains are all made in a different building, so I couldn't see that. I'm not sure how much I want to say mostly out of respect for RMC. For the current projects they are sending the pieces of track to the site as fast as they can and as soon as they're ready to leave. And in the future, well, things are very bright. As in contracts out to 2020. Lot's of RMC in the future! New sign for outside the building And this is part of WC. For most of the night it was used as a table... It's still pretty big! That big stack of steel is what they're getting ready to cut. Each piece is 40' x 8'. Here's half of the plasma cutters. 2 cutting heads, 4 "tables" to work on. Some of TC's track getting welded together. It's sitting next to the new S&S track. This whole wall of track is going to be painted for TC. Each piece is ~40' long. Painting booths that weren't quite finished. Very orange track... Twisty!
  16. Cobra Rolls are weird, they require a lot of energy to make it through. Once you make it through the first inversion you have to go straight back up and over without much space to recoup some of that energy.
  17. Isn't dragster actually more efficient with only 5 trains?
  18. It's finished! They're also holding an open house Thursday. From their Facebook.
  19. Yes! Someone who gets how vastly underrated Timber Terror is!
  20. What's going to make people more mad? Letting them in to enjoy 2-3 (more than that honestly) attractions or telling them at the gate they can't come in at all, even if they have money. Maybe it's different in other places, but we get people driving from up to 3-4 hours away. We aren't going to completely ruin their plans/evening.
  21. The hardest part of "conga lining" the attractions is it's very difficult for the actors to remain in character for so long. It puts a lot of stress on the attraction itself (to run every single air powered effect at once takes a lot of air pressure). And it gets harder to try and watch cameras. You go from a few groups (6-8 for us) to groups in every camera. It's hard to see stuff. Not to mention the fact that we get people who are too scared to keep moving forward. Which slows everyone down and it feels like you're still in line inside the attraction.
